Tool Disappearance Fix and Performance Issues

Hello everyone,

We sincerely apologize for the recent inconvenience with tools disappearing.

This issue has been permanently resolved for all current and new players. However, our solution may not recover progress for everyone. So please check if your tools have reappeared and if not follow instructions below.

VERY IMPORTANT: To ensure that you recover your tools, start the game from LOAD GAME not through the button continue!!!



If you did not recover your tools in the newest update - to ensure the best possible experience for everyone, we are offering assistance to anyone who has lost tool levels due to this bug.


Please follow the steps below to get your progress restored:

1. Join our Discord and click open-ticket

2. Let us know which tools levels you have lost.
3. Send us your save file.

To find your save files:

1. Type in windows explorer: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\StorageHunter\
2. Pack entire SAVED folder into a Zip/Rar

OR

1. Using Run Command Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
2. Type: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\StorageHunter\ and hit Enter.
3. Pack entire SAVED folder into a Zip/Rar

Once you’ve submitted the necessary information, we’ll work on resolving the issue for you ASAP.

[h3]Performance Drop After Last Update[/h3]
Some users have reported performance drops after the recent update. If you're experiencing this, we recommend the following steps to improve performance:
  • Verify game files on Steam. (You can follow this instruction).
  • Enable DLSS or FSR for optimized frame rates.
  • Consider disabling frame generation or ray tracing. IT’S IMPORTANT ON 30x and 40x Geforce graphic cards; those features are not working properly right now.
  • Limit FPS to 30/60, depending on your processor's capabilities.

We’ve made adjustments to the default settings as they generated the errors as well. If you notice FPS drops or visual glitches, try changing one of the graphics settings and then reverting back to your original choice—it may help stabilize performance.

MAJOR HOTFIX #2

Hello, Storage Hunters!

We're back with more fixes and improvements.

Here's what's been patched:

[h2]Fixed:[/h2]
  • Pawnshop: NPCs not appearing
  • Pawnshop: NPCs stopped buying items
  • Pawnshop: NPCs pathing
  • Auctions not showing up or appearing as finished
  • Items disappearing inside cars
  • Items vanishing underground
  • Items spoiling in chests
  • Crashes: Crashes should now be rare or non-existent. Remember to update your drivers and restart your PC after doing so. If you still experience crashes, please set your FPS limit to 60 and if you have an AMD graphic card pick FST in Additional Options or DLSS if you game high-end (30x and above) RTX graphic card.
  • Graphical glitches and performance: Visual issues should be resolved, and overall game performance is expected to improve.


[h3]Note: If auctions are still not showing up after loading a save, try sleeping in-game for a day or two to reset it.[/h3]

[h2]Fixes In Progress:[/h2]
  • Tools resetting: Disabled the trailer sale, which should reduce most tool-resetting bugs. Tools should reappear for some players, but we're working on a more permanent solution.
  • Items sticking together: We're working on a fix for items getting stuck to each other or chests.


Those two Fixes In Progress above should be in the next update later today or tomorrow.

Steam Deck Ready

Hello, Storage Hunters!

We're working hard to address some bugs that have turned out to be more complex than expected. Our team needs a little more time to fully resolve these issues, and we appreciate your patience.

But we have some other news for you - Storage Hunter Simulator is playable on Steam Deck!

For the best experience, we recommend using mid-to-high settings.

Also please toggle FSR to either Performance or Ultra Performance mode for a smooth experience.

Important: Don’t forget to pick the "Play Settings for Steam Deck" startup option to ensure everything runs smoothly!

Fixes and Troubleshooting

Hey, Storage Hunters!

First, we want to thank you for your patience as we work to fix the bugs some players are experiencing.

The majority of players are enjoying smooth gameplay, but for those encountering issues, we’ve been working non-stop since launch to resolve them. Remember, this is Early Access, and your feedback is crucial! If you run into problems, please report them to us on Discord—we’re discussing cases and fixing bugs almost around the clock.

