Demo is available now!

Heya,

we've just released a demo for City of Beats that you can (and should!) play during Steam Next Fest! It's based on a current alpha build and contains the first chapter of the game.



If you were part of the playtest last week, this changelog is for you:

  • in the demo, you have a permanent buff that gives you some damage resistance and accelerates your metagame progress
  • tweaked dropped orb behaviour - they are now more likely to land on the rooftop & be pulled to your character
  • mini-boss is removed from the map after you've destroyed it
  • bouncy ball no longer targets hazards or fully-shielded enemies
  • improved "player hit" VFX
  • weapon supercharge can now be used more often, but has a shorter active duration
  • increased player dash distance to make getting behind laser enemies easier
  • the Zeitgeber building is now larger and the enemy spawn order/quantity have been adjusted to make that fight a bit less chaotic
  • made sure laser enemies fully charge their laser after spawning, before shooting it
  • increased enemy music layer volume so that their special attacks are easily anticipated
