Although we'd love to have more vacation time, summer is slowly waning; School is starting up again, and we are closing in on holiday season quickly!
September's Monthly Challenge will have you become industrious little bees - There are no trees, but everything else is dialed up, difficulty included!

We are back after fumbling the announcement last month due to Social Media turning into a dumpster fire. Sorry about that! (The fumbling, that is. We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the Social Media world's been turning.)

August's Monthly Mode is all about cool, fresh water. Will your wetlands be the biggest, wettest wetlands in the competition? You will also find that Quests are slightly harder than usual, but that won't make you sweat - The weather already took care of that after all! ;)

We are thrilled to announce that Dorfromantik will be part of Simfest – the Steam festival celebrating all things related to simulation games.
From today through the 24th of July, 10am PDT 2023, you will be able to experience some of the latest and greatest simulation titles, in addition to what the future holds for the simulation genre with other coming soon games. From simulators which cover hobbies you would love to experience to job simulators which revolve around your dream career (even out of this world ones), Simfest will feature a wide variety of titles in the genre.

We are super happy to report that our Boardgame partners, authors Michael Palm, Lukas Zach, and publisher Pegasus Spiele have gone and done it!
For the first time a board game adaptation of a video game has won the coveted "Spiel des Jahres" Award, which is one of the most important awards in the board game sphere. Dorfromantik thus follows in the footsteps of well-known board games such as Settlers of Catan and Carcasonne.

[h2]What's Next?[/h2]
So glad you asked! There is a bunch of stuff going to happen on the board game side of things! First of all, there will be a "Specialist Store" Edition, which is going to contain a Mini-Expansion "The big Mill" which comes with two new cards and a Mill display piece, in addition to the base game.
If you already own Dorfromantik - The Boardgame, no worries! The Mini-Expansion will be available stand-alone as well! Planned Release for these is in August (Though international releases may need a bit more time).

Dorfromantik - The Duel will bring a competitive twist to your favourite board game! Vaguely based on Concepts like our Monthly Mode, two teams will play against each other with the same tiles, building their own little worlds, while trying to trump the other team's score! With two new kinds of Tasks in Double- and All-Around-Tasks, which can also be used in the base game, as well as two additional modules for additional Interaction and challenges, Dorfromantik has never been better on cardboard!
If you plan to visit the SPIEL board-game convention in Essen later this year, you better make sure to play it!

[h2]What about the video game?[/h2]
We are cooking a lot of things right now. Some of it Dorfromantik-related, some not.
As we said in April, we are well-aware of your various requests, especially for additional platforms. We hope to have some exciting news for you at a later point in time this year. For now, let's celebrate the board game just a little bit, though. 😉
