Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
This week, how about we go for some fishing with an entire group?
Yes, all your group members can now go fishing instead of just your main character. If one of your group members has equipped something that can be considered a fishing rod, you can now go fishing. A new UI will pop up to let you select which group member you want to send to fishing.

This UI will display everyone's fishing skill levels, MP cost, and a warning if this character has not equipped a fishing rod.
Meanwhile, as I mentioned above, there are more types of fishing rods in the game now.

A straightforward variation is an improved version of the fishing rod. They usually come with some bonus to your fishing skill levels.
But how about something strange?

Here is a new rifle barrel module that allows you to convert assault rifles into fishing rods.
Well, there is no magic or supernatural rocket science here. This idea comes from real life. There are indeed hunting-rifle fishing rods out there. Now, we have that in the game too.
So, where do we get those new items?
I decided to update all our fishing equipment vendors. First, they now share a common shop inventory list, including those new items mentioned above, which makes them easy to maintain throughout our vast game world. After that, we got more fishing equipment vendors in more towns so that the items they sell are more accessible.
That's the fishing part. We also got some other interesting updates elsewhere too.
At an abandoned Foundation facility, some researchers have transformed into vampiric creatures, while others are now corrupted by the Shade.

They serve many different purposes during this week's updates.
One of them is to test some new AI functionalities. As they are researchers, they shall behave differently than those more brutal versions of shade creatures. They retain their knowledge to study and analyze their target's weaknesses. They are also empowered by shade to cast shade touches to cause more nasty state effects on their victims. However, it will not be very smart to spam analyze over and over again or keep casting debuff spells on the same targets. Thus, new AI functionalities have been introduced to both the decision-making and target-selecting processes of enemy AIs. Those shade-tainted researchers can coordinate their attack with other shade creatures and serve as support debuffers. They may also appear in any shade-themed procedurally generated locations you can travel to via the Wonderland Travel Agency as a new kind of threat.
Another purpose is they will be some of the earliest enemies you may encounter in a future DLC. I will reveal more details about this later.
The storyline of the Dark Elf King received some minor progress, as you may find more details from the Black Frog King about what the next thing to do will be. The expansion of Hottle and a new location in this town can be considered a preparation for this next stage.
