The spoops are upon us, and what better time to do a spoopy update for Wet Nightmares?

Development is moving along at an incredible pace, we are doing tests of the build internally and ensuring it is all perfect. Little bits of additional dialogue are being added to fix some misunderstandings and such. The hardest part about building this game is making sure the atmosphere is good, since we are working in a visual novel format here there isn’t much other than pacing we can do to affect the mood of our readers. Audio cues, creating renders for specific scenes, and such. It all takes time to perfect.

The long and short of it, we are taking our time to make sure Wet Nightmares is perfect. You’ll be pleased when it’s in your hands, that we can be sure of.

Here are some new scenes from Chapter 2! We hope you all have a very safe and spoopy Halloween! And try not to bang too many very convincing girls in costume… you never know…

Hello everyone! A quick update to fill you all in on our progress thus far in building Wet Nightmares Chapters 1 and 2.

Progress has been good so far with building the next patch on Renpy. For the most part, Chapter 2 is in engine and now the focus has moved towards filling in missing art and polishing the presentation and atmosphere. Chapter 2 is pretty big, art wise, so the Erk is working hard on getting everything together.



The art for Chapter 1 is also being updated, backgrounds being rendered and other assets being updated to match the modern look of the game.

Hello readers! Welcome to another update post for Wet Nightmares! Work is continuing at a good pace, and we hope to have a lot more than just a simple update to share with you all in the near future, but here is what we have for today.

[h2]Narrative Overview[/h2]
As most of you know Wet Nightmares is not written in English by default, Spanish is actually the first language of the game. So a lot of care needs to go into the translation to make our largest audience feel at home and cover the sense of scarousal we are aiming to achieve.

Chapters 1 and 2 for the English copy and translation are all but done. We are adding a few “extra” chapters between each main chapter to bring even more horror elements to the game. So that there will mean our writing team will be back at work and the process will take a little longer.

[h2]Art Overview[/h2]
Erk is smashing his way through the reworking of all the major art components in Wet Nightmares, these include redrawing existing scenes (just because he is better at his craft than he used to be).



It also means adding missing scenes that were only covered with narration before, meaning less imagination, and more ocular satisfaction!



Rendering has also come a long way since the original release of Chapter 1 which is why the new version is getting a lot more care with it now.



And lastly, we just wanted to show off the overall new look and vibe of Wet Nightmares.



The real work of putting all this together in Renpy is our next step, once the final touches are done with the narrative for Chapters 1 and 2 it should take a week to overhaul Chapter 1 and begin building Chapter 2.

As is tradition for our games, we wanted to start a development diary of the progress being made for Wet Nightmares. However, we won’t have much to say on the technical aspects of the development process because it is a visual novel, there are not a lot of technical and mechanical details we can go into, so expect progress and art updates for the game as they come out.

[h2]Chapter 01 Overhaul[/h2]
Our previous release had a bunch of temp art in chapter 01 for the game, many glossed-over scenes that could be drawings, and basically missing sexual art as well. Since the script of the game has been finished Erk has now moved on to sketching the missing art for chapter 01. This process for his methods is the hardest part, but after sketching rendering, and coloring the art is a lot quicker.

Lastly, for Chapter 01 we have a new promo pic for everyone to enjoy, with the full rendering I spoke of before!



The process for our development is taking a lot longer than usual so we are thankful for everyone’s patience as we build the game. We aim to have a large chunk of the game done by the end of this year! So enjoy some extra Samara while we build!
