Early Access FAQs

[p]As it's been two very epic months since launch, so we thought we'd answer some of the most frequently asked questions! This blog will serve as a reference area you can come back to if you need to see things like the roadmap etc.

Please note if you're reading this further down the line from July 2025, this post may be outdated (we will try to pop back and update periodically!)
[/p]
General FAQs:
[p]When will Hotel Architect be launched into 1.0?
Hotel Architect currently doesn't have a full release date yet, but it's playable right now so we hope you enjoy! See our roadmap for more details on whats coming up to the game soon.
[/p][p]How much does the game cost?
Hotel Architect is Ā£15.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, unless on sale!
[/p][p]Is there a roadmap?
Yes there is, check it out below:[/p][p] When is the next content update?
We will be revealing the next content update very soon. Make sure to follow us on our social media/check out our weekly blogs to be the first to know.
[/p][p]Is Hotel Architect single player and/or multiplayer?
Hotel Architect is a single player game and has no plans to be multiplayer or co-op in future.
[/p][p]What platforms will the game be releasing on?
Currently, Hotel Architect is releasing exclusively on Steam. This may however change in the future, we have seen lots of requests for console and mac. We just can't promise other platforms yet.
[/p][p]Will the game run on steam deck? / Why aren’t buttons working on Steam Deck?
Please note Hotel Architect is not verified but it is marked playable on Steam Deck.[/p][p]The UI is not designed for Steam Deck despite the game running on the platform itself at this moment in time. However you can play with the use of the on-screen keyboard or a physical keyboard connected to the deck. We recommend looking at community control/keybind layouts as well.
[/p][p]Can I play offline?
Hotel Architect is not playable completely offline - it requires an internet connection when finding player profiles when booting up. After then you can game offline if you wish.

Will there be twitch integration in future?
The team are actively discussing this, but we can't confirm anything yet.[/p][p]
[/p]
Gameplay related FAQs:
[p]
How does the campaign work?
In order to complete the campaign, you must at least complete all the main objectives in each location, which are shown within the ā€œTo Do Listā€ in the top-left corner or at the top of the Rewards menu. The other objectives listed within the Rewards menu are optional, and will allow you to unlock all the items for that location.
[/p][p]Is there a way to not scroll through and find every item when I need it?
There is an eyedropper tool in the top right of the screen next to the game time UI, you can use that to speed things up if you have already placed an item once and also there is a 'recent' tab in the furniture categories area.
[/p][p]Why can’t I keep the hotel clean?
Make sure you have enough bins and cleaners around to manage the dirt and litter, especially if you have a lot of guests.

Why won't my waiters serve guests in the restaurant?
If your waiters are looking for cutlery and there are any table spots without it, then they won't serve guests. Try to make sure you have enough cutlery shelves and the kitchen can cope with washing dishes/cutlery in a timely manner.
[/p][p]How do I get more guests of a specific type?
You can get more guests of a specific type by catering to their preferences. When making a room or placing items, check what appeals to that guest type by clicking on the room and checking the right hand side panel guest types. For example, Sporties love gyms, boxing machines and need en-suite Bathrooms attached to their bedrooms.
[/p][p]The sunbathing guest goal isn't going up, how to I get guests to count for it?
This goal is designed to target the sunbather guest type only, it will not count for other guests. So make sure you have rooms that sunbathers will stay in, and your hotel is 3 stars with sunbeds! Then you will find gradually sunbathers will sunbathe and the goal counter will go up.
[/p][p]Can I revisit locations?
You are free to revisit locations any time you’d like by selecting the location and either clicking ā€œContinueā€, ā€œLoad Gameā€, or you can click ā€œNew Scenarioā€ if you’d like to start it again from a fresh save.

How do I achieve 5 stars on Gothenburg/Santorini if I don't have a spa?
You will need to unlock the spa zone in Paris and then revisit those locations by returning to the main menu.
[/p][p]How do I improve guest reviews?
You can improve guest reviews by appealing to their preferences. You can check what they like and dislike in the ā€œGuestsā€ tab of the People menu to help cater to their needs. You can also see the general feedback from guests that have already visited and left reviews on the ā€œRatingsā€ tab of the Financial Overview menu, and use that as general feedback on what needs improving. The critic will also give you a more detailed review after their stay has ended.

