Update - Patch Notes 0.1.5

Good day!

This is Patch 0.1.5 notes!

In this patch, we have focused on addressing goaltender issues based on your feedback. We've also included some bug fixes, AI tweaks, and gameplay enhancements to improve your overall experience.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment, and we will do our best to provide you with answers.

We've noticed that there have been numerous inquiries about specific future features and updates. If you haven't already, we recommend checking out the Early Access announcement for a detailed roadmap. We'll be posting an updated roadmap very soon as well.

Let's dive into the patch details!

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]

  • Goalies will better anticipate player and puck movement
  • Goalies are now more dynamic in breakaways and can better bait dekes (Dekes pulled in breakaways should feel more rewarding!)
  • Billy Butcher has received some minor buffs on all difficulties and is also affected by the above enhancements
  • Small tweaks on goalie passes
  • A tentative fix has been implemented for the hanging time on missed slapshots, specifically when an AI player prepares for a one-timer shot but the pass misses (Previously, the receiver would stay in a slapshot animation for an excessive amount of time)
  • "The AI pursuit steering behavior has been improved, ensuring that the AI will properly chase you in the correct direction if you fly past them
  • Expert AIs will dodge contacts more often
  • A tentative improvement has been made to the player selection algorithm in response to numerous feedback regarding its inconsistency. We will continue to monitor feedback as usual
  • Puck drop/flip command has been slightly reworked (Give it a try, you can actually pull some toe drag dekes, and more!)
  • Fixed a bug where the mercy rule would not apply properly when fast skipping replays
  • The time on attack statistic has been fixed to display the proper real-time now
  • Puck Puncher talent has been removed from Greasy Lettuce's Calvin Dord and Fortin Mathieu
  • Puck Puncher has been modified to perform a wrist shot instead of a weak lob. Additionally, the shot modifiers power-ups will now affect the Puck Puncher ability (Curved shot+Puck Puncher is quite the combo now!)
  • Shot tipping is now more effective, and it will more frequently trick the goalies
  • Kelly Jelly's shot accuracy has been reduced when playing against the Greasy Lettuce in the Campaign mode


[h3]Menu, UI & Other[/h3]
  • Minor UI fixes
  • System RAM usage has been reduced (We are actively working on optimizing the game to ensure smooth performance across low-end to high-end PCs! If you encounter any issues, please report them via our Discord. We highly recommend locking your FPS to match your PC's capacity for the best experience!)

Patch Notes 0.1.4b

  • Adjusted lobbed passes to now have reduced height and increased speed
  • Fixed a bug where goaltender passes would not be sent in the proper direction

Howdy everyone!

This is the patch notes for Version EA 0.1.4!

As always, we want to thank you all for your feedback and support. We have plenty of patches in the works, so stay tuned and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • Fixes to the camera (Sometimes the camera would shake when the puck bounced off a skater or the ice before being gained possession of)
  • Lobbed passes are now a little slower but higher (Pass Hold Button)
  • Resolved an issue where goaltender passes would not be directed towards the intended direction
  • Improvements to the defensive AI (less clogging, especially in front of the net)
  • Improvements to the AI when going on a breakaway
  • Golfers’ AI slightly reworked
  • Golfers’ anthem now skippable after beating them once
  • Golfers now have High Flyer relic (currently in testing)
  • Golfers’ fairways are less bouncy (grassy areas)
  • Addressed an issue where the game difficulty would not update after completing a run. For instance, if a player changed the difficulty from Standard to Expert after a run, the game would still be set to Standard
  • On Expert difficulty, Cultists will use their freezing ability more frequently
  • Billy Butcher received some minor buffs on Expert Mode
  • Added new benchwarmers to the roster, and they are now easier to distinguish from each other!
  • You can now fast-skip replays using L1/LB or Q on keyboard
  • Fixed a bug where you could soft lock and/or keep playing a game after conceding
  • Fixed a bug where your player would remain knocked out when having the Grappling Hook ability
  • Moongus now has his special helmet! (Cosmic Glide Event)
  • Stinky talent reworked - opponents are pushed further away


[h3]UI, Menus & General Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed multiple jerseys where the numbers were reversed
  • Minor UI fixes
  • New outlines were done to sticks, goalposts, and helmets
  • If Steam Cloud is disabled, your local save file will be loaded instead
  • Various sound issues balanced and fixed
  • Crowd SFX fixes

Update - Patch Notes 0.1.3

Hey everyone, this is the second Early Access Patch Notes!

As usual, thank you so much for helping us report bugs and providing your feedback!

Before we jump into the patch notes, we would like to address a few concerns that we have read about lately. We understand that there are a few things in the roguelite campaign that definitely need to be balanced/reworked. Know that all the feedback has been heard, and we are also working towards our first content/rework patch. Being a small team, we are primarily focusing on fixing the small bugs and tweaking some aspects of the game before launching new content/rework patches. We have quite a bit in store, and we are excited to release them as soon as we can!

