Superweapons are coming to Tempest Rising!

[p]Orders received, Commander. By popular demand, Superweapons are coming to Tempest Rising in our next major update!

Harnessing powerful war machines to produce and unload devastating payloads onto the enemy has been an integral and very impactful element of the RTS genre since its inception. We are very excited to introduce our own unique take on them for the GDF and Tempest Dynasty factions below.
[/p][p]The ultimate evolution of the GDF’s arsenal of Drones and communications technologies, the Drone Strike Station Superweapon is a battle-management node that syncs directly with the GDF’s satellite constellations to coordinate orbital strikes.
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p]Upon completing construction, the Drone Strike Station provides a massive vision radius around itself, as long as the structure remains standing, enabling the GDF to further push their information advantage on the battlefield.[/p][p][/p][h3]Weapon Ability: Drone Strike[/h3][p]When fully charged and activated, the GDF Superweapon sends a signal to an orbital satellite to call in a powerful Drone Strike at the designated grid coordinates.



Nine tungsten Drone Turrets launch downward and strike the ground at terminal velocity, dealing massive amounts of damage to the points of impact and the surrounding area.

Enemy units that survive the initial bombardment will then face the firepower of nine autonomous combat turrets until they are destroyed or lose power after one minute. These turrets also serve as temporary Drone Carriers, each deploying three respawning combat drones for as long as they remain online.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]Counter to their opposition, the Tempest Dynasty engineered a weapon that is a show of pure force and a monument to their industrial fury and domination of the Tempest.

The Excavator Platform is not a command center; it is a siege engine. It burrows into the earth with its massive drill pods to deliver units and unleash devastating earthquakes. [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p]
[/p][p][/p][h3]Weapon Ability: Strike Team Drill Pod[/h3][p]Once construction is completed, the Dynasty can begin garrisoning their assault teams of up to 18 units into massive, armor-plated drill pods. These pods can be launched into the earth, burrow beneath enemy forces and fortifications, breach the surface, and unload their payload of units for a surprise attack.

[/p][p]The Excavator platform also features a Perk called ‘Medical Kits’, which recovers health for damaged Infantry units garrisoned within the Drill Pod.[/p][p][/p][h3]Weapon Ability: Combat Excavator[/h3][p]The Excavator Platform also houses a much more devastating machine than a unit transport drill pod. When the platform is fully charged, and a Dynasty general gives the order, it sends an earth-shattering Combat Excavator to a designated location, unleashing powerful concussive waves through the ground that liquefy armor and turn enemy units and structures to dust.

[/p][p]The Combat Excavator can also transport garrisoned units inside its drill pod. After unleashing three violent earthquakes, it breaches the surface and unloads all garrisoned units at the epicenter of the attack zone.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][h2]Game Changer[/h2][p]We’ve put a lot of work into bringing these Superweapons to the game, and we feel they add a whole new dynamic way to play each faction. We are very excited to see the creative ways you use them in multiplayer!
