(Dev Note) What’s in the pipeline

Greetings from Orbis!

It’s almost the weekend!

For all of you survivors out there, this week’s dev note is introducing some things that are in the pipeline.

As with all things development, some plans change and other plans get canceled.

So keep in mind that everything is a work-in-progress and will likely change in some way or another before it gets out the door.

Up till now, I’ve mostly shared finished products in these dev notes, but I’m hoping to reveal more of our process moving forward.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into what goes into developing Dysterra!
📒 Decor!
We’re working on decor to help you survivors turn your house into a home. We’re still figuring out how things’ll fit together, but feel free to spitball any ideas you have on our Discord feedback channel. We plan to regularly develop decor for inside and outside of your base.
📒 New Orbis baddie on the horizon
Also, a new Orbis mob is being developed for what will likely be the Orbis version of the Hyena Den.
The robot below is going to be the boss.
📒 Titanium Armor?
We’re also looking into putting out some titanium armor.

This is a rough draft of what it COULD look like.

On the left is a basic Tier 4 titanium concept that our art team developed into two different Tier 5 drafts on the right.
📒 Refining the cyclops’ walking animation
We also did some work on the cyclops’ walk to make it feel more natural.

It’s nothing big, but I think it sheds light onto what our team does.

This was my first foray into sharing our process.

It’s a bit short and a bit rough, but that’s a lot of what development is.

So much is happening behind the scenes with conceiving ideas, creating concept images, modeling, testing, and sometimes scrapping ideas.

By sharing our process, I hope you can catch a glimpse into the complexity of
game development and our creative process.

Enjoy your weekend!
