Survival Machine will look like on May 7th—our Early Access launch day.So, what can you expect on May 7th, when Survival Machine makes its debut? In this post, you'll get to know what kind of game we are, dive into our mechanics and what we've got prepared for you in Early Access. Ready? Let’s go!
[h2]What kind of game is Survival Machine?[/h2]
Let's start with the basics. Survival Machine is a fun, tongue-in-cheek survival-adventure game that’s all about exploring the unknown, smashing zombies, and enjoying the
ride with your trusty Machine companion. At its heart, it’s a journey—yours and the Machine’s—filled with action, surprises, and plenty of laughs.
Whether you’re flying solo or teaming up with up to three friends, the experience is all about having a blast. With a mix of playstyles for combat, exploring, base building and resource gathering, there’s something for every kind of player. Just remember: it’s all in good fun—don’t take it too seriously!
As part of Early Access,
we’ve prepared between 10 and 15 hours of gameplay for you — and we guarantee those hours will be packed with exploration, building, overcoming our challenges, and having a great time, whether you're playing solo or with friends.
This is important: Survival Machine scales for both solo players and
co-op, so you don't need to worry about that. We've also prepared 3 difficulty levels, so each of you will find the one that suits your playstyle best. In solo mode, fighting zombies and managing the machine will be a bit easier than in co-op mode. We've got you covered, solo players!

[h2]The world - Introducing the Frontier and its challenges! [/h2]
You'll find yourself surrounded by wide, open spaces filled with trees and scenic views. The starting biome is designed as the perfect place to get familiar with how Survival Machine works. It’s where you’ll first come face-to-face with our zombies and take your initial steps into the grand adventure that lies ahead—right here in the Frontier. [h3]Roadblocks[/h3]
The Frontier will also present serious terrain challenges for the Machine—and without your help, it’s going nowhere. We’ve prepared a series of obstacles for you to tackle:
a landslide blocking the path, a collapsed bridge, a sealed gate, and even a fort set up by our zombies. Each of these will test you in different ways—whether it’s solving puzzles, using clever strategies, or proving your combat skills, you’ll need to rise to the occasion.
[h3]Points of Interest (PoI)[/h3]
Let’s not beat around the bush — in Early Access, we’ve prepared a whopping 34 unique Points of Interest (PoIs) which we’ve divided into three categories for you to discover. These are specially designed locations scattered across the map, each offering unique challenges.

Test your skills! Agility in platform-focused PoIs, combat in brutal arenas filled with zombies, and problem-solving in mind-bending puzzles. Each challenge offers a well-earned reward, but only the best will make it through. Prove you're the ultimate Survivor by mastering each test.
[h3]Secrets[/h3]
Oh yes, we’ve got secrets too. Hidden deep across the Frontier are secret spots and locations just waiting to be discovered. But don’t expect an easy ride — we made sure they’re well-hidden, and cracking them open will take some serious brainpower.
For the most curious of you who manage to uncover them, legendary loot awaits! So dive into the Frontier and explore every corner — it’ll be worth it!
[h2]Equipment - what will you use and fight with![/h2]
In Survival Machine, you’ll have access to a wide range of gear. We’ve prepared everything you need for exploration and resource gathering — from axes and pickaxes to hammers. But that’s not all.
[h3]Equipment Sets[/h3]
Survival Machine also features special equipment sets that give you a real edge. How to get them? Explore! In the Frontier you’ll be able to find few sets for you to use to your advantage:
- Woodcutter set increases the tool efficiency of every axe by +1
- Gravekeeper set helps when you die, because you don't lose the items in your backpack
- The Ironbound set makes the durability of all items decrease 50% slower
- The Shadowstep set makes dodging cost no stamina
- …and a few others, but I’ll leave their discovery up to you
[h2]Weapons and shields[/h2]
There is no true survival without various types of weapons, and in a scenario like ours, where the threat of a zombie attack is not only real but practically certain, weapons are simply a must. Same goes for shields, fighting zombies without any protection can be very difficult.
I won't describe everything here, but I would like to give you a taste of what's to come on May 7th.
[h3]Melee weapons[/h3]
- Clubs are an easy-to-make weapon that, when using a heavy attack, can stun incoming zombies, giving you time to escape.
- Swords work great against larger groups of zombies as they can deal area damage. Additionally, holding a sword in your hand gives you a good chance for a critical hit.
[h3]Ranged weapons[/h3]
- The slingshot is a small, unassuming weapon you'll first encounter in Survival Machine. It fires multiple projectiles at once and, in skilled hands, can thin out zombie hordes. In heavy attack mode, it can knock down zombies chasing us.
- Bow is a more serious ranged weapon. It has a clearly greater range than the slingshot, allowing for relatively safe shooting from a distance. When using the heavy attack, an arrow shot from the bow is capable of piercing through several zombies at once.
- Repeater Rifle. You’ve been waiting for this, haven’t you? Dominating in range and damage over more traditional ranged weapons, the Repeaters feature a six-round magazine, allowing you to take out zombies from a distance quickly.
Additionally, all firearms are equipped with a mechanism that significantly speeds up reloading, and if you’re good enough and hit a perfect reload, your weapon will get damage boost as well. You’ll see for yourselves!
[h3]Shields[/h3]
Shields allow you to block more attacks, and each one has a unique effect on a perfect block. We have several options here. Some shields only stun the zombies on perfect blocks, others will restore a point of your health, and the best ones will also give your character a buff to the damage you deal. Certain shields also provide additional health or stamina points when equipped.
[h3]Artillery and traps[/h3]
We have quite a few heavy weapons in store for you!
The bomb thrower is a powerful artillery piece with a large calibre, designed to launch projectiles over long distances.
The light cannon is a more compact and lightweight version, with a smaller calibre.
The ballista offers ranged support on the battlefield, very handy during night attacks.
When the big guns aren't enough,
traps are your backup. We've designed a variety of them, but be mindful of your energy level – without it, your traps, which are your last line of defense, will become nothing more than a pile of scrap. Some traps will use spikes to slow down zombies, others will inflict fire damage, and some... well, you'll have to wait until May 7th to see what else we have in store.

As you can see, there’s quite a lot to discover, and I bet it will take you some time to uncover everything! Remember, the Early Access launch doesn't mark the end of Survival Machine’s development — quite the opposite! It's just the beginning, and the game will evolve significantly by the time we reach version 1.0.
