BIONIC BOOST Event

‘BIONIC BOOST’ Event

This weekend, all of our servers will have a ‘BIONIC BOOST’ event!! It will be active for 48 hours from midnight on Friday, June 9th (PST) to midnight on Sunday, June 11th.

Your cybernetic arm will receive a temporary augmentation, increasing your ability to gather resources.

Official Servers will have a 2x gathering boost. Excluding special items like keys, all gathering will be doubled over the weekend. This includes terrasite, stone, and metal, as well as all containers and NPCs around Ararat Island.

Patch Notes: v0.4.4

Our development team in Korea is hard working on optimizing the game for future updates, so this week’s patch is a bit small. We’re patching the map to eliminate unfair bases, as well as making some small changes to the mob loot drop table.

Unfair Base Locations Gone!

Players were building their bases in unfair locations, often using bugs to build in locations where it was completely impossible to attack their base.

We’ve blocked off areas that we deemed overly unfair to make sure that everyone has a chance at being looted. We may have missed some spots, though, so let us know if you find a base that is 100% impossible to attack, and we’ll patch that spot up.

We still want the map to have easily defendable locations, and hidden locations. The goal of this update is simply to eliminate spots around the map that were impossible to loot.

Changes to Mob Drops

Please note that some mob drops have changed. Low-level Hyena troops can now drop both Silicon Fiber and Microparts. Stompers will now drop Fine Silicon Fiber.

Fixes and Improvements

🔹 Fixed issue where turrets weren’t attacking NPCs.

New Mob in the works!

We’ve been working on a new mob! I can’t quite reveal when this cute guy’ll be in the game, but I’m excited to see a new non-humanoid mob in the game!

Important Notice Regarding Building Placement and Core Removal
Important Notice Regarding Building Placement and Core Removal
Dear Survivors,

We would like to address an issue that has come to our attention regarding unfair practices in building placement within the game. It has come to our attention that some players have constructed their homes (i.e., installed building cores) in areas that were intended to be inaccessible.
tl;dr:
Some players are building bases in areas that are impossible to raid. We plan on blocking access to these locations. If your base is in such a location, and you don’t move your base by Monday, June 5th, you’ll be out of luck, and have to start over from scratch. If you’re unsure about your base location, message Dev_Armond your X,Y coordinates, and he’ll let you know.

In order to rectify this situation and maintain a fair and balanced gameplay experience for all, we have decided to implement the following measures:

Relocation Grace Period: 🕑

Players who have built their homes in these restricted areas will be given a grace period to relocate their dwellings lasting until June 5th, 0:00 AM (PST) . During this time, you will have the opportunity to move your homes to a permissible location.

Core Removal: 💥

Following the grace period, our development team will directly remove the building cores in the restricted areas. Please be aware that in the next update, access to these areas will be restricted, and building in said locations will no longer be possible.

We understand that this decision may inconvenience some players. However, it is necessary to maintain fairness and ensure an enjoyable gaming experience for everyone. We urge affected players to take advantage of the relocation grace period and move their homes accordingly.

If you encounter similar instances of impossible-to-raid locations in other areas, we kindly request that you report them via DM to our Discord channel "Dev_Armond." Our QA team and I will promptly review and address these reports.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in creating a fair and balanced gaming environment. We appreciate your support.
Kindly,
The DYSTERRA Team

Patch Notes: v0.4.3

The LOOT-a-LOT is over. 😢
It was so exciting to see everyone working together for a common purpose, and we had a hoot watching you try to shoot and loot our base.

A good portion of our team is taking a much-needed break after playing Dysterra with you all over the weekend, so this week’s patch is mostly just event rewards and basic bug fixes, with a notable change to turrets.

LOOT-a-LOT Event Rewards!

Thanks to everyone who joined the LOOT-a-LOT event!! We had a great time fighting against you all, and were happy to see so many players that were CLEARLY very skilled at raiding bases.

In this week’s patch, you’ll be receiving your rewards for the event. Please remember that you had to be logged in to the event server at the moment the Devs’ building core was destroyed in order to receive ‘1’ loot point (for a maximum of 3 points). Players with 3 points or more will receive the sum of all listed rewards. If there is a problem with your rewards, please email us your steam ID number and a description of your issue at [email protected].

As promised, the rewards are as follows:

New Armor

This isn’t your grandma’s Fine Metal Suit! The ‘Fine Metal Suit [Golden]’ is not a skin, it’s a better version of the Fine Metal Suit, with its own better stats.

We’re giving the recipe out to players who succeeded at least twice in last weekend’s Loot-a-lot event.
Helmet + Upper Suit + Lower Suit
Tier: Rare
Durability: 1,050 for each piece
Resistance (Combined Full-set)
Physical: 8%
Energy: 86%
Bleeding: 19%
Fracture: 25%
Radiation: 0%

Rewards change if you ride the rocket
This one is just a reminder:
As I stated when we introduced Perks, you’ll get different levels of Perk Pack depending on your ranking when your server expires. If you get on the rocket at the end, your level of Perk Pack goes up 1 tier. The Perk feature has a maximum level of Lv. 3, and the higher-tier Perk Packs vary by changing the probability of obtaining higher-level perks.

Jump on over to our still-under-construction wiki to read all about perks.

We’ve also made changes to the ‘scoreboard’ at the end of a server’s lifespan to show you which reward you’re getting.

Holograms Are Easier To Destroy

We wanted holograms to be more useful. The hologram base’s hit box was too small, so we changed where you can now shoot the decoy image to destroy it. We hope you all make good use of this new feature.

Note: Since shooting a hologram isn’t possible, we’re also changing the name to Dummy Decoy.

Other Fixes and Improvements

🔹 Fixed an issue with dragging and dropping gun components.
🔹 The Painstaker gun should now always be able to damage Orbis turrets.
🔹 Fixed an issue with placing ¼ and triangle foundations.
🔹 Set a max FPS for the game lobby.
🔹 Akashic Data Cards now net you 1000 points when you send them through the transmitter.
🔹 New items have been added to the Transmitter's product list. (Fine Silicon Fiber, Fine Bolts, Fine Microparts)
