Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
There are quite a few story content updates this week. However, those are also quite hard to write in the diary as they may be spoiled. So, I will try something different in this diary.
1, Fjordr Hospital Underground
Congratulations! You’ve almost reached the end of this part. Get ready to claim your final rewards and uncover some long-awaited answers which involve...
Deep within the vault, you’ll discover prototype anti-machine weapon components. Kudos to the genius who decided to lock them away instead of handing them over to security guards during this crisis. They are now all yours. :D
2, Aten Cultists in Fjordr
As you step onto Jiru island, the main story picks up pace. Instead of aimlessly exploring and tediously investigating everywhere, you encounter a fervent cultist actively recruiting new members for their Day Break agenda. How does he do that?
Oh, well...
With the town under siege by machines, the cultist’s pitch is compelling. After all, Aten is a sun god. His words resonate deeply with the fearful townsfolk, making it hard to resist the allure of joining their cause.
3, A Surprising Development in Siberia
It’s been a while since our last update in this part of the game world. Previously, you ventured into a village teeming with meat cubes and orc soldiers. Now, the church doors have swung open, revealing a shocking plot twist involving a historical figure, coming with a lot of blood and dark magic.
As you step inside, the atmosphere thickens with an eerie tension. The church, once a place of solace, now harbors secrets and corruption. Prepare yourself for a revelation that ties history with the supernatural, bringing forth a character who was meant to be a major antagonist. However, due to recent real-world events, he is taking on a new role in my script. After all, everybody hates Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine even this guy.
Some Behind-Scene Facts:
1, If Putin hadn’t launched his bloody invasion over two years ago, this character would have been the main antagonist in this part of the game. But given the current circumstances, he’s been repurposed for a different role.
2, The phrase “Fuck your cyka, drink your vodka” comes from a song by the Russian band “Russian Village Boys.” They fled Russia after the war began and publicly supported Ukraine, an act of courage that I respect.
Other than story developments, we also got:
1, Photosynthesis
Your plant pets are about to get a fantastic upgrade! Introducing a new skill that allows most of your plant companions to absorb incoming light-element damage and convert it into health. This unique ability not only makes your plant pets stand out but also proves invaluable when facing Aten Cultists who wield sunlight as their weapon. Imagine your plant pets thriving under the very attacks meant to harm them, turning the tide of battle in your favor
Side Note: Mushrooms, unfortunately, don’t possess this photosynthesis feature due to scientific reasons. But who knows? With a touch of supernatural intervention, they might just surprise us in the future.
2, Make Your Own Alcoholic Drinks!
Introducing the Brewing Machines, a fantastic new addition to the game! With these machines, you can make your own beer and vodka wherever you go. Simply add materials like water, wheat, and yeast, turn it on, and watch the magic happen. Cheers! But that’s not all! These Brewing Machines also double as item containers with unlimited space. Dump anything you want into them, and they’ll keep your items safe. (for totally no reason.)
Fun fact: This feature was inspired by my recent tasting of Swedish Absolut Vodka. (for obvious reasons, I am not buying any Russian vodka no matter how cheap they become.) Anyway, it sparked me with a newfound interest in learning how to brew it. :)
