The Horizon Backstage goes extreme! This week’s pairs feature a scaled-up version of a famous Hot Wheels car and a retro racer looking for a new time to shine.



The first pair is made up of the very first winner of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour, a car that perfectly blends past and future: the 2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ. To its side you will find a legend of the track—say hello to the 1939 Maserati 8CTF, otherwise known as “the Italian sausage.”



Light, resistant, and definitely hot, the first car added to the opposing pair is the all-terrain tamer, the 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod. Teaming up with the off-road specialist is a car that deserves its own museum wings and documentaries: the 1951 Porsche 356 SL.

Joining the Trans Am this week is AMC’s take on a performance muscle car, the rare 1971 AMC Javelin AMX. [/p][p]  [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Their first opponent is as groovy as the decade it released, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge (and its iconic sticker).
