Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
As mentioned in the last developer's diary, we are heading to Jiru Island this week. The first stop on Jiru Island is a town known as Fjordr, a seemingly peaceful snowy town in the north in lockdown.
Soon after you arrive, you will find some clues about what is going on here. For example, you will learn why the Red Dragons are here.
However, this conversion will soon be interrupted by an alarm. But, let's not spoil that here.
Of course, without going too deep into the storyline, a world must be constructed first. As such, another major part of this week is about the infrastructure of this town. The town has a tavern where you can find some merchants who can sell you weapons, ammo, and warm clothes that can counter the local cold environment. You can also sit down to play some Tomb Stone card games here while enjoying some warm food and drinks. There is also another merchant right outside, as people are escaping from this town, he is purchasing everything people cannot bring with them. Thus, you can also dump all your junk or unwanted items on him.
Meanwhile, in East Asia, there is a huge Typhoon running wild at this moment. Even though it still has some distance from me. I can already feel some strong wind punching on my windows in Shanghai. My friends in Taiwan and Japan also sent me some images and videos to let me know how much "fun" they are having right now. So, how about we add more weather effects to the game?
So, during this week's update, we now have an enhanced weather effect system.
Different weathers can now affect everyone's special attributions differently. They can also have their own weather strength in line with what you can see on the screen. Here are some examples:
Rain effects: Fire Elemental Effect - (2 x Weather Power)% Water Elemental Effect + (1.2 x Weather Power)%
Snow effects: Fire Elemental Effect - (2 x Weather Power)% Ice Elemental Effect + (1.2 x Weather Power)%
However, even though some people enjoy those "exciting" weathers, others may not be so fond of them. (including some fire mages, of course) So, we shall also have some supernatural items to stop them.
So, here comes Teru Teru Bozus. Those small dolls are used to pray for good and sunny weather. However, modern urban legends add more dark stories to them beneath their normal facet. For example, one may see a Teru Teru Bozus hanging near someone's window at night. Only to find that's a dead corpse hanging on the roof the next morning. Maybe, we may cover some of those stories later. But, for now, you can use them to stop bad weather.
The next main update of this week is about milk. Finally, we have milk in our game. You can purchase it from many food merchants or food ingredient merchants. In addition to that, some pets now produce milk passively when they travel with you.
Just like other passive resources generated by your pets, here comes the fun part. As the milk generated by your pets is named after your pets and you can name your pets anything you want, so...
Oh, well, I know Homelander drinks milk instead of producing milk. But, you get the idea. You can have whoever's milk you like you just need to make those names for your pets creatively. :D
One more thing, with Steam's latest demo updates. the game's demo version is now officially renamed to the "Free Version" with its own store page.

3 years ago, the previous plan was to stop the demo support after I finished Chapter 1 of the game.
However, the war broke out. The demo version of the game received a new mission to bring awareness of Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Thus, it has been updated every day alongside the main game since then. Everyone can receive the latest news from Ukraine while also enjoying the game through Steam's auto-update system for free. I think this is a very meaningful cause. I can give out this game for free because, as you know, I don't care about the game's sales and I believe there are things far more important than money. If there is even one more life we can save. If this can make the war end with justice one day earlier. I think this is meaningful. Thus, the "Free Version" will continue to carry out this mission TO THE END of this war. To victory and Slava Ukraini!
