A Host of Upcoming Unit Updates
Hello commanders!
We are back again. As you know, last week we launched our new expansion, WARNO - SOUTHAG into a preliminary “Early Access” available to Expansion Pass owners.
We promise: the full official release of WARNO - SOUTHAG is coming very soon.
In the meantime, in today’s DevBlog, we look at several new units that have been added, improved or will be added to existing divisions in WARNO thanks to WARNO - SOUTHAG.
WARNO - SOUTHAG Early Access
We have released WARNO - SOUTHAG into an “Early Access” form, meaning that owners of the WARNO Expansion Pass will be able to already play with our newest expansion. Why?

After several months of unexpected delays in getting our expansion out of the door, we wanted to give our players and community a chance to get playing sooner rather than later. The roadblocks and issues derailed WARNO - SOUTHAG’s development significantly, and - for us and for you - it was high time you got playing, while we are working our darndest to get the missing content from the expansion into the official full launch. WARNO - SOUTHAG is currently without the last two divisions and one Army General campaign.
In the meantime, we wanted to give you an overview of all the new, updated, or changed units that - thanks to WARNO - SOUTHAG you’ll be able to encounter in the WARNO base game.
New and Improved Units
With France arguably being one of the main NATO protagonists in WARNO - SOUTHAG, we modeled several new units for the Army General campaign. These will also find their way into existing French divisions, specifically the 11e Division Parachutiste and 4e Division Aéromobile (the latter attached to the West German Territorialkommando Süd in-game).

New, reworked, or improved units are highlighted in bold and italic.
11e Division Parachutiste

TerrKdo Süd
The new AUVERLAND jeeps were only used by the 4e Division Aéromobile, intended to be airlifted onto the battlefield. In-game, they'll have the same stats as their P4 counterpart, but with the Airlifted trait.
Reworked Models
While modelling new variants of existing units, we also took the opportunity to update the base models in case of visual… imperfections. This includes:
Call 911
And, furthermore, we took the chance to expand the number of “cop cars” in WARNO. That is, the military police vehicles with their own Military Police trait. This means that units previously restricted to specific divisions, depending on their DLC, have been seeded more generously throughout the game.
We will round out this list after WARNO - SOUTHAG’s full release:
Already added
Furthermore, the following changes were already added to the base game of WARNO with last week’s patch:
WARNO - SOUTHAG Expansion
WARNO - SOUTHAG is WARNO’s second expansion after WARNO - NORTHAG and showcases the fighting in southern West Germany near the Alps and on the Czechoslovakian frontier. The expansion is available now only for Expansion Pass owners. The official launch of WARNO - SOUTHAG will come in the very near future.

These will also find their way into existing French divisions, specifically the 11e Division Parachutiste and 4e Division Aéromobile (the latter attached to the West German Territorialkommando Süd in-game).

New, reworked, or improved units are highlighted in bold and italic.
11e Division Parachutiste
- A new P4 PC PARA., with the Para (meaning Forward Deployment) trait. This unit replaces the previous, regular P4 PC.
- In the same vein, a new HM2A1 105mm PARA., with the Para (Forward Deployment) trait. This one replaces the previous, regular HM2A1 105mm.
- One card of PARA. ECLAIREURS is replaced with one new HUSSARDS PARA., a more heavily armed 8-man recon squad. The former are now restricted to the P4 (no more VLRA .50), but in turn, gain access to the new recon transport P4 ANF1, meanwhile, the latter are restricted to the VLRA and VLRA.50.
TerrKdo Süd
The new AUVERLAND jeeps were only used by the 4e Division Aéromobile, intended to be airlifted onto the battlefield. In-game, they'll have the same stats as their P4 counterpart, but with the Airlifted trait.
- The P4 MILAN is replaced with the AUVERLAND MILAN, with access to the SUPER PUMA as a transport option.
- Added one card of command AUVERLAND PC, once again with access to SUPER PUMA as a transport.
- Added the new 4-man AERO-ECLAIREURS with either the transport AUVERLAND or the recon transport AUVERLAND ANF-1.
Reworked Models
While modelling new variants of existing units, we also took the opportunity to update the base models in case of visual… imperfections. This includes:
- The West German LEOPARD 1A1A1, which gave birth to 1. Luftlandedivision’s “healthy” LEOPARD 1A1A2.
- The Soviet BM-21 GRAD, which happens to be the proud father of Soviet 31-ya TD's PRIMA. Not only that, we also redid some of the textures for this venerable artillery unit, specifically the Polish and East German variants, which either had Soviet markings or the wrong tone of camouflage green. These have been fixed with the proper national colors and markings.
Call 911
And, furthermore, we took the chance to expand the number of “cop cars” in WARNO. That is, the military police vehicles with their own Military Police trait. This means that units previously restricted to specific divisions, depending on their DLC, have been seeded more generously throughout the game.
- M1025 HUMVEE MP is now available in most American divisions.
- The new P4 GENDARMERIE in French formations.
- The new VW T3 FELDJÄGER in West German battlegroups.
- And the ROVER KMAR and ROVER PREVOTE in Dutch and Belgian divisions respectively.
We will round out this list after WARNO - SOUTHAG’s full release:
- The new TRAFIC GENDARMERIE (to be featured in the Division du Rhin) will also be made available in 152e Division d’Infanterie.

- The new UAZ-452 in some Soviet and Polish divisions.
Already added
Furthermore, the following changes were already added to the base game of WARNO with last week’s patch:
- A new MiG-21bis [AT] to the Polish 4 Dywizja Zmechanizowana, which was in need of some anti-tank capacity.
- Plus we replaced one card of PARA. MARINE from 11e Division Parachutiste with one card of new PARA. MARINE (Eryx), representing the 8e RPIMa which was the designated regiment testing the Eryx ATGM since 1988. As we are “Marching to War” the Eryx for Canada, there was no reason for it not to be featured with this French division who was actually field testing this short-range SACLOS missile.

- 2 new Army General campaigns, including Holding Attack and Closing the Trap.
- 4 new Operations, such as Delayed Retribution, Glory or Attrition,Hydra
- 10 new Divisions, featuring Canada, Spain, and Czechoslovakia as new nations. These include NATO’s 1st Canadian Division, the Spanish División Mecanizada «Brunete» n.º 1, the French 6e Division Blindée Légère and Division du Rhin, plus the West German 1. Luftlandedivision. The Warsaw Pact features the Czechoslovakian 1. Tanková Divize, 19. Motostřelecká Divize, and 303. Tanková Divize, while the Soviet Central Group of Forces deploys the 31-ya Tankovaya Diviziya and the 17-ya Gvardeyskaya Tankovaya Diviziya.
