Weltreich: Political Strategy Simulator News

Разработка & обновление

It is difficult for people to understand each other. Some things are not said out loud because they are considered obvious. It will be too late to clarify the position. And it will be an unpleasant talking point.

1. Inability to get my money from game
In 2022, exactly 3 years ago, Steam and the Android store stopped sending money to Russian developers. Even if a million people suddenly buy the game, I won't have ANY opportunity to get a single cent. In addition, the mobile market disabled advertising and recently deleted my account for refusing to publish my personal information on the developer's page. There were even thoughts of putting it in OpenSource, cause tbh players have no reason to buy the game, since the developer will not get a penny.
How many people would work for free, without the slightest hope of being rewarded for their honest labor? Would YOU? Are there people who, having a doctor or a engineer degree, are willing to work for free, being in complete apathy? - On the contrary, people believe that they should be paid decently and not sit in state enterprises for pennies..
In the same way, updating game graphics, screenshots and videos, adding new characters and buildings. All this is much harder than code.

This could be the end, because for most people to the financial, material side is reduced to the whole life.

2. Updates.
Since the day Steam refused to send money to Russian developers, 108 commits have been made to the Weltreich repository (only 4 in 2024). That is, through apathy, with the realization that it will not bring players and money, I opened the project 108 times and made specific changes. I focus not on adding content, as commercial corporations do, but on the game basics. That is, for example, I rewrite the system of animations, energy or polis ecology, translation or construction to be more flexible and manageable, the changes are drastic, but the changes in gameplay are barely noticeable, as the work of the last years is laying the rails.
The game now has ~250 sentences from ~13 characters, ~30 random newspapers.

3. Complete lack of feedback.
(There was at least some fun feedback in the golden years on the mobile market, but now it's utter nullity)

4. Censorship.
It may seem ridiculous to fellow foreigners, but there is a number of topics that are legally forbidden to bring up, from politics and religion to family (including orientation and child topics), dgugs and satanism. The strata is much more spacious (for example, it is already or will soon be forbidden to endorse the single lifestyle), and one has to plan for upcoming laws and omit a whole range of ideas.

Now on Linux

The game now runs natively on Linux.

If you encounter any problems that are not specific to other platforms, please write in comments or on the forum.
Can't promise support for the game and minor builds support in the future.
