Demo Patch Notes Jan 24th

Changes:
- Remapping of axis mappings (WASD camera movement etc.)
- Show component range effect around entity while hovering mouse over equipped component
- Show power grid temporarily while hovering over logistics network and shutdown button in frame view
- Allow taking out items reserved on explorables (even if reserved by another faction)
- Show up to 4 registers instead of 3 per row next to equipped components
- Add internal socket on beacon
- Getting started codex entry update
- Support dropped items as input for "Check free space for item" behavior instruction

Fixes:
- Fix memory leak and potential crash when leaving the game paused with too many effects on screen
- Avoid faction game over if deploying while deploy lander is the only owned unit
- Avoid change of zoom while having the camera follow a bot that moves onto a ramp
- Auto refresh health tooltip while open
- Replace deny icon ("X") in register selection with remove icon (garbage can)
- When copying a prefab blueprint to clipboard, remove the prefab flag
- Tooltips on minimap zoom buttons
- Invert order of frame registers in behavior editor
- Improve "Take All" button on explorables
- Add "Show local power grid of selected unit" filter to power tab of control center
- Don't show empty power grids (without any generated/received/load/unused power) among largest power grid in resource bar power tooltip
- In production selection default to infinite amount for basic material items while still defaulting to 1 for components and bots
- Replaced Needs Scanner message with NOT IN DEMO
- Made foundation plate icon more distinguishable
- Remove shortcuts when unit dies
- Fix wind turbine animation speed and light component color
- Improve performance of movement path line drawing

Demo Speedrun Challenge

Played 71 hours in the last three days? Think you've got the Desynced demo mastered? Wanna see how a different approach can speed things up? Then this challenge is for you!
During the Base Builder Fest submit a screenshot of your fastest time in the demo and see how you stack up!
On January 29th at 9PM JST (12PM UTC), the devs will stream and try to beat your times while answering questions you have!
Also be on the lookout for devs dropping in community streams all week!

Rules:

- Start a single or multiplayer game in the Demo Version
- Seed must be set to "0"
- All other options left at default
- Play until you get the splash screen that shows you your time
- Single and co-op times both ok to submit!
- Post a screenshot of the demo ending and your time in the Steam Community thread, on the Stage Games Discord, or on Twitter (make sure to tag it with #desyncedgame).
- KEEP YOUR SAVE! We will need it to verify the authenticity of the fastest times.
- Feel free to post times up to and beyond the end of Base Builder Fest! We'll challenge those we get by the start of the dev stream on the 29th!

We're excited to share that Desynced demo will be featured during the Steam Base Builder Fest starting January 23rd!

Of course, the demo supports multiplayer and saves are planned to work with the release version! See how fast you can finish it before it's gone and give it a wishlist!

Play alone or in MULTIPLAYER with other demo players. Saves from the demo(should) carry over when we release the game to retail!

Things to note:

  • Like the alpha, there are no restrictions on streaming or otherwise showing the demo to others.
  • the demo is limited to the first Robots tech tree. Bet you can still get pretty dang creative with that!
  • There are missing story-related explorables and story elements (NO SPOILERS!)
  • Saves from the alpha do not work with the demo, but they should work the other way (demo -> alpha)
  • Likewise, alpha version and demo cannot play together. If you wanna jam with your friends, make sure you're playing the same version.
  • You may notice that the demo records your completion time. More on this soon..
