Free-to-Play Online Multiplayer Update!
New mode
We're thrilled to announce that an exciting update is coming soon to Gondola's Adventure. Get ready to experience the thrill of Online Multiplayer, where you can create lobbies and challenge fellow Steam users to determine the ultimate climber. The initial release of the Online Multiplayer mode will include the first two levels, The Cursed Mines and Forest of Patience, with a limited range of customizable settings. To keep the matches fast-paced and intense, we've enabled the lava mode from Local Multiplayer, ensuring each match lasts no more than 5 minutes. Gather your friends or make new ones as you compete in matches with 2-6 players.
Gondola's Adventure goes Free-To-Play
As part of this major update, we're making some changes to the game's content structure. The current Single Player and Local Multiplayer modes will be moved to DLC, and the base game will become Free-to-Play, allowing all Steam users to join the adventure. This transition to Free-to-Play will take place on July 7th. For our dedicated players who owned Gondola's Adventure prior to this change, we've got you covered. You'll receive the Single Player & Local Multiplayer DLC, granting you access to all the content you enjoyed before.

Here's the breakdown of the plan:

 • On July 6th, the game will receive the highly anticipated Online Multiplayer update.
 • On July 7th, the base game will switch from a paid model to Free-to-Play.
 • Also on July 7th, we'll release the DLC (Note: If you already purchased the base game, there's no need to buy the DLC, as it doesn't include new content).
 • On July 7th or 8th, the content split will occur, with the base game exclusively offering the Online Multiplayer mode. During this transition, players may still have (but not guaranteed) free access to the Single Player mode for up to a day.

Please note that while the details of the plan may evolve over time, the change to Free-to-Play will definitely happen.

Get ready to scale new heights and forge epic rivalries in Gondola's Adventure's Free-to-Play Online Multiplayer update. Mark your calendars for July 7th and get ready to prove your climbing prowess in epic multiplayer showdowns!

Story Mode Revision and Bug Fixes

The story mode has been revised to have shorter levels. Every level is now 300 units compared to 500 for first level and 400 for every other level. This decision was made to make the gameplay more smooth and fun to play! Legacy story mode is introduced to allow players who currently have a save file for the old Story mode to continue playing it, or for anyone who would like to try it.

Updated wall jump mechanic: Wall jump now works whenever Gondola is sliding on a wall (facing a wall while mid-air) and as such it is now possible to perform multiple wall jumps while in the air. Gondola's facing direction can only be changed with arrow keys (or left/right on controller) when on the ground, or automatically when wall jumping (switches side).

Added two new achievements.
 • Challenger Approaching: Play the local multiplayer one time with 2 or more players.
 • Back in my day...: Complete the game in legacy mode.

Bug fixes:
 • Fixed a bug that caused Gondola to lose velocity in x-axis after hitting its head on a platform.
 • Fixed a bug that caused hit sound effect to play on landing.
 • Fixed a bug that caused Gondola to lose velocity in y-axis when attempting to jump onto a nearby wall (e.g. when trying to wall jump).
 • Fixed an uncommon bug that caused Gondola to be unable to jump when barely touching a platform at the edge.

That's all for this minor update, and as always, if you encounter any potential bugs, let us know so that they can be investigated!

Until next time, good luck climbing!

Local Multiplayer - Available Now! (Remote Play Together compatibility)

Challenge your friends or frenemies to a climbing race in this new local multiplayer update of Gondola's Adventure. Play with up to 3 fellow Gondolas in 4 different default game modes, or create your own custom game mode!

With Steam's Remote Play Together, you can challenge anyone to a climbing match by sending them a link. This feature may be especially relevant for live streamers to challenge their viewers.

The local multiplayer features a lot of options to customize your experience. All of the options can be overwhelming at first, and therefore default game modes have been created to get you started quickly!

Normal Mode - With Fall Damage disabled, the first one to reach the end of the level wins!

Lava Mode (RECOMMENDED)- Rising lava is introduced to enable quick matches. The lava starts moving after one minute and will completely fill the level after another 4 minutes. Avoid the lava at all cost and be the first one to reach the top, or be the Gondola that reached the highest point!

One Life Climb - With Fall Damage enabled, either be the first one to reach the top or be the Gondola that reached the highest point!

Last Gondola Standing - With Lava and Fall Damage enabled, this mode is all about surviving the longest. Either be the first one to reach the top or survive longer than your opponents!

Custom - Use the available advanced settings to fully customize the climbing match. Faster rising lava? shorter climbing distance? longer or smaller platforms? It is all up to you!

Regardless of the mode you choose to play, you are able to choose any one of the existing levels (The Cursed Mines, Forest of Patience, ...) for the climbing match!

May the best climbing Gondola be victorious at the top!

Local Multiplayer Update

This update features the addition of a local split-screen multiplayer.
The local multiplayer includes 4 game modes that you can play against three of your friends or frenemies to determine who is the best climber! For more details, read the official announcement published on the 23rd of April.

Updating the game to local multiplayer caused shared files from single-player to be updated. If you encounter any bugs, please make a post about it in the forums or send an email to [email protected] .

The Cursed Mines Green gas hotfix

A bug causing the player to remain in the poisoned state, unable to collide with ground (after player entered gas), was fixed.

If you encounter any bugs either create a post in the community section or send me an e-mail (preferably with a video/gif illustrating the bug) so I can fix it.
