BETA PATCH - 1.0.3b

[h2]New Game Modes[/h2]
Yup, we're not done yet! We have the first look at some additional Game Modes you'll be able to choose from with 1.0! They will all come with their own leaderboards, as well, so all the more chances to get to see your name up there in the Top Spots!
Disclaimer: Quick Mode and Hard Mode are not fully balanced yet, and we will erase their Leaderboards for the proper 1.0 Release on the 28th.

[h3]Quick Mode ๐Ÿ‡[/h3]
Quick Mode allows for a short and snappy session of Dorfromantik. Try to beat your Highscore by collecting as many points as possible with a limited number of tiles to place!
This Mode has a hard limit of placeable tiles, like our demos did, and is meant as an finite alternative to Classic Mode.

[h3]Hard Mode ๐Ÿ”ฅ[/h3]
Play a more difficult version of Dorfromantik in the Hard Mode - Fewer Quests, a steeper difficulty curve, and more complex tiles.
This Mode is meant for those looking for a bigger, badder challenge to tackle. With fewer Quests, tile placement becomes even more important, but will those complex tiles be helpful?

[h3]Monthly Mode ๐Ÿ“…[/h3]
Monthly Mode offers a new configuration of Custom Rules and a fixed Seed each month. Enjoy the variety and compete with other on the Map of The Month!
This is our take on 'long-term' modes, like Daily or Weekly. We decided for the monthly challenge because this infers the least amount of FOMO, as well as Dorfromantik generally allowing for some longer lasting sessions and we'd like to give everyone enough to time to really sink their teeth into these!
If you have any interesting Custom Mode Seeds, we'd love for you to share them so we can start populating a list for the Monthly Mode alongside our own ideas!

  • Improved performance of highlighting big groups (also performance of rotating a tile while connected to a highlighted group)
  • Changed a few things to improve fast loading speed

  • Added tooltips to all custom rules in Custom Mode, to menu tabs, buttons, some settings
  • Changed tooltip priority order - setting Tooltips to "Basic" in the settings menu will only display menu & UI tooltips, setting it to "Detailed" will also display ingame tooltips (e.g. while hovering over Quest bubbles)

  • Fixed issue of a challenge fulfilled fx staying displayed and the game getting stuck when fulfilling a challenge after loading a save game
  • Fixed Ingame camera turning off when loading a small world and quickly pressing the Fast Load button
  • Fixed Arabic font in Custom Mode config screen
  • Fixed Russian tilestack tooltip translation
  • Fixed tileslots not reappearing when connecting a preplaced tile and undoing the connection
  • Fixed tooltips not showing properly while loading a savegame
  • Completed challenges can no longer be pinned
  • Pinning a challenge now also works if not currently in Classic Mode

    Other
  • Perfect placement ratio should now be displayed correctly while loading (older savegames need to be loaded once to initialize the value though)
  • Removed "Load at Once" and "Group Highlighting" toggles
  • Updated English & German translations

    Custom Mode
  • New game mode in Game selection screen: the Custom Mode
  • Start a new game in custom mode to open the configuration screen, where you can customize element probabilities and rules
  • ๐ŸŒป Deterministic seed: The first part (first 6 digits) of the configuration string displayed in the configuration screen determines the order of generated tiles. This enables you to compete with others on the exact same map.
  • ๐ŸŒป Copy and paste the configuration string to share your setup with others - the seed determining the tile generation order as well as all custom defined rules and element probabilities
  • ๐ŸŒป Implemented customizable rules are: tile stack height, tile limit, quest probability, quest difficulty, flag quest probability, landscape density

    UI Improvements
  • Reworked sliders & dropdowns in some parts of the menu
  • Updated tutorial section in game mode selection screen

  • Added "Load At Once" option to settings menu (this makes fast loading even faster, but freezes the game and causes it to become unresponsive until loading is completed)

  • ๐ŸŒป Fixed challenges getting registered multiple times and not getting unregistered when switching between savegames. This could result in challenge fulfilled effects being triggered multiple times, but also in other faulty behaviour, like tiles not being placed but counting for score
  • ๐ŸŒป Fixed preplaced tile quests not triggering immediately when directly fulfilled or failed while the preplaced tile is connected

Dorfromantik Full Release Date Revealed



We are happy to announce that, after a year of Early Access, Dorfromantik is going to celebrate its Full Release on April 28th!

We'd like to thank you for all the Feedback, Bug Reports, High Scores, and beautiful Landscapes you helped with and created during Early Access. This is just the start as we are already working hard on what comes after. We will not be done with Dorfromantik come Full Release and hope you will continue to accompany us on our journey!

We won't go into detail about what might lie beyond the horizon except one thing:
There will not be a cooperation with Netflix for a Dorfromantik show, and Chris Pratt will definitely not be playing a mouse cursor. You know who you are! ๐Ÿ˜‰

UPDATE: Price Change

As we previously stated during the Early Access phase, we would like to thank all players who have already put their trust into us and Dorfromantik with the current, reduced price. It is always a hard decision to support a new, unproven studio that has put out an Early Access title, so we honestly appreciate your trust!
With the Early Access phase coming to a close on April 28th, we will be raising Dorfromantik's price on March 29th in order to be able to offer a Launch Discount with the full price. For this, Steam requires us to increase the price at least 30 days in advance, as you can read here for yourself.
