Patch 1.4 - Controller Support Launch!

[p]Hello Citizens!
[/p][p]Today, we’re celebrating the console release of Frostpunk 2! But as we mentioned before, PC citizens are not being forgotten. Patch 1.4 is here, bringing full controller support, an improved UI, and prologue balance updates (you’ll find the full changelog below).
[/p][p]We’ve created the gamepad experience for Frostpunk 2 based on feedback from the first the installment. We won’t lie, we’re very happy with the result! Our goal was to make it as intuitive as possible, letting you make crucial decisions with just a single tilt of the thumbstick.[/p][p][/p][p]Check it all out in our new trailer:
[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
New Gamepad UI
[p]After connecting your gamepad, you’ll experience a redesigned UI built specifically for smooth navigation on the controller. [/p][p]
Enjoy quick access to your most important actions,[/p]
  • [p]Use the bumper buttons to cycle between districts of the same type,[/p]
  • [p]Interact with a dynamic radial menu that appears over resource piles, showing context-specific actions.
    [/p]
[carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
New Circular Menu
[p]We have reimagined the circular interface from Frostpunk: Console Edition and rebuilt it for the new challenges of Frostpunk 2.
[/p][p]Since the game differs in gameplay from its predecessor, we carefully reworked and adapted all these systems over time. Now you have the freedom to choose how you want to lead your city, without worrying about navigating the controls. Just tilt the knob and confirm your decision with single click of a button!
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p]
[/p][p]We cannot wait to greet our new citizens with gamepads in the city! Don't forget to send us your first impressions about new UI and patch in the comments, as your feedback constantly helps us improve the game.

See you in the next update.

Modding Contest - Winners Announcement

[p]Hello Citizens,

Our modding contest has come to an end, and honestly, we are blown away by your creations. We received around 16 entries, and were incredibly impressed with how complex and ambitious many of these mods were! To be honest, it took us way more time than we anticipated to play through them all! You have introduced massive changes to political systems, added new scenarios, overhauled difficulty, and even implemented a multiplayer mode!

Our jury from 11 bit studios and mod.io was able to review each mod in detail, and believe us, picking the best one was no easy task, as our ratings were extremely close.

We won’t keep you waiting any longer. Below you will find the full list of our winners, along with commentary from our jury. Each of these mods is a must-try, and we truly mean it!
Congratulations to:
[/p]
Best City Mechanics Mod - Samps4 for City Development Effort mod
[p]
If you are looking for a renewed and seriously difficult challenge, City Development Effort is the mod for you. New statistics, new cold levels, new difficulty settings, new districts, new buildings, and even UI improvements are all here. “Very easy to snowball problems, 10/10 Frostpunk experience, you made a mistake 1000 steps ago and now you’re suffering the consequences.” - this phrase perfectly describes the mod. Which makes it the unquestionable winner in this category.

[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Best Frostland Mechanics Mod - antohanikulin for Frostland Reborn mod
[p]
If you are looking for a pack of extra content to bolster your experience in the frostland, Frostland Reborn should definitely be on your list. It adds new sites, lore and introduces slightly different types of interactions with them, showing us that some simple additions can sometimes have a huge impact on how we experience the game.
[/p][carousel][/carousel]
Best Visual/Design Mod - FrostBreakingTeam for Brave New World mod
[p]
When we rated this mod, we faced a challenge deciding where to classify it, as it impacts both mechanics and visuals on many different levels. With new scenarios, buildings, and mechanics, it almost felt like a new DL! The overall design and attention to detail, and an impressive set of beautifully designed new buildings and districts convinced us to award it the Best Visual/Design Award.
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Best Politics Mod - Hevi007 for Political Overhaul mod
[p][/p][p]We all know Frostpunk is about politics, but Political Overhaul truly elevates it to another level. With new tales, communities, events, and laws, it expands the game’s political system so much that it feels like an entirely separate DLC, seamlessly fitting into the base gameplay.

[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Best Mod - Hevi007 for Political Overhaul mod
[p]
As we mentioned, picking the winner was very difficult for us. Every creation was unique, creative, and brought us a lot of fun, and dozens of hours of playtime. But after careful ratings and discussions, Political Overhaul by Hevi007 stood out - congratulations! As one of our jury members said: “I don’t really see why I would play the game without this mod anymore.” That alone shows how much of a masterpiece it is, and we are truly grateful we had the chance to play it.

Political Overhaul is the best mod that integrates seamlessly in the game original design. It remains fully playable without causing balance issues, while adding new and engaging content that go far beyond the vanilla political side of the game. It is a polished and ambitious project that proudly claims the award for Best Mod in our contest! If you haven’t played it yet, we highly recommend giving it a try for your next game!

[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Honorable Mentions:
[p]- SiddharthaOm and MrBob1137 for Survive Together - An awe inspiring achievement that multiplayer coop into the game. While it’s not fully polished yet, and some issues remain, it impressed the whole development team at 11 bit studios, and we cannot wait to see more. We can’t wait to play the 1.0 version in the future!

- Henry_joestar for Protectorate - Bringing new ressources, a transport system and a range of new features, Protectorate is another promising overhaul mod. It’s still a bit unbalanced, but with a very creative and promising premise! We’re definitely keeping our eyes on this project. It definitely changes the way you have to think about city-building in Frostpunk 2.

- ActionPickle for Automaton Overhaul - Focused on a specific part of gameplay, but the reimagining of automatons was a great idea and gave us a lot of fun in the end game!

- Roollingstoones for Captain Statue - This mod sparked plenty of buzz and discussion in our office, and most importantly, brought smiles to our faces. We felt it absolutely deserved a place among the honorable mentions.
[/p]

[p]

Apart from the creations mentioned above, we still encourage you to check out all the other mods that have recently appeared around Frostpunk 2. This contest has proven to us that our modding community is both ambitious and dedicated, and we cannot wait to see even more content in the future! We truly hope our community will continue to grow, and that creators will keep developing such masterpieces. The City is grateful to have you with us!

To honor your work, we are currently creating a special trailer showcasing your mods, which will soon be published on our official channels. Stay tuned!
