Patch Note
Gameplay
- Timeline The Timeline system has been completely reworked. Time Step and time costs for Champions' actions are no longer part of the game. Now, each Champion will activate once per Round. After completing their turn, an interface will appear, allowing you to select when they will act in the following Round.
- Death With the changes to the Timeline, the Death mechanic has been adjusted. A downed Champion will remain on the ground. If it's their turn while downed, they won’t take any actions but will instead select their next activation in the following Round. After the Scoring phase, all downed Champions will rise to their knees. When a kneeling Champion's turn arrives, they will stand up with only 1 action point. Note that downed or kneeling Champions do not contribute to scoring or capturing Sponsors.
- Sponsors The Sponsor system has undergone a complete overhaul. Champions now control a Sponsor Tile simply by walking over it—there’s no longer a need to end their turn on the tile. Sponsor Rewards have been removed. Instead, each controlled Sponsor boosts all your Rolls once. For example, controlling 3 Sponsor Tiles significantly increases your chances of success for actions, defenses, or disengagements. Additionally, each Sponsor now provides 4 Tactics, available from the start of the match.
- Pick and Ban A small tweak has been made to the pick and ban phase: players will now either pick first or play first.
- Deployment Phase To add excitement to the start of the match, a Deployment Phase has been introduced. Before Round 1 begins, you can deploy your Champions anywhere within your zone. You’ll only see your opponent's choices once both players have locked in their positions. HexaDrops are also available on the map from Round 1, offering more strategic options.
- MVP The leading player will now have an MVP selected after each Scoring phase. Defeating this MVP will grant their opponent a Signature Move Charge.
- HexaDrop Spawn on Death To increase strategic opportunities, when a Champion is fragged, they will now spawn a HexaDrop on a random nearby tile.
Game Modes
- Bootcamp Bootcamp has been streamlined and is now significantly shorter.
- Challenges The Challenges section now features a series of puzzles designed to engage you in specific, bite-sized scenarios. These will help you master Champion abilities and game mechanics.
- Champion Discovery Each Champion’s page now includes a Discovery playlist, featuring 3 Challenges that highlight their unique abilities and strategies. This is a great way to become familiar with the diverse cast of Champions.
- Duel Duel mode now allows you to play a multiplayer match with a friend. You can invite them via code or Steam invite.
Visual
- PBR Rendering & New Lighting The lighting for the arena and its surroundings has been completely revamped, offering more realistic rendering with physically-based rendering (PBR).
- Scoring Zones Scoring Zones now feature new models and visual effects. Inactive zones are now visually closed, making it easier to distinguish their state.
- Blood Effects Blood effects have been added when Champions take damage. You can toggle this feature on or off in the settings menu.
- Parvati & Wild Bill New models for Parvati and Wild Bill are now live, along with their updated visual and sound effects.
- Obstacles / Crabbot obstacles have been replaced with a neutral model to avoid confusion, as some players mistakenly believed they were enemies.
- User Interface Both the menu and in-game interface have been completely redesigned.
