Hi, everyone. Welcome to the first developer's diary of April!
It has been a highly productive week with all kinds of chaos going on. It's more or less because we had a lot of festivals all week, April Fools, Jewish Passover, and the first full moon, to name a few. Meanwhile, the upcoming Sunday will also be a rare occasion when Easter and the Chinese Qingming Festival will be observed on the same day. If you miss it, you will need to wait for another 11 years to see that happen again. Certainly, some people will attempt some strange rituals on that day.
But enough of the occultism; let's go over this week's game content first.
The main story continues, and the final map of Chapter 3 is now accessible. As usual, the spoilers will be kept to a minimum.
You can see the "North Peak Entity" from afar. One of the darkest secrets of the Nise Federation will soon be revealed. But, since many people from the worlds before this current iteration may already know what it is. There shall be some additional surprises as well.
You may also find a bedroom on this floor, with items foreshadowing a character's development.
Again, because localization sometimes cannot fully translate meaning from one language to another, both the English and Chinese versions are posted here. A bonus to people who can understand both languages. There are also some loot and useful items in this room. Especially the terminal. You can play some mini-games. You can use the 3D Printer. You can exchange GPA coins for something useful.
And...
A deleted Foundation file is on this terminal. Think about what you just saw and think a bit more.
Your mind may fill the gaps between lines and understand the cloak-and-dagger behind the scenes.
Thus, you may figure out why the Foundation has not yet appeared in this world-ending event.
Fun fact: Heart Attack is such a convenient way to say "assassination" nowadays.
Now, as we are talking about the Foundation. A new wiki page about all those anomalies has also been released.
Meanwhile, there shall be some special mention about this floor's background music. It's a new song. But I am trying something different this time. Because of the background story of this place. The song is not sung in any human language but in Enochian or maybe fake Enochian. If it's fake, then it may be even more fitting for this place. But the idea in general is that it's a song in a fictional language. There are many benefits to doing so. It's more spiritual, unbound by the limitations of earthly languages. It feels like something you should understand, yet you cannot. It does not require any translation since translation does not work. Anyway, I think this is one of the best background music so far. Even if you have not reached this floor on the North Peak, you can enjoy it from your Boombox.
Other than the main story, let's continue this grimdark mood of Qingming elsewhere.
A Taoist appeared in the Dark Alley, selling Human Blood Mantou. As I mentioned last week, Human Blood Mantou shall play a more important role in China's underworld for cultural and spiritual reasons.
You can also hear him talk about some rumors. They are all based on either real-life urban legends, such as Tongji University's pork, or in-game lore, such as the Beggars' Gang being pushed into the sewer by city officials.
Alright, that's the dark part of the content. Now, since April Fools ' Day also appeared this week. Let's check out some jokes.

You know, we have 3D printers and drones. Let's put them together.
Here we go! Now you can make drones from 3D printers! Maybe you can also be the CEO of Rheinmetall one day! :D
There are various sources you can get this blueprint. You can purchase it from the Weapon Merchant in the Grand Bazaar. You can use GPA coins to exchange for it. But, most importantly, since this item has its Ukrainian origin, you will be rewarded for it if you win the Ghost of Kyiv mini-game on the highest difficulty!
The Ghost of Kyiv mini-game also received some improvements.
You can now pause it or even just abandon the mission.
The mini-game is designed to be played out in one go. But sometimes, maybe you simply want to do something else. It's OK. It also serves as an ejection button in case you are about to get shot down. Sometimes, death is the easy solution in a war. You don't need to worry about anything else afterward. But that's not the right solution. Your life is not your own. You have the duty to live for all those people who died alongside you. You are carrying their memories. You must live to fight for another day. Sometimes, it's the harder choice that needs bravery to make.
Maybe, a part of me never left that graveyard.
