Street Legal 1: REVision News

Update Nov.21.2025

• Game will no longer crash to mods attempting to load non-existent parts with IDs that DO exist, just don't refer to any specific part in SL1R.
For example, a mod originally made for MWM may attempt to install orange neons to a car being generated; Such parts don't exist in SL1R, but a matching ID (of v6_ex_header node) does.

Update Nov.19.2025

• Patch avoiding a Radeon driver bug breaking realtime shadows on RDNA-based GPUs (RX 5000 series and newer).

Update Nov.14.2025: 123, Pry!
Parts
• Fixed Yotta front bumper 3 side vent texture mapping.
• Non-drag Badge tyres (Boss, Babe) now have the word "expired" in their names, better fitting their performance and durability levels.
• Added drag tyres to 4th auto shop.
• Badge door card material now extends all the way to the glass.
• Less bad normals for Badge doors.
• Fixed parts.rpk:0000D120 invalid parent error with some mods made for MWM.
• Mod shocks and springs made for MWM can now be loaded by the Catalog.
• Reduced engine block impact resistance from 150% to 125%, better compensating the damage spread change made in the Feb.02.2025 update.
Prying
• In SL1, your car sometimes gets deformed in a way where a part becomes very difficult or even impossible to directly click; With chassis repair requiring all parts to be disassembled, this is a big problem!
The pry feature turns this bug into a feature, by allowing you to remove parts blocking chassis repair via the repair dialog!
• Upon prying, the part will be damaged a random amount, and any parts attached to it will be automatically disassembled, not only also taking damage, but potentially getting destroyed entirely.
• Rapid prying is extremely destructive.
Car Dealer
• If you find a car you like, but don't have enough cash to pay for it, you can now reserve it for later for $100.
• The reserved car will remain available at the dealer until bought, a different car gets reserved, or you cancel the reservation.
• Names and prices of cars you can't afford are now displayed in light gray.
• Added "WHATSNEXT" cheat, allowing the cars that would be unlocked at the next club to show up at the dealer. See what you can save up enough cash for to buy early!
Cheat must be entered BEFORE entering the dealer. No effect after 3rd club.
Main menu
• Added 123 short descriptions for the things found in the options menu.
• Many convenient shortcuts previously only mentioned in these changelogs are now described in-game.
• Patched the input filter sliders resetting to wrong values.
• Career type selection menu now works the same way as the mutator menu: Hover to view, click to activate.
• Career & mutator descriptions are now fully readable at resolutions below 720p.
• Fixed incorrect credits text layering.
Car Info
• Financial tab now sorts parts first by category (engine/body/r.gear), then by the base value of each part.
• Financial tab now displays the total values of engine, body, and running gear parts of the car.
• Fixed the scroll wheel still 'wheelspinning' when scrolling the parts list - scrolling will be much faster!
• Holding Shift while scrolling now goes an entire page of parts at a time.
• Fixed a memory leak related to engine power graph.
Navigator / Race Setup
• Navigator tiles no longer shimmer at the seams.
• More accurate navigator texture alignment.
• Fixed Navigator width scaling with aspect ratio, giving widescreen (and especially ultrawide) users an advantage.
• Max Race Setup zoom out now goes as far as your aspect ratio allows without going over the edges.
• Just like in Classic career, you can now press the MENU RIGHT key to reset the finish line in Junkman mode too, as if you were setting a bet too high.
Interface
• Fixed the secondary MENU CONFIRM and MENU BACK binds not working.
You'll need to bind them again to apply this fix.
• Added a PAUSE bind, intended for gamepads.
• Navigation via arrow keys no longer uselessly selects sliders.
• Crowdfunder pedestrian lines won't start showing until you have won at least one race.
• Removed widescreen filler gradients and the lazily made widescreen variants of the loading screens. This delivers a much stronger retro gaming vibe, and frankly, they just looked cheap.
If the black areas beside SL1's 4:3 elements bother you, you can add any background you want by editing \\frontend\\textures\\interface\\sections\\dialog\\filler.png.
• Back to the old, raw texture for the STREET LEGAL logo of the upper left corner. The higher resolution variant in use since very early days of SL1R was ok, but not consistent with the rest of the art.
• Optimized Console textures: First opening of the Console is much faster than before!
Misc
• Fixed cars won through pink slips displacing the player car in Car Lot, if a free space is available somewhere before it.
• Driving timewarp controls (including Num0 freeze) now need to be activated via ADVANCED OPTIONS.
• Patch for a bug sometimes causing damage to cars at Car Lot.
• Cleaned up various unused / duplicate files.

We've been working on other cool stuff, hopefully coming soon!
Stay tuned! :)

Update Jul.04.2025: Hollywood!
Garage
• Fixed first person cash display sometimes not updating.
• No more hall of mirrors effect from shoving the camera under the floor.
• Added magic force for keeping cars that are heavily damaged or equipped with terrible tyres from sliding around too much.
• Fixed a case of first person driving mode not being exited correctly, leading to various small garage bugs, such as infoline not displaying.
• Returning to garage while in hood / bumper cam won't auto-enter garage first person mode.
Greenscreen mode
• Enter the new cheat "GREENHELL" into the console to activate greenscreen mode!
• This mode is intended to help with editing images & video effects.
• Turns the world solid green when activated in garage, turns the sky green when activated anywhere else.
• In garage, enables sliders for adjusting light direction, and adds buttons for switching envmaps & toggling part mover cheat.
• Note: First person mode is currently not available in garage greenscreen mode.
Misc
• Fixed random background wooshing sounds at the dealer & auto shops.
• Fixed game crash caused by right-clicking career mutator menu items.
• Fixed first person crosshair getting stuck disabled after switching painter modes while actively spraying.
• City pause menu now displays current win streak. This streak is lost upon returning to garage.
• Added option to disable engine shake effect. It does not go well with some modded engines, and can conflict with part mover cheat.
• Added option to enable fallen parts, as seen in SL1 versions before the final official patch.
A recent game engine update fixed some stability issues related to these parts, so we can finally offer this as an option!
They certainly make for more spectacular crashes, but remain disabled by default because they can unpredictably interfere with collision physics.

More to come! Stay tuned! :)

Update Jun.25.2025: New Force Feedback!
Force feedback
• SL1R's FFB is now compatible with most wheels!
• FFB strength can be increased all the way up to 500% in the options.
• Max FFB update rate can be increased from the old 50hz all the way up to 1000hz in the options.
Be warned: High update rates can seriously affect framerate!
• FFB effects are now activated in a fundamentally different way, so FFB can feel different, depending on your wheel.
• You can revert back to the old FFB in the options.
• For those who tried the beta: This update improves compatibility even further, so if you had troubles, do try again! :)
Misc
• Moved some options around, again.
• Added Test Track starting position options.
• Added CODRIVER2 cheat; This creatively named cheat is just like the regular CODRIVER cheat, but also enables the navigator to rotate. Unlike the regular variant, this can be activated anytime, not just in Race Setup, though dynamic route line won't immediately appear if you activate it mid-race.
• Renamed "EMULATED FFB STRENGTH" option to "PHYSICS-BASED STEERING SPEED", to avoid confusion when adjusting 'real' FFB settings.
To further clarify, this option allows SL's FFB system to influence the 'power' of your steering inputs when using digital steering (keyboard / D-pad).
• Fixed off-axis inventory preview rotation of some bumpers.

More to come! Stay tuned! :)
