Dev Diary # 4 - Steam Next Fest Demo Feedback
Hey everyone,
Steam Next Fest is over and we shared during the last week for the first time our demo with everybody on steam. A big thanks to everybody, who tried out our game, wishlisted us and gave us feedback. That means a lot to us and your comments and suggestions are a big help. A lot of you asked how the demo will be different from Early Access and here is a short summary:

We are finishing up the preparation for the Early Access release on July 1st and we are addressing your feedback and ideas.
Also we are really touched by all the people showing up in the Steam forum and in our Discord and are interested in our game. We will give better possibilities for you to give us feedback in those channels and create some sub-channel in the Steam forum and integrate a Discord bot to quickly report bugs or suggest feedback.
We are all very excited for the Early Access launch next week
See you up in the stars, voyager.

- The Early Access version will give you as the galactic gardener an empty galaxy.
Stone age civilizations will evolve on random planets and you have to take care of them. - It will take a while until they develop advanced technologies capable of sending signals to other planets or building interstellar spaceships. The demo shows us the Human and Prun civilizations later in the game.
- The full game does not end with a timer. Either all civilizations are dying out or if enough civilizations reach the Singularity age a unique technological event can end the game.

We are finishing up the preparation for the Early Access release on July 1st and we are addressing your feedback and ideas.
- Transition times of menus and camera zooms to planets
A lot of you would like to switch between civilizations and the galaxy faster and interact quickly with the events. We speed up these animations for the Early Access version and plan to implement an option in the settings, so players can disable transitions completely. - Optimization and Game breaking Bugs
Vsync, Stuck in Loading Screen, Resolution issues and Tutorial Blockers are all being addressed for the Early Access version. - For some players it was unclear if the game is turn-based or not.
The Fermi Paradox is a turn-based game. You don’t have to rush while collecting the flares or making choices and we will make this more clear in the tutorial and the interface. - Typos and wrong words displaced in texts
It is really important for us that when playing a narrative heavy game that reading the text is fun and interesting and even small errors can distract from that. Our writers are giving our texts a dedicated editing pass for Early Access. You might have noticed that in some texts words get replaced depending on your choices. These procedural text systems can have in some uncommon cases funny results and it will take a while during Early Access to figure them all out.
Also we are really touched by all the people showing up in the Steam forum and in our Discord and are interested in our game.
