When is the official release date for Survive the Fall?
Survive the Fall launches on 22 May 2025.
We are currently doing the last polish, fine-tuning exploration, combat, and progression systems to make sure players get a complete and satisfying experience on release day.
How long will the average playthrough take?
A typical playthrough will take about 35 to 50 hours, depending on how much time you spend exploring the world, completing faction quests, and upgrading your character.
For players who dive deep into hidden areas, secret quests, and full base development, it can easily stretch over 100 hours.
What makes Survive the Fall different from other post-apocalyptic games?
Survive the Fall offers a fresh take on the end of the world — a planet reshaped by a comet impact rather than the usual nuclear or zombie apocalypse. It blends survival exploration, choice-driven RPG quests, and strategic rebuilding, all set in a world that feels wild, strange, and dangerously beautiful. Instead of just surviving another day, you are part of rebuilding of what comes next. It’s a unique fusion of two game types in one: an open-world RPG rich in exploration, story, combat and a deep city-building experience where your decisions shape the future of civilization.
Can you explain the "two games in one" idea?
Survive the Fall merges open-world survival and combat, where you explore three large biomes, scavenge resources, and fight enemies, with settlement development and strategic growth, where you gradually build a hub of survivors and shape a new society. The experience flows naturally — players feel free to explore and fight, but always with a bigger goal in mind.
How much do player choices really affect the story?
While everyday actions won't drastically reshape the world in the moment, your major quest choices, alliances, and faction relationships directly influence which ending you’ll reach. You're building your legacy in a broken world — deciding who rises, who falls, and what kind of society might be reborn.
How big is the world? Can players explore freely from the beginning?
The world spans three large biomes:
- The National Park (overgrown wilderness)
- New Eden City (crumbling urban center)
- The Wasteland (burning forest, hidden bay)
You can explore large parts freely, though harsher areas require better gear and stronger preparation. The setting itself tells a story — filled with hidden places, lost technologies, and the remains of civilizations trying to adapt.
What inspired the world of Survive the Fall — books, films, or other games?
The world draws from the movies “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy and “Mad Max”. Games like This War of Mine and State of Decay were big inspirations as well. We wanted to move beyond typical "gray wasteland" settings and create a vivid, evolving world, filled with beauty, mystery, and danger — where survival isn't just about living, but about building something better.
What’s your favorite faction in the game — and why?
A lot of us are drawn to the Shroomers. They embody a strange, chaotic hope — creating their own society from the ruins of the old one. Their world is colorful, unsettling, and full of surprises — a perfect mirror for the strange new Earth after the Fall. They look almost comical at first glance — overgrown with vibrant fungi, wearing mismatched clothes salvaged from a lost world. And the way they act and speak? Like grown-up children, full of wonder, nonsense, and unexpected wisdom. There’s something disarming about them, something raw and weirdly honest. They’re not trying to rebuild the past — they’re making something entirely new, on their own terms.
What was the biggest challenge you faced while developing Survive the Fall?
Balancing player freedom with meaningful long-term progression was definitely one of the biggest challenges. We wanted players to feel truly free — to explore, to fight, to survive at their own pace.
And all of this, we built as a small indie team. We don’t have a huge studio behind us — just a group of people who love making games and believe in what we’re creating. It took countless late nights, tough decisions, and a lot of iteration to make the setting feel alive, the story feels personal, and the mechanics feel deeply connected.
What’s your favorite gameplay mechanic in Survive the Fall?
One of our favorite mechanics is the active pause system. It gives players a chance to slow down the chaos during combat or tense moments, plan their next moves, use abilities or items, and really think through their strategy — without losing the tension of real-time gameplay.
It creates this great balance between action and tactics. You’re never completely safe, but you’re never overwhelmed either — it’s about staying calm in the storm. It also makes the game more accessible, letting players approach fights in their own style, whether that’s careful planning or improvisation.
