Update - Build 1.0.0.60

Hi folks,

I've just put out an update for the game. Here is a list of what has changed:
  • Added a guard-for-hire NPC to the Void, allowing players to hire up to 4 guards to protect their C.A.N. from C.A.N. Openers.
  • Fixed an issue where torches could be placed within the C.A.N. walls of the Void.
  • Fixed an issue where Spirits could damage the player's C.A.N. by hitting the C.A.N. walls within the Void.
  • Fixed an issue where repair kits could be used to repair the player's C.A.N. while being close to C.A.N. walls within the Void.
  • Removed a fade-to-black object that was created when relaying from the C.A.N. to the Void, which will no longer despawn enemies or create a loud stacking sound effect.
  • Players can no longer relay to the Void when C.A.N. Openers are present.
  • Rebuilt the Void's C.A.N. and repositioned the NPC vendors within.

Update - Build 1.0.0.59

Hi folks,

I've just put out an update for the game. Here is a list of what has changed:
  • Fixed a critical issue related to resolution scaling. All resolutions should now scale properly, with the exception of text legibility at lower resolutions.
  • Enabled texture interpolation, allowing lower resolutions to have better text legibility. This does not appear to negatively impact visuals at the recommended resolution of 1920x1080.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies could spawn along the sides of the Void, they now only spawn on the outer boundaries of the C.A.N.'s cavern, as intended.
  • Fixed a layering issue where blood could spawn in the darkness of the Void when shooting at enemies outside of the Void's boundaries.


This update is pretty significant, so I'm elaborating on some of these changes:

Your desktop's native resolution will automatically be detected and scaled to fit Amborettio's UI.

Resolutions below 1280x720 will have text that is completely illegible, so these resolutions cannot be supported. Unfortunately, visual quality will diminish the lower the resolution is from 1920x1080.

While I am happy to say that this update will allow many to play the game without issue, I cannot recommend playing below 1920x1080.

Below is a visual representation of 1920x1080 resolution without interpolation (top image) and with interpolation (bottom image).

Without texture interpolation enabled, resolutions below 1920x1080 would be completely illegible.

Update - Build 1.0.0.55

Hi folks,

I've just put out an update for the game. Here is a list of what has changed:
  • Void NPCs will now get hurt from mining projectiles.
  • Void NPCs will now get hurt when being caught in a Spirit's explosion.
  • Increased the volume of the teleport sound effect, which occurs when characters enter/exit the world, or relay to the Void.

Update - Build 1.0.0.54

Hi folks,

I've just put out an update for the game. Here is a list of what has changed:
  • Added an intuitive UI element that will make it easier for players to skip the tutorial dialogue sequences.
  • Added the Void, a new location accessible by relaying from the C.A.N. number when not in the tutorial or ending sequence of the game.
  • Added reactive NPC vendors to the Void, allowing players to purchase torches, repair kits, power cells, and bulk rare cola tabs.
  • Added the Soul Buyer NPC to the Void, who will buy Cursed Souls for 3-9 Cola Tabs each, providing a stable source of income in the early stages of the game.
