v0.8.4 New Tools Update

Major Changes
Tutorial Maps / Premade Maps:
An extensive tutorial map has been added to guide new players through the basics of GME. It's accessible from the main menu or while loading a map in-game.
A new "premade" category is now available when you go to "load map", featuring 32 premade maps for quick and diverse gameplay options.
First Person View:
First-person mode is finally here! Players can now switch to this mode by right-clicking on a mini they control and selecting the silhouette icon. Alternatively, pressing CTRL-O drops you into first-person view, and pressing it again returns you to free-flying mode.
Quick Measuring:
Measure distances quickly by holding ALT and click-dragging from one point to another. You can also add waypoints to your measurement by clicking while holding ALT. When dragging a mini, tapping ALT allows for waypoint-based measurement too.
Colored Miniatures:
The minis section now includes colored and recolorable miniatures. For those interested in contributing to this feature, join us on Discord—recolor minis by opening their radial menu and selecting the paintbrush icon.
Quick Grouping:
Group objects easily by clicking on an object (A), hovering over another (B), and pressing CTRL-G. Object A will follow Object B when moved, and you can adjust its relative position.
Mini Quick Access Improvement:
The Quick Access for minis now saves coloration, including for multi-colored minis. When you save a mini, all attached objects are also saved, allowing quick access to fully equipped minis.
Prop Trash Bin:
Deleted objects are now moved to a trash bin, where they can be recovered until the map is saved. The trash bin is located in the top right corner of the screen in the World Manager.

Minor Changes
Key Rebinding's:
Customize your key bindings in-game using the keyboard button in the top right. A comprehensive overview of shortcuts is also available in this section.
Campaign Management:
GME now automatically sorts maps into campaigns based on their names, streamlining map organization. The save menu provides options for saving maps as part of a campaign.
Selection Box & Grouping Box:
Use G and left-click drag to create a selection box, or use the right mouse button for a grouping box. Follow on-screen instructions for these useful features.
Improved Snapping:
The snapping system has been refined. With Grid-Snap turned on (Y key), objects snap into a 5-foot-grid. Grid-Snapping and Z-Snapping now work simultaneously.
New Ocean Options:
Two new water styles are available in the ocean settings, complete with an underwater effect.
Scrolls, Books, Chests Interactivity:
Books and chests can now be interacted with by right-clicking. Books update in real-time, and chests can be locked for player exploration.
Grid Object & Support Plane:
New GM tool objects, including the "Grid Object" for displaying a 5-foot-grid and the "Support Plane Object" which is invisible to players but useful for placing flying characters or objects.
Open Maps Folder:
Easily access your maps folder from the main menu or save/load window. Look for "premade__" maps which are automatically created for you.
Orthographic Camera:
Switch to the top-down view for an option to use an orthographic camera, useful for creating 2D maps from 3D environments.
Dice Improvements:
Roll various dice types simultaneously and use Alt+Left Click for quick, non-physical dice rolls.
New Winter-Themed Dice:
A free winter-themed dice pack has been added to the DLC options, a gift from the developers to the players.

Tools Update - v0.8.3

Fog of War

Yes! You wanted it, so it's here now. In a mini's permission menu (right-click the mini, then click the silhouette button) you can set up Fog of war per player for that mini.
Explore dungeons and even landscapes (we added a "Show Sky" mode!) in a completely new way!

New Rock Objects
Eighty new variants of rocks have been added to allow you to create more versatile landscapes. They are available in the free version, too.

Simple Shape Object

It is an incredibly versatile object that can display any texture you tell it to. You can plop 2D maps on the ground or put artwork on the walls of your museum!

Improved Light Sources

Any light source in the game can now be right-clicked and set up individually. You can change color, size, brightness, etc. We're thrilled to see your colorful maps.

Image Filters

You can now set up image filters for you and all your players. You can achieve various visual effects on the scene, like background blur, color inversion,
a choice of 25+ color palettes, oil painting art style, and even matrix style. These are not for screenshots only but can be played in! Thrilled to see what you make of it.

Mini Measuring

By holding the alt-key and click-dragging, you can now measure directly from a mini without needing a ruler and moving the mini.

Improved Grouping

Objects can now be grouped with other objects either via a selection box (hold G, then click-drag on the ground) or via quick grouping (click an object, then hover
over the object you want to attach it to with your mouse and hit Control-G. You can remove these attachments with Alt-G. You can use this to put helmets on to minis! :)

Maximum Camera Height Increased

Some people wanted to build tall mountains and stuff, and now they can.

Mini Materials

Apart from Importing your minis, you can now assign unique elemental textures to your miniatures.

Base Dice Improved

There are now four dice styles available right away in the game. Red, blue, green, black.

Dice Collections

There is now one optional dice pack to unlock on Steam. You don't need this to play at all, but getting it helps our development efforts and our vision to persist.
The pack has six different dice styles: Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Obsidian and Alabaster. All have been hand-crafted with love and we are very happy with them.
Our pricing policy has always been not to drain our users, but to be fair and open to them, and we want to keep it that way. This DLC allows those who want to support us to do so while getting a cool dice set for it, while it allows us to keep the game as affordable as possible for everyone.
