For this Creative Showcase, the Theme is Summer Jam!
Summer Jam is intended as an open, vaguely summer-related theme.
Be creative with this one - Whether it is your favourite swimming spot at a lake, an ice-cream cone, or Santa surfing in Shorts for our friends from the southern hemisphere, have some fun with it!
The Showcase will run until 2023-07-25 2359 CEST.

We welcome all submissions from across all platforms. We ask, however, that you take your Submission Screenshots with the UI disabled. To hide your UI, press TAB on your Keyboard or the SELECT button or equivalent on your controller. Submissions are preferably posted as .png files.

[h2]Participation[/h2]
To participate you need to JOIN OUR DISCORD first of all. Same if you'd like to vote.
For a submission to be valid the following stipulations have to be fulfilled:

• YOU need to be the author of the submission
  
• A Submission is required to HIDE THE UI (TAB on KB/M, SELECT on Controller)
  
• A submission has to be an unedited Screenshot, preferably in .png file format.

BY SUBMITTING A SCREENSHOT TO A CREATIVE SHOWCASE, YOU ALLOW US TO USE YOUR SUBMISSION FOR MARKETING PURPOSES WITHOUT CREDITING YOU AS THE AUTHOR. (Note that we try to credit where possible but is sadly isn't always possible)

[h2]How does it work?[/h2]
The Creative Showcase will be held on Discord only!
We will post announcements whenever we hold Showcases and will share the results everywhere, but participation and voting may only occur on Discord as that makes it easier for us!

Speaking of Voting, we have revamped how we handle Voting for Showcases massively:

• You may cast as many votes as you'd like
  
• There are four categories of Votes now
  
• Voting will be available all through the Submission phase!

You will now be able to cast four different kinds of Votes as well, each pertaining to a different kind of "Liking" a submission. The different kinds of Votes are:

• 👍 ENJOY
  • This is your 'basic' vote. You 'enjoy', or 'like', that submission.
• 🎨 ARTSY
  • Artsy is used to highlight submissions which you think represent interesting interpretations of the Theme.
• 🤯 MINDBLOWING
  • Found a Submission you think goes above and beyond? Remember the Dragon Island of the Showcases of old? Yup, those are Mindblowing!
• 😆 FUNNY
  • The Submission made you chuckle? you are obligated to vote it as FUNNY!

Themes will be selected from a pool that we will happily add suggestions to, and once the pool is empty we'll start to recycle them, should we get to that point. We are also going to experiment with 'Modifiers' like restricting shape and size of your submissions (Think our Dioramas for reference), as well as other fun things!

This post is just a quick-y to share the awesome submissions for our first (returning) Creative Showcase with everyone, and to let you know a couple things regarding the Creative Showcase going forward!

[h2]Results[/h2]

Let's start with the fun stuff! We have had a total of 5 Submissions, and voting results made it very easy on us to feature each one for one of our four voting categories since the fifth is pretty much out of competition.

First off, we have <>'s submission. They got the most 👍 ENJOY votes.


Next is keeliex, who made the arguably most 🎨ARTSY submission.


As one of our High-Score Gurus, TDN_Mike never disappoints, and he once again delivered a 🤯 MINDBLOWING submission (Just like his High Scores).


Lasty, Siman made everyone chuckle with their printer-ink inspired, very 😆FUNNY, Black Forest submission!


And then there's our very own Dom, who made the background image for this Creative Showcase. 😉


[h2]The Next Creative Showcase[/h2]

The next Creative Showcase will start some time next week, though our intention is to space the Creative Showcases apart a bit more in the future. We will not spoil any details yet but we do hope you will enjoy it at least as much as this first one!

[h2]I want to participate or vote, how do I do that?![/h2]

First off, awesome of you to want to be active in the Creative Showcase!
Due to some logistical concerns, we have come to the conclusion that Discord would be the best place to collect submissions and votes. So, if you'd like to participate we are more than happy to welcome you to the Toukana Interactive Discord Server!

We do know that not everyone is interested in joining another Discord Server / Discord in General. However, as this Contest is open to all players, holding it somewhere central to the community as a whole just makes it a lot easier for us.

Hey everyone!
We just wanted to give you all a quick heads up that the Board Game Adaptation of Dorfromantik has been nominated for the coveted "Spiel des Jahres" Award! We are super hyped about this, as are our partners over at Pegasus Spiele who take care of the publishing, and the authors, Michael Palm and Lukas Zach!

In the past, some of the nominees (and winners) of the "Spiel des Jahres" Award have been juggernauts such as Settles of Catan, Carcasonne, Dominion, and 7 Wonders. It is one of the most important Awards in the Board Game Space!

If you have not yet gotten a copy of the Board Game, you might want to get one for some quality time away from the screen. 😉
