Casino Zone Deep Dive

[p]Hey Hoteliers,

it’s time to raise the stakes by adding a casino zone to your hotels!

The Casino Zone was introduced with the Las Vegas map and now its had some initial tweaks we're ready to talk about it in full! Now before we start, a reminder that this zone is an add-on to your hotel - we fully recommend building your hotel first so you don't go bankrupt if your casino needs a bit of adjusting after it's been built. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this zone tick.[/p]
Core Mechanics: How the Casino Zone Works
[p]The Casino Zone is designed to simulate a real-world gambling floor with a mix of slot machines and table games. Here’s what you’ll be managing:[/p]
  • [p]Global Cash Reserve: All casino games now pull from a single shared pot, making it easier to manage reserves.[/p]
  • [p]Casino Overview Window: A centralized dashboard lets you adjust bet sizes, monitor reserves and profits! [/p]
  • [p]Recommended Reserve Size: Based on your zone setup, the game suggests how much cash you should keep on hand to avoid running dry during peak hours. However this isn't a fail safe, you will still need to check in every so often.[/p]
  • [p]House Edge: Yes, your casino has a house edge, which means your guests are less likely to win or win big but sometimes the lucky ones will hit a jackpot!
    [/p][p][/p]
Game Types & Guest Preferences
[p]Not all guests gamble the same way. The Casino Zone includes:[/p]
  • [p]Slot Machines: Easy to place and manage, but only appeal to certain guest types.[/p]
  • [p]Table Games: Blackjack, roulette, and more - these attract high-end guests and require Croupier staff to operate.[/p]
[p]Guest behaviour is dynamic:[/p]
  • [p]Upper Crust & Brat Guests: These VIPs won’t touch slot machines. They demand elegant table games and top-tier service.[/p]
  • [p]Guests are also more likely to gamble in your casinos on the Las Vegas map. After all Las Vegas is the home of the most casinos in the world![/p][p][/p]
Casino Staff: Croupiers
[p]Croupiers are the new staff type introduced with casinos and they run the table games in your casino. They will move between tables needed depending on guest demand but if all your tables are busy, you will need a croupier on all of them.

Like other staff members, croupiers require breaks and all have attributes that affect their ability to complete tasks/their behaviour. Previous attributes can be applied to croupiers, but there are three croupier specific attributes to watch out for, spinophobic, betting junkie and hypnotist!

[/p]
Strategic Tips for Casino Success
• [p]Balance Layout: Mix slots and tables to cater to a wider range of guests.[/p]
  • [p]Staff Smartly: Make sure you have enough croupiers but remember you also have to pay wages![/p]
  • [p]Monitor Reserves: Keep an eye on your global pot - running out of cash can tank guest satisfaction.[/p]
  • [p]Adjust your bets: Minimum bets will appeal to different guest types, but also increase you profit if you balance it juuuust right![/p]
  • [p]It needs to be swanky: Use decor to boost your diamond rating![/p]
[p]
Whether you’re building a cozy corner casino for a bar or a sprawling gambling palace, we want to see your casinos - so make sure to share them in the screenshot area or tag us on social media!

[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Casino Zone Gets a Mini Makeover!
[p]We’ve seen your feedback on how casinos work and we've adjusted them to make them smoother to manage and more exciting to run:[/p]
  • [p]Global Cash Reserve: Say goodbye to juggling separate reserves for each game. Now, all casino items share one global pot![/p]
  • [p]Casino Overview Window: Manage your reserve and tweak bet sizes from one handy place.[/p]
  • [p]Recommended Reserve Size: We’ll suggest how much cash you should keep on hand based on your zones setup. [/p]
  • [p]Bet Range Tweaks: Guests bet ranges have changed slightly to fit with the rework.[/p]
  • [p]Vegas Vibes: Guests in Las Vegas are now more likely to hit the casino floor compared to other locations.[/p]
  • [p]Entertainment Boost: Casino time now counts toward your guests’ Entertainment score.[/p]
  • [p]Slot Machine Edge: House edge increased from 7.5% to 12% - more realism and less volatility when it comes to reserves and payouts.[/p]
  • [p]Upper Crust + Brat Guests: They’ve got standards - no more slots for them, only classy table games![/p]
New Features & Improvements
• [p]New Decor: Add flair with the new fountain and Parisian entrance flower pots.[/p]
  • [p]Attribute improvements: The caffeine addict, bar lover, and betting junkie affects are now increased to be more obvious![/p]
  • [p]That pesky luxury corner shower that ignored the copy and paste tool is no longer, it is now a square shower![/p]
  • [p]Added 100 new backpacker guests, so you can really build massive backpacker hotels 👀[/p]
  • [p]The casino zone will no longer show no assigned staff when you create a zone with only slot machines and no tables.[/p]
  • [p]Bartenders will now idle at the cash register and won't stand randomly in the middle of a room![/p]
  • [p]Various stability fixes and minor tweaks to keep things running smoothly.[/p]

Bellhop & Room Service Update coming soon!

[p]Pack your bags (literally), because things are about to get a whole lot more luxurious in Hotel Architect! On the Indie Fan Fest show last night, we revealed the first look at the bellhop and room service update coming to the game!

Check out the trailer here: [/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Bellhops & Bags
[p]Guests will now arrive with their own luggage, and they’re not carrying it all the way to their rooms! Your bellhop staff will be on hand to whisk those bags away and deliver them straight to the guest’s room.[/p][p]Once inside, guests will use case stands to store their luggage neatly. It’s a small touch, but it makes your rooms feel more lived-in and realistic. Plus, who doesn’t love watching bellhops hustle around the lobby?
[/p]
Room Service, Please!
[p]Feeling fancy? Your guests are! With the new room service table, they’ll be able to request items directly to their rooms including champagne![/p][p]You’ll need to make sure your staff is ready to deliver quickly and efficiently, because happy guests mean great reviews (and more bookings!)

Plus more, but we're not revealing it all yet! We hope you're excited after watching the trailer, we know we are! [/p][p][/p][p]- The Hotel Architect Team[/p]
