Patch Notes: v0.4.3

The LOOT-a-LOT is over. 😢
It was so exciting to see everyone working together for a common purpose, and we had a hoot watching you try to shoot and loot our base.

A good portion of our team is taking a much-needed break after playing Dysterra with you all over the weekend, so this week’s patch is mostly just event rewards and basic bug fixes, with a notable change to turrets.

LOOT-a-LOT Event Rewards!

Thanks to everyone who joined the LOOT-a-LOT event!! We had a great time fighting against you all, and were happy to see so many players that were CLEARLY very skilled at raiding bases.

In this week’s patch, you’ll be receiving your rewards for the event. Please remember that you had to be logged in to the event server at the moment the Devs’ building core was destroyed in order to receive ā€˜1’ loot point (for a maximum of 3 points). Players with 3 points or more will receive the sum of all listed rewards. If there is a problem with your rewards, please email us your steam ID number and a description of your issue at [email protected].

As promised, the rewards are as follows:

New Armor

This isn’t your grandma’s Fine Metal Suit! The ā€˜Fine Metal Suit [Golden]’ is not a skin, it’s a better version of the Fine Metal Suit, with its own better stats.

We’re giving the recipe out to players who succeeded at least twice in last weekend’s Loot-a-lot event.
Helmet + Upper Suit + Lower Suit
Tier: Rare
Durability: 1,050 for each piece
Resistance (Combined Full-set)
Physical: 8%
Energy: 86%
Bleeding: 19%
Fracture: 25%
Radiation: 0%

Rewards change if you ride the rocket
This one is just a reminder:
As I stated when we introduced Perks, you’ll get different levels of Perk Pack depending on your ranking when your server expires. If you get on the rocket at the end, your level of Perk Pack goes up 1 tier. The Perk feature has a maximum level of Lv. 3, and the higher-tier Perk Packs vary by changing the probability of obtaining higher-level perks.

Jump on over to our still-under-construction wiki to read all about perks.

We’ve also made changes to the ā€˜scoreboard’ at the end of a server’s lifespan to show you which reward you’re getting.

Holograms Are Easier To Destroy

We wanted holograms to be more useful. The hologram base’s hit box was too small, so we changed where you can now shoot the decoy image to destroy it. We hope you all make good use of this new feature.

Note: Since shooting a hologram isn’t possible, we’re also changing the name to Dummy Decoy.

Other Fixes and Improvements

šŸ”¹ Fixed an issue with dragging and dropping gun components.
šŸ”¹ The Painstaker gun should now always be able to damage Orbis turrets.

LOOT-a-LOT Event

The Loot-a-lot event is drawing near!

Our devs are rehearsing to prep for the event, so it’s only fair that we give our amazing survivors some info on what to expect.

šŸ”¹ The dev base will be located at x1185, y1530.
šŸ”¹ We’ll have a team of 4 players.
šŸ”¹ We will use no higher than tier-3 base parts.
šŸ”¹ We have a limited amount of ammo and resources that we’ll depend on, any extra resources will come from players that die near or in our base.

Our base design

* There will be some differences between the image and the final base you see during the event.

The surrounding area

To give players a fighting chance, we’ll be periodically dropping camo storage bags of weapons and armor around the Alpha area. We’ll even be spawning in juggernauts for players to use!

LOOT-a-LOT Event

We’re getting ready to have our second-ever event weekend!

The ā€˜LOOT-a-LOT Event’ is a series of 2-hour special servers where players battle to invade a base built by, and defended by, our dev team! If you succeed in destroying our building core, everyone on the server will receive a reward! Read on to learn more.

For 3 nights this weekend (Fri, Sat, & Sun), we’ll be holding a series of 2-hour special event servers separately on US and Europe servers. The event will happen a total of 6 times, once each evening at 6-8pm CET time on a Europe-based server, and once each evening at 6-8pm PST on a North America-based server.
This is your chance to earn some precious TP for new recipes and perks!
You’ll be ready to raid bases sooner than you’d expect! We’ve adjusted the following settings to make looting and gathering faster, and also to make base building more straight-forward during the event.

Patch Notes: v0.4.2

Did you install several turrets only for them to be rendered useless with an EMP? Are you tired of them needing to be manually turned back on after an EMP? Well worry no more! This update is here to help. We’ve made several changes to help offline raids be less of a headache to those of you that have invested precious hours of your time into designing and creating your bases.

Due to an issue with Thursday's Maintenance, the patch has been delayed by 1 day.

Base Parts Turn Back On

Before, equipment in your base would stay off after an EMP shockwave. We’ve changed it so that everything that was on, turns back on after an EMP.

Lvl 1 Turret Recipes Changed

We made the cost of level 1 turrets (light ammo, energy, shotgun) all the same. Technically, we lowered the cost of the more expensive lvl 1 turrets to match the cost of the light ammo turrets.

Satellite Cooldown Time Increase

We changed the cooldown time for the Satellite Station from 1 hour to 5 hours. This should slightly reduce the overall supply of EMP controllers.

Nerfed Siege Hammers

Looting offline players with siege hammers was a bit too quick and cheap, so we rebalanced siege hammers to make looting take just a little bit longer, and require a couple more siege hammers.

šŸ”¹ Rebalanced drop rates for Hyena Scouts/Gunshielders
šŸ”¹ Slightly increased the overall area around the map that can be used to build on.
šŸ”¹ Increased the max downward aiming angle of the player character from the original 60 degrees to 80 degrees.

Bugs

šŸ”¹ Fixed issue where TFT-K7 was not inflicting the correct amount of damage to other players.
šŸ”¹ Fixed issue with Recycler where it could be installed where it shouldn’t be.
šŸ”¹ Lvl 1 floors/ceilings will no longer take extra bolts when being constructed.
šŸ”¹ Machine Arm skins should now show appropriately again.
šŸ”¹ Fixed an issue where loading with the "Continue Single Player" option would not load the existing character and instead reopen the customization window.
