LANDJUT Division #6 - Østre Landsdelskommando
Hello commanders!
We are back with the last of our WARNO - LANDJUT reveals, shining today’s spotlight on the second Danish battlegroup: Østre Landsdelskommand, or the Eastern Territorial Command.
Let’s go!
[h3]The Østre Landsdelskommando Detailed[/h3]
The Østre Landsdelskommand would only be activated during times of war, encompassing all units earmarked for the defense of the Danish Isles, specifically Zealand (home to Copenhagen).

The Danish Hjemmeværnet (HJV), or Home Guard, plays an important role in this battlegroup. Founded in March 1945, even before the end of World War II, by members of the Danish resistance, it swore to protect Denmark against “foreign and domestic” threats. This is a historical detail, as this refers to the Danish Army of 1940 opposing the German invasion for less than 6 hours before surrendering (and Denmark later featuring a collaborationist government).
During the Cold War, the Danes regarded the Army with a certain level of suspicion, but enlisted in large numbers in the Home Guard, a reserve force that trained in basic guerrilla warfare should the country ever be invaded again. This meant that in the late 1980s, Denmark had a small regular army, backed by a surprisingly large and strong Home Guard, which was well-motivated and trained.
The formations part of this strategic command included:

How will the Østre Landsdelskommando look like in WARNO - LANDJUT? New units are both italic and bolded. The following is still work in progress and subject to change.
LOG

INF
Once again, a pretty good category.

ART
An average category.

TANK
An average category.

REC
Not one of the best categories.

AA
A very good category.
HEL
Rather dismal, as not a single helicopter will be available!
AIR
A very good category.

The Østre Landsdelskommando is a capable reservist division with the usual slew of older equipment, but well-trained and highly motivated Home Guard soldiers to man them. Air support is powerful.
[h2]LANDJUT in brief[/h2]
The WARNO - LANDJUT expansion will bring 8 new Divisions to WARNO, playable in Skirmish and Multiplayer, with one brand-new nation, Denmark. This means a host of new weapons, units, vehicles, and battlegroups in a Tribute-style DLC, but no new Operations or Army General campaigns.

- Two independent mechanized "Zealand Brigades", each with one tank battalion, two mechanized infantry battalions, one armored artillery battalion, and a motorized infantry battalion.
- Four independent motorized infantry "Zealand Battlegroups", each with two motorized infantry battalions, one towed artillery battalion, and one anti-tank squadron.
- A further three independent artillery battalions.
- Local Hjemmeværnet (Danish Home Guard) units.
- And we have added the independent Bornholms garrison which, although administratively attached to the Østre Landsdelskommand, was in real-life intended to fight (and most likely die) alone on the most eastern of Danish islands, Bornholm. This small, isolated body of land, strategically located in the Baltic Sea, would have been the first target of the joint Polish-Soviet amphibious assault. The garrison, which included three infantry battalions, two armored squadrons, and one artillery battalion, used the light M41-DK tank not in a recon role, but as an actual “tank”.

How will the Østre Landsdelskommando look like in WARNO - LANDJUT? New units are both italic and bolded. The following is still work in progress and subject to change.
LOG
- A pretty good category with Command units being the LARO KOMMANDO and M113A1 KSN.
- Supply units include an FOB, BEDFORD MJ2P and MD JUPITER trucks, as well as a Danish Navy S-61A supply helicopter.

INF
Once again, a pretty good category.
- Danish motorized infantry will be the most numerous type of infantry for this division. Jyske Division’s INFANTERI (PNÆV) squads are featured side-by-side with the INFANTERIFØRER command variant (4-strong with 4x Hovea SMG, LAW and Smoke grenades) and INFANTERI, with 3x Hovea, 4x Garand rifles , 1x MG m/62, and a Carl Gustav recoilless rifle. These squads only come in softskin vehicles.
- The Danish Royal Guards, protecting the palace and Danish royal family residing in Copenhagen, are also represented with a single card of LIVGARDEN, featuring the Resolute trait. They also deploy in trucks.
- The same PANTSERINFANTERIE, both vanilla and command squads, as found with the Jyske Division, including transport options, but in much lower numbers.
- Likewise, the combat engineers from the Jyske Division, the INGENIØRERFØRER and INGENIØRER, as well as the same transports they can deploy, will also make an appearance.
- Support weapon teams include the M/87 I-TOW, MG M/62 7,62mm, TMG M/50 12,7mm, and MILITÆRPOLITI military police, as well as the M38A1 M/56 106mm jeep (which is a M40A1 RCL).
- The new Hjemmeværnet brings the following Home Guard units, all coming with the Reservist trait.
- HJV FØRER: a 12-man squad with 2x M/37 SMG (Husqvarna m/37), 9x Garand, 1x MG m/62, and a M20 Super Bazooka, plus the Leader trait.
- HJV: another 12-man squad but this one with 8x Gv m/75 (G3 battle rifles), 1x Gv m/66 (a scoped G3), 1x MG m/62, and LAW.
- HJV RESERVISTER: a 12-man reserve squad with 2x Hovea SMG, 6x Garand, 1x MG m/62, and M20 Super Bazooka, plus the Security and Militia traits. They represent the older members of the Home Guard called up for duty.
- HJV INGENIØR: an 8-man combat engineer squad with 1x Hovea, 7x Garand, M20 Super Bazooka, and Satchel charges, as well as the Shock trait.
- HJV DYKN M/56: which is a M40A1 RCL weapons team.
- HJV FØRER: a 12-man squad with 2x M/37 SMG (Husqvarna m/37), 9x Garand, 1x MG m/62, and a M20 Super Bazooka, plus the Leader trait.
- Lastly, the Danish Navy’s special forces, the FRØMÆND are also featured as a 6-man frogmen squad with 6x MP-5SD, Carl Gustav, and Satchel charges, including the Special Forces and Shock traits. They come in softskin vehicles or the LYNX MK.80 helicopter.

