Hi, everyone! Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
Well, a lot of things happened this week. I also got quite busy. Thus, there is not much serious game content for this week. See you next week. XD
Oh, wait a second, we instead got quite a few real-life game content. XD
To start with, Prigozhin, the infamous leader of Wagner PMC, died in a plane crash.

So, basically, we get a new random curse stone event that may happen in Russia's outdoor areas. Who knows maybe your enemy is so unlucky enough that Prigozhin's plane just crashes on them. That's totally random as is the nature of calamity. Or, maybe it is not all left by chance. More details about this new event can be found on the game's wiki. Let's officially pretend it's just an accident. :)
Next, we also know Putin decided to invade the moon. But, apparently, the moon does not welcome his spacecraft for some reason. The Russian spacecraft crashed while the Indian spacecraft successfully landed. Congratulations to our Indian friends! And, maybe we shall praise the moon.
Thus, we get a new tenet. It's always unlocked. You can add it to your customized faith/ideology. Something unique to it is it takes your local system time for consideration. Thus, if you have this tenet on your faith and you are playing this game at night, you can get more devotion from praying.
Also on the image of this tenet, you may find some shiba dogs at the bottom of it. One of the most famous Shiba passed away this week. It's sad. But let's hope he went to a happier place for he has left this world with so much happiness.
What also happened this week is the nuclear water from Japan is now slowly dumping into the Pacific. "This is the end of the world!" Many cry. Especially in China, because of massive political propaganda about how bad things are. But, let's be realistic, it's bad. But, it's not that bad. So, I don't think I will change my appetite for delicious sushi. Instead, we got a new side quest in Marinas to get rid of a doomsayer. It's a non-linear side quest. Thus, you can have all the different ways to start it and solve it. If you can pass a skill check, you can also get more rewards at the end.
Now as we are talking about skill checks. Baldur's Gate 3 remains a hot topic this week. Time to "borrow" a bit more content from it. That is the skill check.
Previously, we already had skill checks everywhere in the game. But, we didn't have a good UI to represent the difficulty range of each challenge. Now we have it, a dice roll sound will also play when rolling the final difficulty number. This is not exactly a D&D system. It's more like the one in CoC. Anyway, good luck with your dice roll. I have gone through all existing game content to replace the old skill check with this new one. In addition to that, we also have more different types of skill checks in existing and new content. For example, you can seduce the nurse who guards the secret room in the Marinas Hospital. You can persuade, deceive, or just fight the doomsayer in our latest side quest. As a big open-world RPG with a lot of freedom, there will likely be more and more places to continually use this system with all kinds of skill checks.
In addition to everything mentioned above, we also have a new location in Marinas, new crafting materials, new background music, and other little content.
That's for this week. Many times in the past 19 years, real life has provided me with great ideas and stories that I sometimes don't even need to write them myself. All I need to do is just add them to the game. This week is another one of such interesting times. :)
The final sale before the game price increases shall start next week. Marinas area will expand further to provide stages for our next stories.
