Winter Outlook: Winter Update & Steam Awards

The end of the year is just around the corner and we would like to give you a short overview of what you can expect for the winter holidays for Dorfromantik.


Finally we get to share it with you! Thanks to you, our wonderful community, we were nominated as one of 5 games for this year's Steam Awards in the Sit Back and Relax category.
We are very honored and of course we hope that we can win, so that we can finish a wonderful year of Dorfromantik together with you. You can help us by voting for Dorfromantik in the Sit Back and Relax category. Voting will be possible from next Wednesday December 22nd and throughout the Winter Sale continue.

We have completed a new content update for you to coincide with the Winter Sale and the voting period for the Steam Awards. Starting next week, you can expect our winter update if you want to play a relaxing session of Dorfromantik over the holidays.
What we can already reveal, there is definitely a new biome, which we may have already teased here somewhere ;) To hopefully get some uncertainties out of the way right away, as some questions came up regarding the previous content update for Halloween:

• The Winter Biome will be unlocked for everyone directly in the game during the Winter Sale.
  
• After that, it will still remain permanently in the game, but needs to be unlocked like all other biomes by completing the Landscaper challenge.
  

We'll share more information with you next week about the update with the start of the Winter Sale.


The Winter Sale will start next week Wednesday, December 22 and will last 2 weeks until January 5. During this time you can buy Dorfromantik and the soundtrack with 10% discount or give it to someone as a gift. We've also teamed up with our friends to put together games that we all love and think fit Dorfromantik very well into a wonderful Serene City Builder Bundle, which will be discounted combined.

While we will put out a proper Showcase announcement - We have heard you!

From now, until January 14th, we will be running a special Winter Edition Community Showcase! Build us a scene that makes us want to go walking in a winter wonderland, Go ham with the new Midwinter Biome, maybe sprinkle in a secondary one where appropriate.
Voting will start on January 10th, submissions as usual via Discord or, once we set it up, the Community Showcase Announcement comments.


Of course, no End-Of-Year post would be complete without wishing all of you awesome people happy holidays. No matter if/what you celebrate, we hope you can be with your loved ones, despite everything that is still happening in the world, and just take a break from all that less than wonderful stuff.
Us six Toukans certainly will take some much needed and, hopefully, well-deserved time off, to recharge our batteries and creativity tanks. There is only one way to go after New Year's, after all, and that is the way towards Version 1.0!

Eat well, take plenty of naps, and enjoy. We've all earned it! 💛