We are currently working on a Wiki to provide all the information about Tape to Tape. We will pin the link to the wiki on our community hub as soon as it's completed. However, if you are interested in helping the team, join our Discord and message Hastan#0789! We are looking for players with experience in building a Wiki!

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]
  • The High Flyer relic has been updated so that passes are now much higher, which should feel more noticeable and proper

  • Random Events - Angus' metamorphosis events (Baskangus, Moongus, Monkgus, etc.) are more likely to appear, while events such as Price of Power, Puck Scientist, etc. should be offered less frequently. We are also looking into reworking some events to provide a better gameplay experience

  • Goalie passes have been reworked and will now properly target the pass receiver (Billy Butcher now has a yearly membership at the gym)

  • The Cultists’ greasy sticks received a slight nerf, but it wasn't completely removed. Instead, you will only lose your stick on Slapshots.

  • The Cherrypicker talent now roams around the blue line, whereas previously the player was too far into the opposing zone

  • Player hitboxes increased - bodychecks should be easier and less frustrating to land (We will continue monitoring feedback to make sure the tuning is appropriate)

  • Fixed an issue where a hit would not properly register in some instances (ie: Prince Tristan sometimes became invulnerable. Time to give him some good shoulder hits now!)

  • The boss mercy rule has been properly set to 6. With the exception of the Act 3 boss. (It was mentioned in the previous patch to be 6 but was not applied correctly)

  • Tentative fix where a goal could be scored from behind the net

  • AI is now less likely to turn around in a breakaway situation or in a 2v0 instead of shooting at the net

  • Campfire: Resting now gives +3 OVR (+3 to all attributes) instead of +4.


[h3]UI, Menus, General Fixes[/h3]
  • A tentative fix was applied to address an issue where, on Steam Remote Play, controllers would duplicate

  • A tentative fix was applied to address an issue where the game would soft lock in the controller selection window

  • Added more FPS capping options (360,240,165,144)

First of all, thank you so much for all the reviews, feedback, and ideas that you sent to us through the Reviews, Community Hub & our Discord community server! We are overwhelmed by your drive to help us polish the game during the Early Access period! We really appreciate your time!

Let's jump into those patch notes!

[h2]PATCH NOTES 0.1.2[/h2]

[h3]UI, Menu & Misc.[/h3]

  • Fixed an issue where the Prince's charge shot sound would continue to play even after the game had ended.
  • Fixed an issue with the recognition of the controller layout button on the Blademaster's confirmation screen after purchasing a new skill or superstar
  • Fixed a minor navigation bug that was affecting the main menu and settings
  • Added a minor delay after playing a game to prevent accidentally choosing a reward if you are quickly mashing the confirm button (you know who you are, we got you!).
  • Fixed the button prompt for cancelling a goal when you have the Briefcase relic, so that it matches your controller's button layout correctly
  • Added a pop-up on the game launch advising of the Early Access period
  • Fixed the color of the jersey worn by your goaltender when playing against the Meatballs (campaign)
  • Replays can now be skipped by pressing Enter when playing with a keyboard
  • Fixed a bug with previous demo saves unlocking everything in the Blademaster's shop on the Early Access Launch Version.
  • Fixed an issue with the gamepad being duplicated.


[h3]Gameplay[/h3]

  • Increased the number of rubbers won, which should help with the player's progression. (We will closely monitor feedback to ensure that this change is balanced fairly.)
  • The Greasy Lettuce (Act 1 Elite Team) now has less pass propel force, which significantly slows down their skating speed when receiving a pass.
  • Willie Brie, Cam Amber, and Chloe Crocket are now automatically unlocked in the shop as starters
    Spinorama, Tomahawk, and Dash active abilities are now automatically unlocked and bought in the shop as starters
  • The Megalob active skill has been temporarily removed from the shop and will become part of an event during a campaign run.
  • Billy Butcher (Calaveras' goaltender) has been buffed in Casual and Normal difficulty levels of the campaign. (He offers his sincere apologies for the inconsistent goaltending as of late)
  • AI’s pokecheck and pass interception range has been slightly reduced on Standard difficulty
  • Added a mercy rule for bosses that triggers when there is a 5-goal differential (Disabled against the final boss)
  • Fixed an out-of-bounds issue that occurred when controlling the puck near the boards with an extra large player (ie: Sergei Lancelov)
  • The Zebras' shot accuracy has been slightly nerfed as they felt a little too unfair at times.
  • AI's last-second shot attempts are less accurate.
  • Fixed an issue with the final boss of Act 3 on a second playthrough where the game softlocks. We are also looking into other instances of softlocks and will update you guys as soon as possible.
