Surprise! We have released a new version of the MY FAMILIAR public demo!










And of course, here are some teasers of what you can expect in the very near future!

[h3]Changes:[/h3]
- Crows can no longer crash the game if a seagull randomly flies into them offscreen
- Improved HUD targeting UI
- Fixed bug where NPCs will sometimes moonwalk
- Certain equipment now updates Max HP/SP as expected
- Fixed a softlock if you lose a battle (why did you lose? Get more DOPE hits!)
- Fixed a game crash in the Pause Menu
- HEADACHE ability now prevents Abilities as expected
- Fixed layering issues when a hero is DEAD
- DEAD Hero is now removed from action queue
- Fixed an issue where abilities that applied multiple buffs were not being applied
- Improved SP Damage visuals
- Fixed bug where SkipHurt command was being ignored
- Magic Damage now inherits elemental properties
- Fixed bugs involving Multihit Projectiles
- Fixed bug where a retargeted multi-hit would ignore shield
- Fixed bug where heroes have incorrect placards when DEAD
- Improved visual messaging for Bonus Round Timeline
- Fixed bug with the Pause Menu Smearing/Masking
- Fixed enemy chase icon depth sorting

Surprise! We have released a new version of the MY FAMILIAR public demo! This updated demo takes you to the fringes of NEW YOLK CITY as well as the NEW YOLK SEWERS - after all, how do you call yourself an RPG without a sewer area? The estimated play time for this new demo is between 2-3-hours.

Demo updated to 0.2.0!

Hello, all!

We have updated the My Familiar demo to version 0.2.0-DEMO. This update includes many bug fixes, polish and a major new feature: Timed Hits! You can see a full changelog of the changes below:

  • Added Timed hits. Certain attacks will now deal more damage if you time your inputs correctly
  • Added ally follower. Once you gain additional team members they will now follow you in the overworld
  • Added environmental sparkles that give items when interacted with
  • Added more treasure
  • Any item not purchased from the Ibexa Shop is now distributed randomly in the world.
  • Fixed rare crash when entering the diner
  • Fixed bugs relating to player facing/animating the wrong direction in cutscenes
  • Fixed bug where player could enter Twinklerow early
  • Fixed some ui elements not appearing on certain screen resolutions
  • Added version number to title screen
  • Many more bug fixes

My Familiar Demo Launch + Update!

The My Familiar Demo has launched! We did a silent launch on February 13, 2023 here on Steam and now we are making it official with our first Demo Update!

Demo Update Changelog:
  • macOS Support added (Catalina and up!)
  • Native Linux/SteamOS Support added! (Ubuntu/SteamOS)
  • Improved Audio Balancing
  • Fixed bug where audio could stop after the Chugdealer encounter
  • Fixed bug where Kato wouldn't revive player in the first boss fight (soft-lock)
  • Initiative changes now preview correctly when equipping accessories
  • Resistance changes now preview correctly when equipping accessories
  • Fixed Item Drop SFX playing multiple times
  • Fixed Garage Door opening behind player
  • Fixed audio looping issues with variant looping tracks
  • Fixed bug where music would resume after being stopped by a cutscene
