Meet the Modder: Glitchworks
Hello SnowRunners!
Today, Glitchworks joins us to answer some questions about themself, modding, and their experience with SnowRunner!
How did you discover SnowRunner? What about it appealed to you?
I've been a long time fan of the entire series. When it first launched, there was nothing like it on the market at the time and there really still isn't anything quite like it.
How did you get into gaming?
Back in the early 80's my parents had an Atari 2600 console (yes I'm that old) and it just snowballed from there. I had most of the major consoles through my teen years and finally moved into PC gaming about 7 years ago.
Could you tell us a little bit about your background?
Well, I'm 43, happily married, living in Florida, and am legally blind. I have a degree I.T. and took a lot of drafting, CAD, and art courses in high school. I had a lengthy career selling building supplies for home improvement before taking an early retirement due to my eyesight. Now I spend most of my time building mods for Snowrunner.
Mod: GWC G-One
What got you into modding?
Curiosity. I started to really get interested in how the xml files within Snowrunner worked after reading some of the messages in the modding section of the forum. One thing led to another and a couple of months later I was releasing the Generic Mud Truck as my first full fledged mod vehicle.
Have you modded for any other games?
Nope, not yet at least.
What's your favourite SnowRunner mod?
It would be biased and egotistical to name something I built myself. I’ve always enjoyed JBoosted's tweaks, mostly his P16 and his Tatarin.
What would be your dream change or addition to SnowRunner?
This is a tough one honestly. As a player, I'd have to say having the ability to lock the diffs without needing to select L. I know it's a small thing, but it's the main reason why my mods have permanent diff lock always on. Now, as a modder, there are a few things I'd like to see changed, but at this moment, being able to adjust camber angles on independant suspensions would be a life saver.
Mod: GWC Quack Pack
What’s your favorite thing about SnowRunner?
Now that I know how to mod, the customization. I love taking parts from truck A and putting them on truck B. The vanilla levels of customization are great and Im forever thankful it was added to the game over MudRunner.
What advice would you give to people who would like to get into modding?
Learn how to read the XML files. Know what each file does, what the tags mean, what the different sections within the file do. It will save you hours and hours of heartache and head scratching when you are trying to spawn your newly made 3d model into the game for the first time.
Working on any exciting mod at the moment?
I have a couple of mods in the works. Ive got the G150 PreRunner hopefully debuting as you read this and the GWC Bulldog Colossus is right behind that. Plus an ultra detailed truck that I havent quite decided on the name just yet.
What’s your all-time favourite real life vehicle? What about SnowRunner vehicle?
Well, my all time favorite real life vehicle is a 1989 Camaro IROC-Z (I know not very SnowRunner worthy). SnowRunner vehicle... well, probably either the P512 or P12. P12 for stock vanilla, P512 once it's been tweaked to add in awd and a better tire selection.
Wildcard Question: Trucks are pretty cool but have you considered Dinosaurs? If you could ride one, which would it be?
My favorite dinosaur has always been the Triceratops... which is good because it wouldn't try to eat me if I rode it.
A Triceratops! All that remains is for someone to mod it, eh? 😉

Thank you so much for joining us!
