Veterinary Clinic, Weather System & Cream Roan Coats! šŸ“šŸŒ§ļø Update 1.8.0.1

Howdy Ranchers! šŸ“šŸŒ§ļø The eight content update is here with a ton of new features, including a new villager, new forage, a weather system, and new coat colors! As we’re approaching the end of Early Access, I’ve also been spending more time on bug fixing and quality of life improvements to prepare for the full release. You can view the full list of changes below!
The Veterinarian
Meet your new neighbour, Dr. Amelia Trotter! She’ll be waiting for you in the veterinary clinic in Rivershine Town. Her clinic offers an array of remedies and poultices to treat your horses, in addition to a few… mysterious… tonics to boost your horses!
Horse Illnesses
Your horses can now become ill, depending on how they are cared for. A healthy horse will be very unlikely to fall sick, while an unhealthy horse surely will. Which illness they get will depend on their satiety, care, energy, the weather and the season.

For example, dirty horses might become ill with mud fever, which can be treated with a poultice. Low satiety can cause malnourishment, while low energy brings on exhaustion. These are treated with remedies, either purchased from the veterinarian or crafted yourself from medicinal forage!

Additionally, you might now encounter sick horses when catching them in the wild. If you choose to adopt them, it’ll be up to you to get them back in good shape!
Remedies & Poultices
While all remedies are available for sale at the veterinary clinic, it might be worth your time to craft them yourself instead!

First, you’ll have to purchase the recipes in Amelia’s shop, and then gather the necessary ingredients. New medicinal forage can be found to craft these recipes, such as garlic, ginger, clay and peppermint. Explore the trails to discover where they grow!
Boosts & Tonics
In addition to remedies, Amelia sells boosts you can use for various effects on your horses. For example, you can now grow your horse’s hair faster, or freeze it to stay at the same length!

The veterinarian also offers potent tonics to boost your horse’s growth. Complete your mare’s pregnancy or help your foal grow up overnight… No need to skip days, as long as you can cover the vet’s expensive fees for her potions!
Weather System
Get ready to face the elements! There is now a chance for sunny, cloudy, rainy or snowy days, depending on the season.

Keep in mind that on rainy and snowy days, your unhealthy horses have a chance to develop rain rot if they are left outside without a blanket. Healthy horses shouldn’t have much trouble with it, and it can always be treated with a poultice!

I’ve also added a new setting named ā€œForever Sunnyā€ that can be turned on to prevent all weather events. This can be used if the new weather is too demanding on your computer and causes lag, or just if you prefer to keep the skies clear!
Foal Bottle Feed
As a little addition to foal care, you can now bottle feed your foals to gain extra trust while they’re growing up! Collect the milk from your nursing mare’s stall and give it yourself to your foal for that extra bond.
Cream Roan Horses
Discover nine new breeding exclusive coat colors by mixing roan and cream horses together! These include coats such as palomino roan, buckskin roan and smoky cream roan. Some of these are my new favorites - I hope you’ll enjoy them too!

There are also known issues with the farming and the retirement pasture, and these will be worked on in the next update.
What’s Next?
After doing some planning for the full release, I’ve decided to combine the last two updates on the roadmap, Home Sweet Home and Village Life, into a single bigger content update that will mark the full release of the game!

As planned, this update will include new additions to your ranch, pets, seasonal events and villager friendships. I have a few more surprises in store for this update to make it exciting for both new players and for those who have been playing The Ranch of Rivershine over the last two years!

Thank you for reading and enjoy your time in Rivershine! ƉloĆÆse
