What's in Season 5? (Preview)

Season 5 is getting closer! We’re working hard to make sure everything is polished and ready for you all by the beginning of November. We’re adding all sorts of new raiding mechanics including mobs raiding online PvE players’ bases and some big changes to how PvP players go about raiding each others’ bases.
And from 11/1 until the Season 5 update,
there will be a 2x resources event on the PvE servers!

Get Off Our Island!!

(PvE servers only… for now) The Hyena forces are tired of survivors stealing their resources! They’ve decided to strike back by sending out dropships to land near player bases and attack. You’ll get a notification that they’re on their way, giving you plenty of time to get back to your base. If you’re offline, they won’t initiate an attack on your base.

(However, if an attack has already started or is about to start, logging out will not stop the attack, so be cautious.)

Customize the look of your base!

Make yourself even more at home with the new colors we’ve added to base parts. You can now paint your base yellow, red, or blue! I’m sure you all will find some unique ways to express yourself with these new options. Our team is looking forward to seeing how you use the new palette in your bases.

Changes to PvP Raid Mechanics

Are you tired of logging in to find that your base was raided while you were away? We’ve changed the tempo of raids in Season 5 to allow for more strategy between players.
Things to know:
Raid Protection for your base will automatically activate.
You need a special item or the EMP to deactivate your target’s base protection.
How to raid in Season 5
In order to raid someone’s base, you’ll need to first deactivate their raid protection. You can do this by either using an EMP whenever you’d like, or by using a new item called a ‘siege jammer’ that will jam the raid protection system’s signals for a short time, allowing you to start your attack.

*Depending on how effective your attack was, your siege jammer will have a longer or shorter cooldown time.

You can now attack bases using any of the game’s siege hammers, or by using one of the 2 guns that uses ‘explosive ammo’: the DMR SW-1, or the AR TFT-K7. In order to do damage to a base, the weapon also needs to be the same tier as the base-part it’s being used on. Weaker weapons won’t be able to inflict damage on higher tier base-parts.

Faster PvP Gameplay!!

We’ve cut the length of PvP servers in half. No more will you get on a server only to realize everyone has full gear except you. With a shorter PvP server length, you can have more fun with your friends by hopping onto a fresh server with them.
New PvP Server Lengths
Minimum length: 7 days
Starting length: 10 days
Maximum length: 15 days

Dynamic Difficulty!

Facilities have been a rough challenge for our solo survivors. We recently added dynamic difficulty to the Meteochamber, and with this update we’re adding it to the Satellite Station. Solo survivors will now have an easier time while teams or groups of players tackling the facility together will have to take on significantly more mobs.
