Bounty System Update
Hey there all you Mori Cartians! We’re back with another update. To be honest, we have been a little quiet on the update front because we’ve got some exciting news:
Mori Carta will be leaving Early Access on March 25th!
That’s right! In just 10 short days we will be putting our best foot forward with a release into 1.0. We wanted to update you with a sneak peak of what’s to come. Let’s get started talking about this patch!
New Features:
Bounty System: We felt that the previous system with the map was fine, but it lacked a sense of cohesion with the rest of the game. We listened to our players and decided that we wanted a system that felt more like the offerings. So we created something that we believe suits the design of Mori Carta better than the previous system, and provides more information to the player so they can make strategic decisions. Players can now choose several ‘bounty’ encounters during their run. This allows players to fight new enemies they haven’t seen before or face off against enemies that are better suited for the player’s style/deck.
Players receive unique rewards based on the bounty chosen.
We’ve set up a tutorial to show how bounties work.
Sacrifice functionality has been reintroduced via one of the companions.
Gameplay Enhancements:
Card Changes
Many cards were changed, included is a list of some more notable alterations:
Scholar
Forbidden Offer now exhausts.
Trickster:
Boar’s Breath now adds 2 energy in addition to the 3 might. When at 7 energy the card will now fully refund its cost.
Cover your tracks now costs 0 on each side and was moved down to rare from epic.
Dance of daggers now costs 6 and adds 3 energy in addition to the 2 riposte. When at 7 energy the card will now fully refund its cost.
Insecurities reduced to 8 damage from 10
Jagged Bag name changed to “Tools of the Trade” and it’s left side replaced with add 3 Arrows and exhaust.
Killing time was raised to epic rarity and given a significant power increase
7 of sovereignty now exhausts on the right side and reduces enemy might by 3.
Trophy case now costs 4, doesn’t exhaust, and gives 2 energy in addition to the 3 might on reshuffle. When at 7 energy the card will now fully refund its cost.
Druid
Loamwood’s call name changed to “Peace Pipe” and add card was replaced with gain block equal to resilience.
Lick the wounds and Tears had their sides flip to enable healing to be resonated more easily with Hearth Hewn.
