Godsbane Demo Out Now!



The time has finally come and the demo for Godsbane is out! It will be live up until the 7th October so come and join us for some exciting matches!

V0.13 Update

We have made some general improvements due to roll out before the Steam Next Festival next week.

Changes


  • Added a dedicated "movement phase" before the battle starts. The current moving player may now only perform move commands after placement ends.



  • Added an emote system allowing players to communicate via basic gestures.



  • In game video tutorial for first time players.
  • Updated rank menu to better show off those flashy ranks. We have also temporarily reduced the rank requirements for the Next Festival.

Rendering Updates and Steam Next Fest

[h2]Rendering Updates[/h2]

A big focus for the team over the past few weeks has been updating our render pipeline and polishing existing gameplay. Our VFX developer has fine tuned our unit shaders to get the best out of our models and we are very happy with the results.





There have also been substantial improvements to spell effects and sounds and there will be continuous improvements on this up until launch.



[h2]Steam Next[/h2]

Godsbane has officially been accepted into the October 2021 Steam Next Festival! This means that we will have a fully functioning demo publicly available between the 1-7 October. Please join us during the week and let's have some epic matches!

July Progress Update

The team has been super productive over the last month and has made some amazing progress! Here is a quick summary of what has been completed and what is currently in the works before our 2022 release:

Menu Progress


Our main menu has always been a huge focus for the team as we try to immerse the player in a "games room" environment. We are really happy with how it's turning out and cannot wait to put the final touches on it before launch.



Combat Improvements


We have made huge improvements to the look and feel of combat and planning. We have made use of commonly accepted representations in the genre that we feel will help players better understand the game flow. We want to really emphasize a unit when a player has worked towards upgrading them fully and we feel that we have made huge leaps in the right direction.



Crafting


We have rolled out our first version of the crafting system to our testers to start tearing it apart. This system allows players to use their hard earned gold from winning matches to craft new units and powers to make their army stronger!



Deity System


What we internally refer to as the "Deity System" is comeback mechanic that allows you to summon a powerful avatar unit based on your selected deity. As you take damage throughout the game, you charge up an energy bar at the base of your deity and at any point in the game you may choose to summon your avatar to the battlefield to help you get back on your feet!

Board Updates and Deck Creation Improvements

We've been hard at work balancing content with bug fixes and features. While we continuously work to add new units and spells before release, we constantly go back to refine existing features and visuals. Our latest updates contain major updates to the board layout and features a shiny new deck creator!

[h2]Deck Creation[/h2]
Our deck creator is now fully functional and now allows you to select which Deity you would like to command your army. Each Deity has unique bonuses that may synergize well with your play style so pick wisely!



[h2]Board Updates[/h2]
We have slowly been working towards the final design for our game board and we're getting quite close. Everything in game is now placed on the board as it would be in a real life board game. This is of course, not going to be our final version (there is still a lot of polish to come!) but we are very happy with the layout as a whole.
