Roadmap Progress - September 2021
Hi everyone! Just wanted to give you all a quick progress update about the v5 update later this year, following on from our roadmap post a little while back:
Linux Version is coming soon!
Fans will be happy to know that we have a fully running Linux version now, with only some minor issues that are being ironed out. This runs in a newer version of NodeJS (the Windows release will do this also) meaning that performance is much improved over, for example, the Windows release running via Proton.
Naturally, this is also the version of NALE that will take the game onto the upcoming Steam Deck!
We're not quite ready to release this yet but I think we're at a point where it's safe to confirm it is coming, just a question of when. We'll update you once we have a date.
Withdrawing support for Mac
Due to updates to MacOS, RPG Maker MV is deprecating its Mac support, which affects the editor, but will soon have a knock-on effect on the games themselves.

Up until now, NALE hasn't had full Mac support (just the demo of Chapter 1 over on indie services, not Steam), but we had intended to support the platform in the future if revenue made it viable (we needed to purchase a Mac for development & testing).
The immediate result of this is that we will be removing the Mac version of the Chapter 1 episodic version of the game from itch.io, to prevent giving the false impression that future NALE content may appear on the platform.
We will not be releasing future versions of NALE for Mac OS, unless the above situation changes. We're sad to have to announce this, but at the same time, we want to be clear for those of you who were waiting for this (as several of you have asked in the past).
Art Update for v5
Progress continues on the art update for v5, that will add character busts for Anya Miller & Judge Tawny. We've almost finished the base images for Anya in 1 costume, and are well on-target to produce the rest. We'll update fans once we have more to show on this.
Looking forward to the v5 release!
Thanks for reading this! We're looking forward to the v5 release, and will give you a date once we have one.
