DD#178 Anomaly UPEX5173-D and More
Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
As the story progresses to Jiru, this week's first focus is on the last town right before you go to Jiru Island. That is Qinuyi, the traffic center of the Nise Federation.
More content has been added to various buildings in this area, including a new anomaly designated as UPEX5173-D by the Foundation.
UPEX5173-D is the queue in Qinuyi's Administration Office.
Well, this is not a life-threatening anomaly. But enough to drive some people mad. You can find a queuing simulation in this area for some additional fun.
After all, Queueing is an extremely popular sport devised by the Upper-Middle-Lower-Middle-Upper-Lower Class people all over the world. It's almost like everyone will always participate in it at least once in their life. :)
There are now also various interactable objects in this office. Such as a vendor machine and a computer where you can browse the procedurally generated quests posted by local townfolks.
Sure, nowadays people are getting too lazy to even go out for dinner or even cook food by themselves. Many mages in the Mages Guild are also just common folks with magic. So, they may sometimes also don't want to get out of their caves. That's your chance to deliver them some food they request. (They will post what kind of food they would like to eat, such as fish dishes, meat dishes, egg dishes, or something else. They may also post a minimal HP recovery rate for such food.) You will be rewarded with money and a random scroll.
As we are talking about scrolls, we now also get 4 new types of scrolls that enhance a certain type of elemental power of their users. You can obtain them from this new type of procedurally generated quest or you can also purchase them from various vendors.
That's not the only type of procedurally generated quests you can get from here. You may also find other odd jobs such as some people looking for research materials.
Meanwhile, there are also some other updates in the Qinuyi area. Enchantopia Elegance Emporium now has a secret room that you can enter by picking the lock. The Underwater Tunnel is now fully completed as it extends to Jiru and Jaruka with full butterfly support and fishing data.
Another major part of this week's content updates is more content for those organizations in Samujier.
As the game's 20th anniversary comes closer, I think it's a good time to let Tanya talk about what NEOLITHIA is truly about instead of just some fancy words driven by every single character.
Some of you may now realize where those dialogs originated from. And then, without much effort uncover the unspoken Great Schism between NEOLITHIA and NEOLITHIC in a secret history. But, let's not talk about it outside this game as it's also part of this game's 20 years of living history shrouded by secrecy.
Meanwhile, the Eternal Staff received their flag. They will hang it in various rooms of their base.
The game also uses this flag to represent them in your relationship menu.
So, you can see how easy to make them be your friend if you go through all the current storylines of the Dark Elf King.
What's more?
A seemingly quite common item has been added to the game. That's the battery. As a power source for many modern electronic devices, it's going to have a lot of usage in future updates. But, for now, at least it can restore MP on any machine creature.
Why do we suddenly give machines such benefits?
Because, once again, if someone is familiar with NEOLITHIA lore, it's not hard for them to find what's out there even if Tanya does not tell you. As Father Adamson hinted, it's all about another of our old friends.
And, this may be the only way to save humanity based on her calculation.
Alright, that's for this week. We will reach our 20th anniversary next week. Some information about the "surprise" may have been leaked in some channels. But, let's not talk about that until the time comes. After all, we are the elite few who are behind the veil to have all the fun that no other games can bring.
