Dev Log: Energy System
Surviving Without Power

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share some exciting updates about the game! As you explore the island, you'll quickly notice something unusual—there’s no regular electricity here. But don’t worry, I’ve designed some unique and fascinating ways for you to power up devices and keep things running. Let me take you through how the island’s energy system works.
Daytime Power: Generators and Solar Panels
During the day, you’ll need to rely on generators and solar panels to power your devices. Generators are a dependable option, but they run on fuel, so make sure to keep those canisters handy for refills. For a more sustainable solution, you can craft solar panels—though they require advanced materials and crafting skills. It’s all about resourcefulness and planning!
Nighttime Magic: The Mysterious Light Beam
Here’s where things get a little strange. At night, a mysterious light beam provides electricity to the entire island. Suddenly, all the streetlights turn on, and every device comes to life without needing a generator or solar panel. It’s an eerie but fascinating phenomenon that adds a touch of mystery to your survival journey. Why does it happen? Well, you’ll have to play to find out.
Experimental Tech: Red Crystals and the Portal
I’m also introducing a new experimental power source—red crystals. Certain devices on the island, like the Portal, are powered by these crystals. To activate the Portal, you’ll need to hunt down and collect five red crystals. Once you’ve powered it up, the Portal can teleport you to a new area on the map—a winter biome with its own unique challenges and opportunities. It’s a game-changer for exploration and survival!

I hope this gives you a better idea of how the island’s energy system works. It’s not just about finding fuel or crafting advanced tech; it’s also about uncovering the mysteries of the island and adapting to its unique environment. I can’t wait to hear what you think about these features. Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions!
Don't forget to add game to Wishlist!
Dev Log: Farming
Hey everyone!
I'm excited to share some new farming features that I've been working on for the game. These features are aimed at making your survival experience even more immersive and rewarding. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect:
Building Garden Beds
You can now build Garden Beds in your farm location. These beds are perfect for planting and growing a variety of plants. Whether you're looking to grow herbs or vegetables, garden beds are essential for your farming journey.
Crafting a Farming Station (Shed)
One of the new additions is the ability to craft a Farming Station, also known as a shed. Here you will be able to craft new seeds.
Getting Started with Planting
To start planting, you'll need to have seeds and garden soil. You can find seeds throughout the game world or craft them from vegetables and fruits using the Garden Shed with the Farming Station. Garden soil is essential for providing your plants with the nutrients they need to grow.
Watering Your Plants
Once you've planted your seeds, you'll need to add water to help them grow. You can use a bucket to water your plants, ensuring they stay healthy and grow efficiently. Remember to check on them regularly to keep them hydrated!
Harvesting Your Crops
After your plants have finished growing, you can harvest them for eating or cooking. There are several types of plants you can grow, including herbs, beets, cabbage, carrots, eggplants, radishes, potatoes, peppers, berries. Each plant has its own unique benefits and uses, so experiment and find out which ones work best for you.
Building Greenhouses
To enhance your farming experience, you can build Greenhouses. These structures improve the growing conditions and speed up the growth of your plants. Additionally, you can upgrade your farming skills at the Knowledge Station to unlock more farming abilities and optimize your crop production.

Collecting Berries and Mushrooms

While exploring the island, you can also collect berries and mushrooms in the forest. These resources are valuable for crafting, cooking, and survival. Keep an eye out for them during your adventures!

Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to share and don't forget to WISHLIST and FOLLOW Outbreak Island.

