A sneaky little Las Vegas peek!

[p]Hey Hoteliers, [/p][p] We know you're all eagerly waiting on a date for the release of the Las Vegas and casinos update, and we'll be able to give you that very soon!

Today we've got a little sneak preview of what you can expect in the update, and while not everything is in these shots, there's plenty to look at! This way you'll be able to start planning how you want to lay out your casinos and new hotels 😊

Las Vegas as a map will be 18 x 18 across 8 floors, so that's even bigger than New York with 2592 tiles. It's a huge amount of space to build in and you could possibly have a floor with a mega casino in if you wanted. We're also including 3 financial starting options again for those that like more of a challenge!

[/p][p]The casino zone can be any shape/size that you would like and you can even place it around a bar zone which would be quite fitting.

You can have multiples of each table, but remember you will need to have staff to cover them all if its suddenly busy. Croupiers are the new staff type coming with the update and they can move between types of table. If one has guests waiting but their current one doesn't, they will head over to run the game.
[/p][p][/p][p]Casinos can contain a variety of 5 types of casino tables - roulette, blackjack, baccarat, craps and a fortune wheel, plus 3 versions of slot machines for your casinos.

Each requires a cash deposit and must stay above a certain threshold to remain operational and you’ll need to tailor bet sizes to suit your guest types, just like you do with your guest rooms.
[/p][p][/p][p]We’re also rolling out a bunch of new furniture and items to help you capture that iconic Vegas atmosphere! Think glitz, glamour, and a touch of extravagance.. or just a fancy car on show in the middle of the room if you want. [/p][p]Your casinos can be overwhelmingly with bright light pillars and noise or a more dialled back and sophisticated vibe, you decide![/p][p][/p][p]

So what do you think? We hope you're excited and we'll have more news for you soon!

Our Top Tips for building in New York!

[p]Now the New York location has been out for a little while and you've all had a chance to really dig in, we thought we'd jump into some top tips on mastering the map.[/p][p]Whether you're revisiting the map or diving in for the first time, this blog will include a bunch of tips that will help you build a hotel that thrives in the city that never sleeps and make your builds more efficient and profitable!
[/p]
Top Tips for Building a Top-Tier New York Hotel!

Start Smart
[p]Choose the financing option that matches your playstyle - the New York map has 3 finance options to choose from in the scenario. Risk-takers might go for high loans, while strategists may prefer slow, steady growth.

The three types are: [/p]
 • [p] Investment - starting money $275,000 but you must pay 5 $25,000 lumps starting on day 20 and eventually reach a hotel value of $2.5 million![/p]
 • [p]City Loan - starting money $350,000 but you must pay back the city $250,000 and at some point have 25 staff hired consecutively for 5 days. [/p]
 • [p]Bootstrap - starting money $150,000 and you need to reach a profit of $2,000 per employee for 3 consecutive days and have 10 bedrooms on the same floor.[/p]
[p]Some of these are easier than others, depending on your play style with bootstrap being more independent but less starting funds! Figure out which is the best for you, or if you like a challenge you could try to be successful with a build on all 3 options.[/p][p]
[/p]
Balance Luxury and Practicality
[p]Offer a mix of room types including luxury suites, business rooms, and budget-friendly options. If you build too big too quickly, then you'll find yourself running out of money very fast!

If you play with a 'build everything in big chunks' style, then you'll need to remind yourself to avoid getting low on funds and let the hotel function at least a little bit while building.

The easiest way to gradually build a successful hotel is to start with the guests that require the lower star ratings like Backpackers and work your way up to the 5 star demanding Upper Crust. You can always hop back and upgrade the lower star rooms later or renovate them entirely once the hotel is more established.
[/p]
Design with Vertical Efficiency!
[p]Elevators are quite important in this map - after all you don't want it to take half a day for a cleaner to take sheets up to the top floors!

If you are looking to make the most out of the space in your hotels, once your elevator is built, you can delete the stairs. This will help when squeezing in those extra rooms.

You can also make your layouts more efficient by popping in another staff room or multiple laundry zones etc to reduce travel time of your staff. [/p]
Spread out your zones
[p]Remember you have 25 times the 10x10 tiles to play with here, so having an entire restaurant floor isn't a bad idea if you're catering to lots of hungry guests! You could even spread the kitchen out onto another floor for a mega restaurant.

[/p]
Problem solving
[p]When you're having an issue with something in your hotel either not being done or a flow problem, follow the staff that are meant to be tackling this or watch your guests as the wander around. [/p][p]You'll often be able to suss out what's gone wrong by assessing what is causing the problem. [/p][p]Beds not being made: How over worked are your cleaners or are there enough washing machines? [/p][p]Trash piling up: Do you have enough dumpsters/bins and do your cleaners have time in the day after prioritising making the beds? [/p][p]Guests leaving because they can't check in: Do you have enough receptionists to tackle the busy influx of check outs/check ins? [/p][p][/p][p]
