DESOLATIUM DEMO UPDATE - Patch Notes v1.02

Greeting cultists!

We start the weekend with good news: New Desolatium Demo patch is now live!

While we continue with the development of Desolatium, we have taken the time to make some improvements to the current demo: so update the game for the following
Patch Notes
• We have replaced one of the NPCs with the definitive one.
 • We have added the option to adjust the volume (music and voices), plus some new sounds.
 • Fixed some transitions
 • We have better integrated some notes in the scenes.

You can check some of the improvements in our March devlog or by playing the demo (we recommend the second option ːsteammockingː).

We want to hear your feedback, so please use the Steam comments to leave your impressions and help us improve the final game. Until then, we will keep working and praying to the Dark and Primeval Gods.

"But remember that dark world of fungoid gardens and windowless cities isn't really terrible. It is only to us that it would seem so. Probably this world seemed just as terrible to the beings when they first explored it in the primal age. You know they were here long before the fabulous epoch of Cthulhu was over, and remember all about sunken R'lyeh when it was above the waters”

Devlog March - Desolatium

Greeting cultists!

As every month, here is our devlog! A way to bring you closer to the development of Desolatium.
March has been great! We have made great progress in the development and we will show you some things to highlight from this past moth:
360 PHOTOS
Some of the scenes were missing, such as the secret Theron Marks Society room. We still hadn’t found the perfect scenario for that location, but we finally did in Toledo, a small town close to Madrid, 4 hours away from our living city.

Fun fact: we finally got to meet Isabel, the only one in our team who works remotely in another city: The one in charge of the Art in Desolatium!

Here are some of the behind the scenes pics! (You will love this scene in the game, specially when you see the transformation)
ART AND DESIGN
We keep working on the detail views of the things you will need to find: notes, objets, clues… Here’s one of them: a drawer with a note and an old book inside. What will they be needed for?

We have also colour-graded and edited more images, like this street:

And added some elements to other images. We needed more chaos so we added some books and blood in this library:
DEMO
As we told you last month, we have been working on a new update of the demo, these are some of the changes you will be able to see:

 • Idd Yahh wasn’t ready when we released the demo, but she is now! So we have replaced her in the scene:

 • Here you will be able to control the music and sound effects, one of the things we have been asked for the most!

You will have to play to discover the rest of the improvements, but we will tell you more about it in our next post here in Steam, so stay tuned!!

And that wraps it up! Make sure that you're up to date by following our socials for Desolatium related news! Check out our links here:

Dev Log – February

Greetings Cultists!

Here is our monthly update to provide you with inside information on what has been happening in the development of Desolatium.

February has been short but intense! So many new cultists here from The Big Adventure Event and Steam Next Event, so we want to thank you for your interest in Desolatium and bring you closer to its development.

After all of your feedback, we decided to update the demo with things you suggested, so this month we continued with the development of next chapters, but also we’ve been fixing all the bugs and adding some features to the demo.

So here are the main things to highlight from February:

Design:

- Designed the missing graphic material from chapter 6: pointers, hovers, and some objects. Chapter 6 is now ready!
- Finished all the graphic material of the dialogues in chapter 7: texts, face images, titles...

- Created and designed more different posters for the beginning of each chapter.

3D Characters:

- One of the things that took us the longest this month, was the character rendering: hours and hours to finally have the characters ready to implement them in the different scenes in the game. Here is our barman! From concept art to final 3D model.

- We have retouched the animation of some characters in blender.
- Created the video, the mask and then integrated it in the scene.

Puzzles:

- Edited some widgets of the puzzles with buttons.
- Created the detail view image from some puzzles.

Sound:

- Prepared and integrated sounds from chapter 6 and 7.

Demo bugs and features:

- Fixed some transitions between screens
- Added some sounds (such as steps or door sounds) and replaced others.
- Better integrated notes on the scene
- Fixed some sounds and voices: now you can adjuste the volumen!
