Update 0.3.0 – All You Need to Know!

Hi Survivors!
[p]Today, I’d like to give you a little sneak peek of what we’ve been working on for Update 0.3.0, launching in just a week![/p][p]As always, we’ve put a lot of love and effort into this update, and we can’t wait to hear what you think about the new improvements coming to Survival Machine. Here's a quick look at what we've been up to in the past few weeks:[/p]
 • [p]🔧 Optimization – smoother and more stable gameplay[/p]
 • [p] 🔫 Tommy Gun – a brand new weapon is coming your way! [/p]
 • [p]🏗️ Building System – faster, more precise, and with new possibilities![/p]
 • [p] 🎮 Gamepad Support & Auto-Aim – play your way, with enhanced aiming support[/p]
 • [p] 🖱️ Customizable Controls in UI – full key rebind options![/p]
🔧 Optimization
[p]We know this has been one of our bigger pain points, but also one of our top priorities. With the release of Update 0.3.0, you should notice a significant improvement in this area — we’ve put a lot of effort into it![/p][p]Alongside several smaller and larger changes, there’s one worth highlighting: starting with Update 0.3.0 , the game will automatically suggest settings tailored to your PC’s capabilities. Of course, you're still free to manually adjust these settings if you prefer.[/p][p]However, we can’t move forward without you — we need your feedback on any issues you encounter. Update 0.3.0 definitely doesn’t mark the end of our optimization efforts, and the more input we get from you, the faster and more accurately we can keep improving![/p][p][/p]
🔫 Tommy Gun
[p]We made a promise? We sure did! And now we’re delivering![/p][p]A weapon ahead of its time — the pinnacle of military technology — is waiting for you just around the corner. A 20-round magazine and incredible rate of fire make it the perfect tool for taking on larger hordes of zombies. Few will be able to break through the wall of lead that Tommy unleashes.[/p][p]
Pew pew pew pew!![/p][p]You won’t be able to craft Tommy yourself at one of our workshops — to wield it, you’ll have to leave the safety of the Machine and head out to explore the world. Somewhere out there, hidden in one of the scattered crates, Tommy is waiting to be found.[/p][p]But fair warning — don’t go looking for Tommy right at the start of the game. We’ve planned for it to appear a bit later, as you progress through your journey.[/p][p][/p]
🏗️ Building System
[p]We had to take a step back and rethink the direction we want to take when it comes to building in our game. I'm talking about the vibe we want you to feel when constructing new structures and decorating your homes.[/p][p]It feels like it’s time to give this aspect a clearer, more defined direction — and that’s exactly what the upcoming changes in Update 0.3.0 aim to deliver.[/p][p]Let there be light![/p]
Decorations will be getting a theme
[p]Survival Machine is all about the journey the player takes alongside their Machine. We wanted that theme to be reflected in our building system as well. That’s why we’re aiming for the new decorations to capture that same atmosphere.[/p][p]Our idea? Something along the lines of a traveler’s living workshop. What do you think?[/p][p]The number of pipes needed to keep the Machine running is measured in miles — sometimes they even spill out from the deck![/p][p]We want our decorative elements to fit well with the theme of the road that runs through our game. That’s why you’ll find trophies you’ve earned along the way, reminders of your journey.[/p][p]We also want to showcase the last remnants of luxury items humanity managed to create before the zombie apocalypse. And of course, there’ll be countless bits and pieces every traveler carries — things collected along the way that might come in handy... someday.[/p][p]Your very own botanical garden[/p]
Changes to the models
[p]In addition to new features, we’ll also be making several improvements to things you’re already seeing in Survival Machine. We’ve started reworking some of the models to better match the vibe I mentioned earlier. I won’t reveal all the details just yet, but take a look at the bed, for example. Before the changes, it looked like this:[/p][p][/p][p]And after the changes, we’re proposing this look:[/p][p][/p][p]What do you think?[/p]
Decorations increase storage
[p]No, of course not all decorations will increase the item storage limit on the Machine. However, we felt that what currently serves as storage isn't sufficient — and not entirely logical either. After all, a wardrobe should have that function too, don’t you think?[/p][p]No, the new wall clock won't increase your storage limit, but it looks pretty cool![/p]
Building will be cheaper, and decorating less complicated!
[p]A lot of feedback was focused on this aspect. You mentioned that sometimes you don’t feel like hunting down recipes for decorations. We understand that, and we’d like to propose some changes here: while some of the best and most interesting decorative elements will still require finding recipes (so it doesn’t get too easy), we’ve significantly simplified the decoration process for your Machine.[/p][p]This way, everyone can quickly create a beast they can identify with, and more importantly — one that they enjoy building and traveling with to the last bastion of humanity.[/p][p][/p]
🎮 Gamepad Support & Auto-Aim
[p]In the previous update, we introduced the beta support for controllers. Based on your feedback, it seems that this control method is working well, and we haven’t received any major issues from you regarding its performance. And that’s great! [/p][p]With Update 0.3.0, we want to introduce an additional feature — auto-aim. Once again, just like with the controller support, we kindly ask for your feedback. Let us know how you think the auto-aim is working and where there’s room for improvement.[/p][p]Important note: if you’re not a fan of this feature, you can always turn it off by selecting the appropriate option in the settings.[/p][p][/p]
🖱️ Customizable Controls in UI
[p]Another important feature that many of you, especially left-handed players, have mentioned. With next week's patch, you will gain the ability to customize your key bindings to suit your individual needs. We hope this change will make your gaming experience more comfortable![/p][p]However, if any issues arise, please make sure to let us know — whether it's in the comments on Steam under this post or by reaching out to us on our Discord.[/p][p]We’d like to ask you to share your feedback on what accessibility options you think we should add. We’re aware that some players may have disabilities, so your input will be valuable in making the game more inclusive for everyone![/p][p][/p]
📦 Wrap-Up
[p]That’s all for the sneak peek at next week’s Update 0.3.0! We hope the changes we’re making will make the game more enjoyable for you. As always, we’re counting on your feedback – it means a lot to us![/p][p]Thanks for being with us, and we hope you have many fun and exciting evenings ahead with Survival Machine.[/p][p]Until next time! Dzięki![/p][p]Berdol
