Greetings from the Survival Quiz CITY Development Team!

Last weekend we gave the keys to Survival Quiz CITY over to thousands of players and we’re happy to say that we had a successful launch! Thank you to everyone who purchased SQC, and everyone who gave our unique blend of quiz and action gaming a try via our Visitor's Pass. It’s been a pleasure seeing so many people enjoying the game.

Despite the success, there are still many areas that we know we can improve. There are times, such as late at night or in the morning when it is difficult to get a Quick Match. We apologize for the inconvenience. After some consideration, the dev team believes that some changes to the matching logic this weekend will make it easier for everyone to join Quick Matches.

In order to implement the changes, we’ll be undergoing maintenance at the following times:
Friday, 2022/3/11 10:00-11:00 JST


[h3]UPDATES[/h3]
■”Quicker” Quick Matches
Currently, Quick Matches will not start unless 30 players gather. We’re reducing this number to 15.
Also, when you can't find a match and have to retry searching for a match, it makes your waiting time longer because you have to go back to the end of the waiting list. To avoid, we made some adjustments not to let you auto timeout.

■Quick Match Rule Rotations
Rules for Quick Matches now rotate between Survival and Bounty Hunter every two hours. Because Bounty Hunter matches tend to take a little longer, we’ve noticed that players have an easier time finding matches under Survival Rules. We’re updating the rotation schedule so that Bounty Hunter rules are only selected in Quick Matches during peak hours. Survival Rules will be used during off-peak hours.

21:00 - 22:00 04:00 - 05:00
23:00 - 24:00 06:00 - 07:00



SQC Quick Matches will only run "Survival Rules" in the times outside of those listed above. We will try this policy as an experiment this time. We’d love to hear feedback from the community about the changes.

Of course, if you want to play Bounty Hunter Rules, you can look through the available Custom Match rooms or start a room of your own.

■Display the average waiting time on the matching screen
We have received feedback that it is difficult to know how long it will take to get matched, so we will display the estimated time it takes to join on the search screen.

■Errors due to Rule switches
Some players may have experienced an error if they were in the middle of joining a Quick Match when the rules rotated. We will change the timing of the switch between the Bounty Hunter rules and Survival rules so that an error message will be displayed and the player will be returned to the main menu.


[h3]Crashes[/h3]
We have also received several reports of crashes occurring at startup and during play. We are asking for information to help us determine the cause of the force close/crash and find the correct solution for the various cases.

Please provide us with the [dump file] created after the game crashes and the "system information" of the PC on which the game was launched using this form.

The Survival Quiz CITY release is finally upon us! Since we announced the game at GAME LIVE JAPAN precisely one year ago, we've had many people try out the game through Steam Playtest. We've improved the game considerably thanks to all of the constructive feedback we’ve received. It's been three years since we started development, and it's thanks to the community that we've been able to launch the game successfully. Thank you very much.

We’ve got some new and exciting news for you in conjunction with the release!

[h3]Free Trial "Survival Quiz CITY Visitor's Pass[/h3]
For the launch of Survival Quiz CITY, we have prepared a Free Trial version that allows you access to Custom Matches.

You won’t be able to use the Quick Match, Original Quiz, or Create Room features of Custom Matches, but you will be able to join rooms set up by players with the full version of the game. This means that when you play a Custom Match and only one person has the paid version, the other 29 can play for free!

There are many ways to use this feature, such as organizing a tournament or event, or when you want to join a room of a content creator you follow. Please give it a try! And if you have a great time, we'd be delighted if you bought the full version!


[h3]Support for GeForce NOW[/h3]
By using GeForce NOW, you will be able to play Survival Quiz CITY on smartphones, tablets, low spec PCs, and Macs. We've had the opportunity to test it a lot during the development process, and it's comfortable to play, so we hope many people will use it.



[h3]Soundtrack[/h3]

There have been multiple requests for the soundtrack (it's jamming, btw!), so we are releasing Survival Quiz CITY: The Legendary Soundtrack to Lammy's Adventures simultaneously with the game! There are 67 tracks in total - plenty of tunes to accompany you during your quiz-filled days and nights. We hope you enjoy it along with the game!


[h3]Ranking[/h3]
We have also implemented a ranking function. You will be able to check your player ranking for the following items on the web.

• Number of followers
  
• Number of times you've taken first place
  
• Intellect
  

Please select Ranking in the lower-right corner of the menu screen to open the ranking page in your browser. Good luck topping the ranking leaderboards!



We have fixed several bugs in the release version, including those reported in the recent Playtest. In particular, there was a rare case of freezing on the loading screen, which caused a lot of inconvenience to players. If you find any bugs in the game, please report them on the Steam thread.

But, what exactly is a Survival Quiz? How is it different from a normal quiz?
It's quite simple! If you fail a Survival Quiz, prepare to run an insane obstacle course while you duck, dodge and dash through your opponent's attacks! Get to the safety of the goal to survive!