Dev Log: Players Menu (Pre-Final), Abilities
Hey everyone!
I'm super excited to share some details about the game I'm working on. We've shared glimpses of this before as a work in progress, but now it's more final and polished. Let me take you through the Player's Menu, which is your go-to place for everything you'll need in the game.
Exploring with Confidence: The Map
Your journey begins with the map. As you explore new territories, the map will reveal all the locations you can discover, each one filled with resources and secrets. Keep an eye out for landmarks that might be crucial to your survival.
Organizing Your Gear: The Inventory
Survival isn't just about what you find; it's about how you manage it. I've designed the inventory system with separate slots for ammo and other items, making it easy to find what you need. There's also a weight system, so you'll have to be smart about what you carry. Balance is key!
Keeping Track: Story Quests Journal
The Story Quests Journal is where you'll find all the main quests and storylines. This is your guide through the game, helping you stay on track and uncover the mysteries of the world. Whether you're forging alliances or uncovering secrets, the journal has got you covered.
Taking on Challenges
Survival is about more than just staying alive, it's about rising to the occasion. The Challenges section offers various tasks like crafting car upgrades or surviving for a set number of days. Completing these challenges will reward you with resources and achievements that will help you on your journey.
Learning the Basics: Tutorials
For those new to survival crafting or looking to hone their skills, the Tutorials section is full of helpful guides. From crafting basics to advanced techniques, these tutorials will ensure you make the most out of every opportunity.
Unlocking Abilities: Knowledge Points and the Knowledge Station
As you complete challenges and story quests, you'll earn knowledge points. These points are invaluable and can be spent on a variety of abilities at the Knowledge Station. Whether you want to become a sharpshooter, enhance your resilience, or master the art of stealth, the Knowledge Station has something for everyone. Each ability requires a certain number of knowledge points to unlock, so choose wisely and enhance your survival skills to the max!

Dev Log: New Items, Quests, Locations, Rest and Sleep
Hello, adventurers!
We have a lot of exciting news on the development of Outbreak Island. Over the past month, we've added plenty of new elements that will make your survival on the island even more engaging!
New Items
To survive, you'll need plenty of useful things. We’ve added new items like weapons, firewood, motor oil, various foods, and a wide range of crafting resources.
New Containers
All these items need to be stored somewhere — carrying everything with you just isn’t possible! Now, you’ll be able to use new containers for storage and find them in various locations around the island. Make sure to thoroughly search every corner because these containers could hold valuable items!
Quests and Quest Log
Your trusty guide to exploring the island is the updated quest log.

The log will display quests that will help you survive and uncover the island's mysteries.
Car Compass
During our tests, we noticed that we sometimes lost track of the car, especially after exploring new areas. To solve this, we’ve added a marker on the compass that will always show where your vehicle is parked. Now, you won’t get lost anymore!
Swimming and Oxygen System
Now the main character can swim properly! In the previous version, this was possible, but now the system works correctly in all bodies of water.

Some secret places can only be found underwater, but don’t forget to watch your oxygen levels. You can’t stay submerged for too long, so make sure to come up for air in time!
Two New Locations
We continue to fill the island with interesting locations, each holding pieces of the puzzle needed to uncover the island's secrets, as well as loot for your survival.
Cemetery
A hidden cemetery, deep in the woods. What secrets does it hold?
Training Ground
A military training ground. Why were there so many soldiers on this small island? What were they doing here?
Sleep
Sleep is vital for survival! This month, we’ve added a fatigue system and the ability to restore energy by sleeping. Now, you can sleep in the watchtower or in your old farmhouse to save the game and recover your energy.

Are you keeping a regular sleep schedule?
Farm Renovation
Your farm is in ruins, but you can bring it back to life. One of your tasks will be to restore the house, build new garden beds, and greenhouses. Turn this plot into a livable space!

Add the game to your Steam wishlist, and we’ll see you on Outbreak Island!

Work in Progress: shooting, vehicle, locations and optimization
Hello, mystery seekers!
Today, we want to share some news about the development progress of Outbreak Island, covering locations, vehicle improvements, shooting mechanics, and optimization.
Location Enhancements and More Loot
Until recently, the roads between locations on the island were quite barren, but now we’ve added various objects like houses, abandoned cars, and much more. And all these objects aren’t empty — you’ll be able to find valuable items in them.

By the way, speaking of items, we’re developing a system that will distribute various items across locations. You’ll now need a vehicle to transport all the essential crafting and survival items back to your base.
Vehicle Improvements
The vehicle is your indispensable companion for survival on the island, so we continue to enhance it.

The first thing we've improved is the vehicle’s physics. We've reworked the suspension behavior, improved collision physics, and enhanced the car's off-road capability.

But your vehicle, like you, is not invincible. It will take damage from bullets, heavy collisions, and attacks from various creatures. Who knows what you might encounter on the roads of Outbreak Island.
New Bullet Impact Effects and Explosive Objects
A blown-up car isn't the most pleasant sight, but what about exploding fuel barrels? You can detonate them when enemies are gathered around.

We’ve added various bullet impact effects for different objects. Now you can shoot at anything!
Game Optimization
We’ve also focused on optimizing the game and have achieved significant improvements, doubling the FPS in some locations.