My rooms are only booked by one person. Will couples/groups be added to the game?
The team would love to add couples or groups in but at this moment in time the game will remain single occupancy for rooms. This is to make sure everything runs smoothly while the team continues to develop other areas, but it is a possibility in future.[/p][p]
When is the casino zone coming?!
The team have made considerable progress on the casino zone, but it's not quite ready to go just yet. We will let you all know as soon as we can reveal things!

[/p]
Building related FAQs:
[p]
Can I build more floors?
Each map has it's own floor limitation currently, this is not only to encourage different types of gameplay but to help stability and smoothness of your game sessions. The team are hearing your calls for more floors/bigger floors though!

Will you add more walls/floors/items in future?
The Hotel Architect team are working on bringing you lots of new items as we progress through early access, if you have a suggestion for something, let us know what you’d like to see!
[/p][p]Can I delete/undo blueprints?
Select a wall tool + Hold CRTL while dragging the wall tool over the blueprints to undo. This works on blueprints of foundations and internal walls as well. There is currently not an undo button in Hotel Architect, however the team are aware that this has been requested.

I can’t see what I’m doing behind the walls! Help!
You can hold the middle mouse button and move the mouse to tilt the camera and/or press T on the keyboard to lower some of the walls to make things easier to see when decorating etc.
[/p][p]Can I copy and paste rooms?
There is now a copy and paste feature for rooms and an eyedropper tool for individual items/walls/floors!

Rooms sizes don't reflect the right amount of tiles?
Rooms sizes will always include bathrooms in the total, so consider that when creating your rooms as well.

If you’ve not got an answer to your question from this post to find, please post in the steam community or join the Discord and ask in the Hotel Chat channel. [/p][p]https://Discord.gg/HotelArchitect[/p][p]The team will be happy to help!

We also have a How To video area on Youtube and weekly steam blogs also cover the game in more detail, so head to our news page![/p]

Need some Inspiration? Check out what the team built this week!

[p]Hey Hoteliers!

We know we've been quiet with updates and fixes in game recently, but rest assured the team are busy working away on the game and also the next location which we will have more news on soon. For now though we thought we'd supply you with a bit of inspiration for some different builds, so we're going to show you what the team have been building in game!
[/p]
Jono’s Min/Max Mega Prison Hotel
[p]Efficiency meets... incarceration? Jono went full optimization mode this week with a brutalist mega prison hotel that’s all about maximum profit and minimum comfort.
Think concrete walls, very basic showers, and a restaurant that feels more like a cantine. Guests may not leave glowing reviews, but they do leave on time and it makes money! šŸ˜…
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Ant’s Swanky New York High Rise
[p]Straight from the skyline of Manhattan, Ant’s build is a luxury high-rise hotel that screams sophistication! With a centrepiece bar, beautiful room suites, and a games centre plus tanning area for sunbathers, what more could you want on a trip to New York when you aren't out exploring the city?
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Tegan’s Pastel Santorini Resort
[p]Tegan brought the sunshine with a pastel-toned Santorini-inspired resort that’s all about relaxation and picturesque views! Soft colours in every beach hut overlooking the sea, this is the kind of place where guests come for the sunsets and stay for the spa treatments. Pure bliss!
[/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Annina’s Cozy St. Anton Getaway
[p]If you’re dreaming of snow-capped peaks and hot cocoa by the fire, Annina’s St. Anton alpine retreat is your next stop. This cozy mountain lodge is packed with rustic charm, comfy relaxing spots and roaring fireplaces! It’s the perfect winter escape, even in summer![/p][carousel][/carousel]
Curtis’s Nightmare Hotel
[p]And then there’s Curtis. What started as a standard hotel stay for some quickly spiralled into a nightmare tower that defies all critics, amenities and basic hygiene standards. It’s a disaster.. but it’s his disaster. And somehow, it’s still in business (just)! [/p][p][/p][p]Which build is your favourite? Got something even cooler in the works? Share your creations with us on the Steam Screenshots area or in our builds share channel in the discord![/p][p]Until next time, keep building dreams (or nightmares, if you’re like Curtis šŸ˜‰)