ART
An average category.
- Mortars come in the form of MORTER M/57 81mm (the American M29 in Danish service) and the MORTER M/50 120mm (older French Brandt model), as well as a few self-propelled M125.
- Towed artillery include HAUBITS M/50 105mm (the M101), KANON M/52 155mm (a Long Tom in Danish service), HAUBITS M/51 155mm (the M114) and HAUBITS M/55 203m (the M115).
- The only self-propelled howitzers are a few cards of the M109A3.

TANK
An average category.
- The tanks from the attached mechanized brigade, and the tank destroyers from the motorized ones, were all of the same kind: early-generation Centurions.
- The “tanks” are the modernized CENTURION MK.V/2 DK (in regular and command variants), upgunned to 105mm and close in performance to the Dutch Centurion Mk.5/2.
- As a “tank destroyer”, the older CENTURION MK.V (vanilla and command), armed with the 20-pdr gun, can be deployed. This is the same one as the Jyske Division.
- These are aided in their tank destroying role by the LARO M/87 and M113 TOW-2.
- The Bornholms garrison could muster two companies of M41-DK1, one in the traditional recon role, the other featured here as a light tank.
- The Home Guard did not deploy any armored vehicles, though it retained a dozen or so M10c Achilles tank destroyers from World War II. These are used as mobile pillboxes to protect key bridges, and represented in WARNO as HJV M/10, with a 17-pdr gun and the Reservist trait.

REC
Not one of the best categories.
- Most of the recon units are on foot:
- A few SPEJDERE, SPEJDERE (DYNK), and PANSERSPEJDERE, as found in the Jyske Division, with the same transport options.
- The 6-strong HJV SPEJDERE with 2x Hovea, 3x Garand, 1x m/66, and LAW, riding in BEDFORD M2JP.
- The airborne SPE/ELK squad, being 4-strong with 2x Gv m/65, 2x Gv m/66, Redeye MANPAD, and Smoke grenades. They come with the Special Forces, Airborne, and GSR trait.
- A few SPEJDERE, SPEJDERE (DYNK), and PANSERSPEJDERE, as found in the Jyske Division, with the same transport options.
- The Danish Navy’s S-61A radar recon helicopter.
- And the M41-DK1 light recon tank.

AA
A very good category.
- In the Østre Landsdelskommando, much like Jyske Division, close air defense is provided by LRKT HAMLET (Redeye) MANPAD teams. Since the Danish Navy was already using a few Stingers - ahead of the Army - we’ve added a card of LRKT STINGER, with the Resolute trait.
- Anti-air guns are predominantly of an older type, such as the FIRLING 12,7mm (M55 quad 12,7mm) and the LVK M/60 40mm (Bofors). The former also come mounted on a truck as the BEDFORD FIRLING 12,7mm.
- The classic I-HAWK can also be deployed.
HEL
Rather dismal, as not a single helicopter will be available!
AIR
A very good category.
- As all the Danish F-16s have been allocated to the Jyske Division, and over Jutland as a whole, what remains of the Flyvevåbnet or Royal Danish Air Force’s inventory will be the iconic (Swedish-made) F 35 WDNS.
They come in various loadouts:- The F 35 WDNS [AA] as a cheap air superiority fighter with guns and 2x AIM-9N.
- Strike fighters come as:
- F 35 WDNS [RKT] as found with the Jyske Division.
- F 35 WDNS [CLU] with 6x Rockeye cluster bombs and 2x AIM-9N.
- F 35 WDNS [HE/CLU] with 4x Rockeye cluster and 4x Mk.82 227kg HE bombs.
- F 35 WDNS [HE] with 4x Mk.83 454kg HE bombs and 2x AIM-9N.
- F 35 WDNS [RKT] as found with the Jyske Division.
- On top of that, the U.S. Marine Corps is in the vicinity and will provide additional air cover with:
- F/A-18A [AA1] with Vulcan, 4x AIM-7P and 2x AIM-9M.
- F/A-18A [AA2] with Vulcan, 2x AIM-7M and 6x AIM-9M.
- F/A-18A [SEAD] with Vulcan, 2x AIM-7M, 2x AIM-9M and 2x AGM-88 HARM.
- F/A-18A [AA1] with Vulcan, 4x AIM-7P and 2x AIM-9M.

The Østre Landsdelskommando is a capable reservist division with the usual slew of older equipment, but well-trained and highly motivated Home Guard soldiers to man them. Air support is powerful.
