More Controller Enhancement!

First of all this patch fixes a bug introduced in the previous patch, where a AI database caching problem caused NPCs to not respond to thrown rocks in some circumstances.

With the enhancements to controller in the last patch, I feel there's still more player friction. So I decided to do away with the "hold LT to enter grid cursor mode", and instead, as soon as you hover the cursor over an inventory grid, it'll automatically enter the grid mode. To exit from that, you simply move the grid cursor to the edge of the grid as if it's the actual cursor, and then the real cursor will show up there. I think this change makes inventory management a lot more enjoyable than before.

But you can still hold LT or use the Dpad while in the grid cursor mode. This will ensure that the cursor doesn't "leave the grid" when at the edge, and the movement is slightly slower to help you pinpoint the position.

This fix has been a... nightmare to implement, so to speak :) So I hope there's no issues with it, but if you do, please let me know in the forums :)

Other fixes included in the patch:

- Kicking won't shake the camera if you aren't hitting anything with your foot

- While holding an item in grid cursor mode, the entire item is highlighted instead of just showing the grid cursor at the bottom left corner of the item

- You won't be able to enter grid mode if the inventory grid is not accessible for the item you are holding

Merry Christmas! And Some Gameplay Improvements

Dear Ghoul Hunters,

It has been a hard-working but yet fruitful year! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)

I have been very busy working with Microsoft to certify Tunguska: The Visitation for Xbox launch. It's basically going through some rigorous testing process, and if there's anything wrong I must fix it and restart the certification. The fourth iteration is now being tested, so fingers crossed!

One major benefit of going through the Xbox porting process is to identify lots of areas of improvement, especially with controllers, which benefits Steam Deck and controllers users. In update 1.91-3 I've added the following improvements:

- You can now use the left bumper/right bumper on the controller to scroll through UI tabs

- Cursor movement by left stick is now related to screen resolution, so that under high resolution it doesn't feel so slow and sluggish

- You can now hold left stick button down to accelerate cursor movement

- Added some DB caching to reduce the amount of DB read operations, which helps with loading time

- This is to free up the up/down Dpad arrows so that they can be used in the inventory grid to select items (in addition to holding left trigger to activate grid selection). Just hover the cursor over the grid, and start pressing Dpad buttons - feels like Tetris!

- Added more friction to the throwable skulls so that they don't roll around too much, making anomaly-spawning more accurate

- When creating character, "First Name" and "Last Name" input will become bigger when hovering cursor over them, making it easier to select them

- You can now use left trigger or right trigger to change options setting when the cursor is hovering above it

- Fixed a bug where player's hitbox doesn't shrink when beginning to slide

- Fixed a bug where pressing bumper buttons while holding an item will move the tabs

- Fixed a bug where holding Combo and pressing Dpad to use pocket item will also pull out sidearm or detector

- Fixed a bug where you are able to use Dpad to change a setting even though its left/right arrows are disabled

- Adjusted some items' colliders

- Reduced the particle effects in Slaughterhouse to help improve performance

Update 1.91-2 Patch Notes

- In hybrid control scheme, when you pull out a rock or grenade, you'll see the yellow arrow indicating direction of the "bowling toss" throw when you tap RMB.

- Fixed the problem with stealth detection indicator flashing when there are a lot of enemies in front of player

- Improved grenade/rock throwing with gamepad. Now the right stick can easily choose how far to throw it.

- Fixed the aiming issue with grenade launcher when using Auto-Aim control scheme

- Potion of elation recipe will now allow player to collect ingredients for potion of elation from backpack

- Items will no longer collide with each other when dropped from inventory

Update 1.91-1 Patch Notes

- Increased NPC investigation range and duration (making it easier to distract patrolling guards)

- Fixed a bug with electronics selling price

- The item info panel now shows the item count

- Disruptive tutorials will no longer show up when player is performing an action

- When a tree is broken down, it will now generate one last piece of firewood

- Fixed a bug where killing a ghoul while helping out an invasion doesn't give you relationship boost

- The "Sleep" button when resting should be bound to Y button instead of A button

- Fixed a bug with keychains showing up too often in NPC loot at the beginning of game progression

- When pressing X button to unload a gun while on the workbench, it shouldn't trigger a Dismantle

- When opening the inventory, the item info panel will not immediately show which often blocks the view of loot

Update 1.91 Patch Notes

- As per fan request, after reaching Fitness skill points 60, the Acrobat perk will reserve the jumping animation. So to jump, tap the jump key; to somersault, hold the jump key for 0.2 seconds

- It's almost Christmas and it's time for the Bootleggers and the Amerikanets (in Ravenwood) to decorate their place!
