Helicopter, Animations and Gamepad

Hello Community,

I want to inform you about the current work being done. I hope you are looking forward to the upcoming update.

In the upcoming update, you will have the opportunity to fly a small helicopter. The work on it is progressing very well so far.





Furthermore, animations have been revised, such as the jumping animation and the animations for the character's posture when holding an item.





Due to frequent requests for controller support, I am working to gradually implement these features into the game to allow full control with the controller.

Currently, intensive work is being done on inventory control, which is the main issue for full controller support. I ask for your patience, but rest assured, I am committed to continuously improving and implementing these features.

Improvements and New Features

[h3]Hello KeepUp Survival Community,[/h3]

We are pleased to announce that another update has been carried out, bringing additional improvements and minor changes.

A particularly important innovation affects all current and future players, regardless of their hardware: thanks to AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.

To ensure that these features can be used smoothly, it is important to reset the graphics settings once. Any changes to the graphics settings should be followed by a restart to ensure that the settings are properly applied.

[h3]Performance Boosts Thanks to FidelityFX Super Resolution[/h3]

To optimize performance, you can now use AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, or "FSR" for short, in the graphics settings. This option is available to both AMD and Nvidia graphics card users.

By enabling FSR on Native AA, the frame rate has already been doubled.

Optimal settings for maximum performance:

For the best performance on Ultra settings, we recommend enabling FSR along with native AA and a sharpness setting of 0.5. Optionally, you can also set shadows to medium for further improvements.



A screenshot with these settings shows about 55 FPS with TSR on Ultra.

Additional Feature: Anti-Aliasing

A new anti-aliasing option has been added to improve image quality and make edges appear even smoother. (FXAA, TAA, MSAA, and TSR)



[h3]Graphics Improvements Related to FSR[/h3]

Due to the earlier switch from UE4 to UE5, there were some issues that needed to be fixed. The graphic representation also did not reach its desired potential. Thanks to fixing a bug, the graphics now look sharper and clearer.



General Performance Improvements

Many aspects have been revised to improve performance. If you still want to get a bit more performance, set the shadows to medium. The differences in representation are minimal, but it helps improve frame rates.

Object Highlights

From now on, certain objects will be highlighted to help you see them better and more clearly.



Oxygen

Your character can no longer dive indefinitely. On the left side of the screen, you will find an oxygen display. When it runs out, your character takes significant damage.



Sprinting

There were two small bugs with sprinting that have been fixed. On one hand, the display continued even after stopping sprinting. On the other hand, it was possible to sprint indefinitely by pressing W and A/D simultaneously. Both issues have now been resolved.

Paraglider

A small error in the paraglider that affected lateral movements has been fixed. You can now glide through the air smoothly again.



Vehicles & Horses

It was previously possible to drive vehicles underwater easily. This is no longer possible. When you reach a certain water depth with a vehicle, your character will automatically get out. The vehicle despawns after about 3 minutes and reappears at the last save point, including any loot. These 3 minutes give you the opportunity to retrieve your loot from the vehicle if desired. The same applies to horses.



Horses

The camera control has been slightly improved, making transitions smoother. The camera has been fixed, leading to better control behavior.

Animation errors and jumping issues have been fixed.

Further improvements are planned to make the horse more dynamic.



Vehicles

When getting into the vehicle, there was an issue where the character was not completely removed. You could see the shadow and weapons hanging in the air and hear the character's footsteps. This problem has now been resolved, so such errors should no longer occur.

Character

The camera control has been improved, making movements smoother and more pleasant. This leads to an overall better gaming experience.

[h3]Controller Support[/h3]

Due to numerous requests, we have improved and adjusted the controls for vehicles, horses, and now also the paraglider. You should now be able to play these with your controller. If the control is still not quite optimal, please let us know.

Numerous other small bug fixes have been carried out.

Ongoing Work and Improvements - Announcement of the Next Update

Hello community,

I would like to update you on the current work being carried out. I hope you are looking forward to the upcoming update.

This update includes various fixes and improvements, as announced in the last news.

In particular, adjustments have been made to the character and horse to ensure smoother movements.

The issues with the horse, such as jumping and animation errors, which were reported to me, have been fixed.

Additionally, underwater riding or walking with the horse has been corrected and will no longer be possible in the upcoming update. When you enter the water, you will automatically dismount, and the vehicle will disappear after 3 minutes, reappearing at the last saved location with your inventory intact.

The horse will exhibit similar behavior, although we are considering introducing swimming for the horse.

The control of the paraglider has also been fixed and will be included in the upcoming update. You will once again be able to fly smoothly above the clouds.

Another idea that was communicated to me, but often seen as a bug, was the ability to breathe underwater. I had never implemented a function for this, but it will be available in the upcoming update. You will no longer be able to dive indefinitely and will need to surface for air.

The character sprinting has also been improved. Previously, it was possible to sprint indefinitely by pressing two keys in a specific way. This is no longer possible.

The graphics of the game look quite good on Ultra settings, but I was never fully satisfied. I discovered a bug that occurred during the transition from UE4 to UE5, which could not be corrected easily. Various adjustments were made to solve this issue, and now the graphics look much clearer and more pleasant.

As already mentioned, I am aware that the current performance is not optimal, particularly due to the spawning of animals. I am continuing to work on fixing and mitigating this problem.

Additionally, as mentioned in previous news, FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) will be added to help improve performance on older computers.

Enhancing Performance and Introducing New Features in KeepUp Survival!

Hello community,

I'm currently working hard on improving the performance of KeepUp Survival. Due to significant drops in frame rates, it's crucial to restore performance to a balanced and acceptable level.

It's also important to me that older computers have the opportunity to play this game. Since transitioning from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, frame rates haven't been at acceptable levels, causing even mid-range PCs to struggle.

I will be introducing a new feature: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3), which will provide a performance boost for both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.

Progress is currently a bit slow as I'm also redesigning the website and completing other tasks simultaneously.

Additionally, the Mountain Map is nearing completion and will soon be released.