Now, here’s what’s happening:

Tool App Issue

If yesterday’s hotfix didn’t resolve the issue with verification tools being stuck at level 0, there’s a workaround. Simply go to sleep in your starter home—the trailer. This was part of a fix for saves, and while it may cause problems for some existing saves, it shouldn’t affect new games.

Pawnshop Issues

We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear! The ongoing issues with the pawnshop system are frustrating—we get it. Our team is working on a fix right now, and we’re aiming to have it out later today. Keep an eye on the announcements for more updates!

In the meantime, some of our community members have found that saving and loading your game helps as a temporary workaround. This might also help with other minor bugs you’re experiencing.


Car and Warehouse Issues

Some players have reported confusion regarding cars and warehouses. We realize the interface at the start could be clearer, and that’s on us! We’re working on improving the initial guidance to make the early steps easier to understand.

Let’s clear that up:

[h2]No Car at the Start: [/h2]
In the full game, the car isn’t available immediately like it was in the demo. To unlock your car, follow the first mission steps:
  • Open your tablet and sign up for an auction.
  • Once you’ve signed up, you can go to your garage and pick up the car.

So don’t worry if it’s missing—just follow the mission flow!

[h2]Warehouse Location:[/h2]
Some players have mentioned they can’t find a warehouse. Your first warehouse is in front of your trailer from the very start of the game and next to the garage. Make sure to use it for storing all your loot!


Disappearing Items Overnight

We’re currently working on a fix for an issue where items left in your car overnight may disappear for some players. Until we resolve this, we highly recommend moving any valuable items to the warehouse before ending your day to avoid losing them.

Performance Issues

Storage Hunter Simulator on the base level is a well-optimized game and runs smoothly on older cards and even on the Steam Deck. Crashes are generally caused by outdated drivers or specific technical configurations, and we’re working on addressing those cases.

We’ve also been investigating performance problems, and here’s what we’ve found so far:

[h2]Graphics Drivers:[/h2]
The majority of crashes and lag are caused by outdated GeForce drivers. Updating to the latest version has helped many players run the game smoothly, even on high settings. We know it’s odd that other games might run fine on older drivers, but our game requires the latest version for optimal performance.

For Nvidia you also have to make sure you have the Game Ready Drivers.

[h2]Intel Processor Issues[/h2]
We’re still looking into issues with certain Intel processors, especially from the newest generation. It seems to be affecting newer games as well. If you’re experiencing crashes with one of these processors, please send us your crash logs—it’ll help us pinpoint the issue.

For experienced users, there’s a potential BIOS tweak available on this thread. But proceed with caution and at your own risk!

We’re actively investigating all reported crashes, and we need your help! If you continue to experience crashes even after updating your drivers, please send your crash logs to us. This will help us identify the root cause and speed up the fix!

[h2]DLSS Crashes on Older GeForce Cards:[/h2]
If you’re using an older GeForce card, such as a 1080, 1650, 20x or similar, please do not enable DLSS. These cards don’t support the technology, and enabling it may cause crashes. We’re working on a future update to automatically disable this option for cards that don’t support DLSS.

To turn off DLSS, go to settings > graphics > Additional Options > Pick TSR

  1. Type in windows explorer %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\StorageHunter\Saved\SaveGames
  2. Pack it into a Zip/Rar

Hotfix #1

Hey everyone!

We’ve just released a hotfix to address some of the most common issues - verification and repair tools and save files carried over from the demo.

[h2]Bug Fixes:[/h2]
Tool App Issue: We fixed a bug where the Tool app would appear empty, preventing players from purchasing new tools.

Demo Save Compatibility: A major issue with demo saves carrying over to Early Access has been resolved. Corrupted demo saves were causing crashes and performance problems.

Solution: Demo saves are no longer accessible in the Early Access version.

If you are still encountering crashes or performance issues, you may need to manually delete the demo saves (instructions below). If problems persist, reach out to us, and we’ll help you resolve them.

[h3]How to Delete Old Demo Saves:[/h3]
1. Go to: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\StorageHunter

Replace [YourUsername] with your actual username. The drive might differ depending on where you installed the game.

2. Delete the StorageHunter folder. Warning: This will remove all your saved progress.
