The grand return of one of the most famous PC strategy games gets bigger very soon, as Age of Empires 4 developer Relic Entertainment reveals its first expansion for the 2021 RTS. Age of Empires 4 DLC The Sultans Ascend is set to arrive in mid-November, and it will bring two of the top-requested civilizations into the fold, along with two biomes, ten maps, four variant civs, an all-new campaign, and a wealth of additional unlockable content. Age of Empires IV: Everything in the Expansion - Coming November 14th

The release of The Sultans Ascend expansion for Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition is just around the corner on November 14th on Steam!

Over the last few weeks, we have slowly been revealing aspects of the expansion and have been overjoyed seeing your enthusiasm and discussion leading up to launch day. As we round the last days before the expansion’s release, we want to give a final review of all the exciting content to come:

2 top-requested civilizations – the Byzantines and the Japanese
4 variant civilizations
10 new maps
2 new biomes
8-mission single-player campaign
Plus lots of unlockable content, including Masteries and Achievements!

The Order of the Dragon Civ Variant Coming To the Expansion

The Order of the Dragon is a variant of the Holy Roman Empire civilization in Age of Empires IV and will be available with the expansion.

The Order of the Dragon boasts quality over quantity. With extensively trained and lavishly outfitted nobles bolstering their ranks, the Order of the Dragon excels at raising an elite army unlike any other.  
Equipped with superior armor, weaponry, and training, the Order of the Dragon’s military lives longer, hits harder, and attacks from greater range than their counterparts. Each unit has specific traits that enhance its capabilities, allowing players to employ a variety of powerful military compositions and counters to thwart their enemies. 

A focus on quality carries over into the Order of the Dragon’s economy. Villagers are more expensive, but are hardier, gather faster, and construct buildings more quickly.

Routine server updates and maintenance.

[h3]DETAILS[/h3]This coming Wednesday, October 25th, the platform team will be taking the multiplayer servers down for regular maintenance. Please note:

Ranked matchmaking will disabled exactly one hour before the maintenance window to prevent disruption to newly-formed matches.

Any matches still in progress at the start of the maintenance window will be disrupted when it begins.

DURING THE MAINTENANCE WINDOW, YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO LAUNCH THE GAME, BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCHMAKE OR ACCESS ANY ONLINE FEATURES.

To prevent any interruptions, we recommend wrapping up any games at least 10 minutes before the maintenance window. The downtime is expected to last between 1 and 2 hours. You can watch this thread with any changes to the schedule as they arise, as well as the all-clear when the maintenance is complete.
