A glimpse of what's to come...

Hello everyone! ːos_nikoː
There's quite a few things we'd like to share about the state of the mod!

Writer role
We've added a writer role to the dev application forum
So if you believe you can contribute in world building, character writing, and dialogue, be sure to apply!

Development state
Taking inspiration from out neighbors over at Eternabyte check them out by the way, really cool people working on OneShot: Aftermath in case you didn't already know!, we've decided to do some reorganizing and ditching Github projects (which is very easy to forget about) in favor of Trello.
However we won't be making it public as there will be too many spoilers.

With that, we made and would like to share our current road map to give some insight on the state of the update.
We've even completed a few milestones since it was made!

What are the covered bits?
You'll just have to wait and see them in game!

Now one thing to note is that this diagram is deceptively simple, as it gives a broad overview of the milestones, without the finer details.
We currently have about 40 tasks on our task board, so this will take longer than what it might reflect.

Currently, we're mostly struggling with:
- Technical issues arising from some meta elements
- Performance issues which may be related to hardware and/or the engine (Ruby as the scripting engine certainly doesn't help)
- Pacing out dialogue as currently there's essentially a short novel worth of text condensed in 10 minutes (this one might not have a proper solution unfortunately)

One more thing to keep in mind is that players can't simply continue from where they last left off due to the nature of the game.
While the technical issues behind that are fixable, we cannot retroactively apply certain changes like toggling a switch that should've been toggled in an area you've already completed.
Because of that, content updates are very likely to require playing from the very beginning, so we want to ensure there's enough, in both quality and quantity, to ensure it's worth replaying the game for.

So how long will it take?
Honestly? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Boring things aside, let's talk about content!
Beside the already dreaded block puzzles, you'll get to meet 3 familiar faces, and a bunch of new ones!
So how about an early introduction to some of them right now!

Meet the Scrappers!
They're responsible for salvaging the Barren ruins for resources to be reused elsewhere.
They're part of a bigger guild who're providing engineering, construction, and maintenance services to the population of the world.
But you won't get to see them a lot for now because... well, you'll see. :)

In addition to trudging the block infested industrial ruins, there will be an all too familiar area.
You might ask yourself why is it as it is, or why is it even there, but rest assured, it's not without good reason.
I think its best we don't reveal anything about it beyond that.
Do keep a clean pair of pants nearby, might come in handy! >:)

Another thing I want to bring up is that "transit" has been replaced with something that has a more fitting meaning to it.
What was it replaced with?
You'll have to find what it is in the new anagram hint! (this image is still subject to change)

Ironically, that marks our final transition from outdated mod concepts which were either scrapped or forgotten.
This essentially means some of what was canon up until the next update will cease to be.
But don't worry, you'll have plenty of new things to discover and theorize about!

We would also like to encourage everyone to try messing with the game as much as, and in any way you can once the update is out!
And if you think something is missing a reaction, do let us know!

Words cannot express how excited we are to bring the next batch of content, and to see all of your reactions to it!

Until next time gods!
